Brutality! [ITA]

Day three of the tournament. With less than half of the entrants remaining, and many of them having grown substantially in power with their conquests, the fighting was building to a fevered pitch destined to end in a crescendo of glory. But this far out, it's still anybody's game...

Maxim vs. Four-Glass-Walls

The Underground Tunnel Complex sprawled in all directions, a network of caverns and connecting tunnels that had no exit. The tunnels were lit, but the caverns were not save for the light that spilled into them where the tunnels connected.

This was just like serving with the Red Heterodyne! But with less bat-eating and being stuck under the earth for a couple of years. And with more fighting. So of course, this meant it was better.

Maxim tilted his head to try and hear his opponent better, but for the moment, all he heard was the dripping of condensation as water hit rock.

"Hello!"

The voice came from down by his feet.

From a Gila monster that was looking up at him.

"Vat?" the Jaeger asked, staring down at the critter. "Hyu iz a leedle lizard!"

Maxim supposed that he shouldn't let that surprise him. Or catch him with his guard down, for that matter, so he backed off a bit. It wasn't as if the Gila were glowing or anything, but that sure didn't mean he wasn't dangerous...

"I'm a Gila monster!" the lizard said, scrambling to catch back up to him.
