Then I'll let you break it again and again [Open]
Diana was walking through hydroponics. With Jinx. And Provisions. Like some kind of warped, family outing.
Why?
They were having a lazy day in Jinx’s apartment, Diana watching Pro glide to and fro along the different pieces of furniture and Jinx lounging on the sofa reading one of her books, with the young bird occasionally coasting over her head to clip at her hair, much to Diana’s smug amusement and Jinx’s exasperation.
After a small period of time, Jinx put her book away and came over to see the other girl who was squatting in her apartment, expression on her face that as if she’d had a brilliant idea. Slyly, she put forward the idea that since they spent so much time together anyway, perhaps she and Diana could go on a date.
The result was Diana laughing in her face. It was a short laugh that only escaped because the question had been so unexpected, but it had swiftly drained all confidence from Jinx’s face.
Despite the fact Diana had no desire to partake in ‘dates’, especially the type that included commitment, because she had no use for that, the crushed expression on Jinx’s face as she tried pull her damaged pride back made Diana actually feel guilty.
It was at this point she realized she may be getting far too invested with Jinx and that perhaps this relationship was taking a turn into something Diana was not planning for and had been trying to steer clear of.
But if it had, it was too late to change now, she’d just have to think of some way of dealing with it later. For now though, she had to appease the girl who looked like she was about to crawl under her bed and hide from the world for a month.
So, Diana had suggested that maybe they could go for a walk together. It was still a very cheesy, romantic novel thing, which usually made Diana roll her eyes and brush the idea away, but it had certainly brought the light back into the those pink eyes.
So, now here they were.
Provisions coasting from branch to branch, exploring and strengthening his wings and flight skills, stopping to make sure the two girls were still close by and crowing for their attention when he managed a long glide. He was still incapable of true flight, but he’d certainly been coming along these past few days.
Jinx and Diana walked side by side, watching him hop and flap about. Jinx had been mostly quiet since they’d set off. Diana guessed she was still sore from the laugh. Joy.

stalkedwatched Howard around the city. "Lots of hand holding there, then again it might be because he can't walk a straight line."no subject
According to Howard, all birds speak English now.
His eyes narrow a bit. "That's Orc, and he's my responsibility."

Diana almost cringed when Jinx brought up Orc, not the best subject to tease Howard on, but it wasn't Jinx's fault, Diana never spoke to her about her FAYZ acquaintances.
"Orc is a special case. Like a big rock puppy Howard has to look after."

"Though, there might be a few too many 'gifted' individuals for our liking, Howie." She smirks at him while Pro decides Howard is the happening place to be and flaps up onto his head, much to Diana's amusement.

Congratulations, Jinx, you get a patented Howard headtilt-and-jawdrop combo.

Diana had spun her head around so fast the tips of her hair had actually brushed across Howards face.
She stood, staring at Jinx, face disbelieving. Jinx was from the same place as Batman? How had that not been brought up? True, Diana knew next to nothing about comic books and superheros so any hints would have been lost on her but Jinx could at least made mention of it. Wait, Jinx was from a comic book universe? Really? And Jinx chose to spring this on her now? In front of Howard? Now she was really skating on very thin ice.
Diana's eyes slowly changed from wide eyed shock to narrow eyed displeasure. "So, you're from the same world as Batman?" She remarked with a sour note.

"Well...a Batman yes. I spent more then a few nights trading shots with Robin. Not the Robin we have here on Stacy but still..." She tilted her head curiously, "Haven't I mentioned it before? Or did I say Superman? I mean it's the same universe even if the versions we have around here are different." She was trying to play it cool, trying to distract from the shock and in Diana's case...annoyance.
no subject
"What, are you actually insulted? Don't you know that we're probably from a movie or videogame somewhere too? You didn't pick up on fictional people being a thing when freaking Spider-Man and Superman hung around?"
Not that Howard knows what medium or series that might be that murders kids like it's going out of style. Probably some webcomic or some shit.

Diana rolled her eyes at Howard's amusement, thinking of a decent way to give them both a little payback. She did not like being shown up infront of Howard, and she would make that clear to Jinx.
"You're the one who told me about those kind people when I first got here, Howie baby." She tucked her hair behind her ear and gestured to Jinx nonchalantly. "Of course she's fictional, just look at that hair and facial decor."
Diana made a point of keeping her face calm and collected as she made the next statement, knowing for a fact that Howard never wanted to hear such things and Jinx was nowhere near ready for such announcements to others. "But you'd think she'd mention being from the same world as comic book heros inbetween all the sex."
no subject
But then came the sex remark and her face went from pale to red. She did her best to play it off "W-well...where I come from they aren't in the comic books, they're inn the newspapers and you know...television. Besides...priorities." By which she meant the sex was more important then that useless little tidbit.
She had to admit though she rather liked the puzzlement that Howard had for her.

He points to Diana, then at Jinx, not willing to let his discomfort with this turn in the conversation go anywhere. "I knew it!"
Not that he knows where to go with that revelation. He was hoping harping on Diana's relationship with Jinx would make her just as uncomfortable as people harping on Orc or Zouichi do with him, but Diana seems completely nonchalant about it. As if playing the gay card, while not being a point of pride for her, isn't a sore spot either. And that's an idea that's completely foreign to Howard, since he can't envision being able to do anything but fly off the handle or burst into tears if someone did the same to him.

She casts a look in Jinx's direction. "That shade of red is a bit too contrasting with your hair. Stick to the pink."

But instead she gives him a little chance and turns to Jinx, changing her smirk into a playful smile, wanting to see how she'll deal with Howard herself. "I wonder what he means by that?"

Diana whispered in his ear. "And you shouldn't lie." Pulling back, she rested herself again Jinx in a very comfortable fashion. "After all, don't you hate liars?"

But the attempt at a jibe coupled with seeing Howard's blush served only to encourage Diana. "I disagree. Jinx is like those pretty pink roses." With little effort and in the most casual manner, Diana linked her hand with Jinx's, winking at Howard. "Sweet but spiky."
Provisions suddenly gave Howard's earlobe a small peck before he flew off to land upon Diana's shoulder once again, settling himself comfortably against his 'mothers' neck.
"But then, I think we both know it's not just 'skanks' you're not into, Howie~" That smirk was back as she made a show of intertwining her fingers with Jinx's to emphasize her point.
