Gun Play [Closed]
Who: Diana and Hit Girl
Where: Sensoriums
Summary: Hit Girl teaches Diana the finer points of hurting someone.
Warnings: Flirtation and violence (on imaginary people).
While Mindy was normally not big on doing things that distracted from her duties and her alter ego, Diana had mentioned that she was interested in learning how to shoot a gun, and she couldn't blame her. With all that was going on in the ship, from the Ohm to the Daligig to general unrest, not having the basic idea how to defend yourself was as good as painting a bulls eye on your back. So she mentioned that if Diana wanted to meet in the Sensorium at a certain time, there'd be someone who would show her how to fire properly.
Was it a risk? Yeah. She didn't like the idea of getting close enough to someone that they knew her alter ego. It was bad enough Diana was a terrible flirt, but worse that she wasn't so sure she could keep a secret. On the other hand, if Howard could, and they were from the same place, why not her (hopefully)? Besides, Diana was her cook and, to a certain extent, a friend. It would be a good idea that she make sure nothing happen to her.
So she waited, barrier jacket and all, for her waitress to come through the Sensorium.

Diana gave a little jolt, looking at the target then turning back to Hit Girl, smirking again. "Very nice."
"Alright then, teacher, what should I try next?"
no subject
Seriously, this condescending stuff was getting on her nerves. She HATED being called cute.
"Try an actual enemy. Think of your worst, or close to that."
no subject
“Enemy?” Like, the person she hated the most? Or the one that scared her the most? Would she even remember anymore? She frowned then closed her eyes.
When she opened them again and there he was.
Drake Merwin.
He was stood just a few feet away. She’d been foolish to even try to think she wouldn’t remember him. The long, fleshy whip that was his arm was coiled around his waist. His pale eyes cold as ice, sparking with insanity. Cruel, shark-like smile spread across his face. In his normal hand, he held a gun, which swung aimlessly by his hip. Clearly, he had no use for it, not when he unfurled that long whip that writhed as it poised itself, ready to strike at any moment. He looked so smugly confident and almost giddy at Diana’s unrest.
“Hi, Diana.”
Panic kicked in and fear flashed across Diana’s eyes. Her hands are shaking slightly, but she raised the gun and released a few rounds straight at him, with two managing to connect with his chest.
But with him being Drake, he’d simply stumbled backwards from the hits, looking at his wounds in surprise before turning his gaze back to Diana, his smile widening like he’s getting excited. He starts advancing.

When she met the eyes of the person who held her fears, she could see why. She didn't know the name of the guy she was looking at, or why he had a tentacle hand, or even why a few shots didn't take him the fuck down. No, THIS was the reason Diana was taking these lessons in the first place. With all of the teasing and aggravation, Hit Girl saw that this was what Diana feared: an opponent who could not be taken down.
And she could work with this.
"Who is that?"
no subject
Drake continued of his path towards them, the smug confidence he got from Diana’s fear never leaving his face. “You know, Diana, I’m getting pretty sick of that name.” He cracked the whip, causing hard ‘snap’ to echo through the air and making Diana’s skin to give a small shiver. “Maybe I should remind you of my pet name.”
“Shut up, Drake.” Diana scowled, sounding far more confident than her eye’s betrayed. Now that he was close enough, she brought up the gun and shot him in the temple.
His head jerked backward from the sheer blow of the shot, but within seconds he simply cracked his neck and made a noise of amusement, staring straight at her, smirk still fixed. Hate filled eyes drinking in her sad attempts.
“Want to try again?”
no subject
And him just coming back after a head shot was starting to bug her. There was tenacity and there was THAT, which didn't make any kind of sense.
"Why isn't he going down?"
no subject
Drake let out a cold, cruel laugh and the whip hand coiled around Diana’s neck, he was clearly taking great pleasure in how much his presence shook her.
“Now, now, Diana, you know in your pretty little head that’s not true. I’m just very determined.”
Diana would have spat in his face if her throat hadn’t seized up with terror, so she just put up her brave front. “He leeches off Brittney’s power of immortality. Always needs a girl to put him in the right place.”
At that, Drake scowled and tightens his hold on her neck, making Diana tense in panic. “You’re not acting very smart, Ladris.”
no subject
She swallowed a little, however, when he wrapped the hand around Diana's face, trying to keep herself steady. Remember, practice session, practice session, was not real.
"Ok, he's got you. What do you do now?"
no subject
"Not scream because that'd get you off too much, wouldn't it, sicko?"
Anger flashed across Drakes face and squeezed the whip around her throat like a python.
Diana gagged and her free hand clutched at the object choking her, trying to loosen it's hold. She managed to shoot her gun at his stomach, but again the only effect it had was sending a shockwave through his body. Drakes cold eyes shone with sadistic pleasure.
no subject
But it looked like he was getting his hold on her, and it wasn't pretty. So Hit Girl, despite herself, was up, and her staff was embedded deep into Drake, every force she could muster pushing it right through before kicking up at his chest and breaking his hold.
no subject
Diana rubbed her neck and took in a few lungful’s of air before speaking, looking at Hit Girl gratefully. “Thanks.”
Laughter traveled to them from the spot where Drake lay. “So, the girl’s got game?”
Diana looked from her gun to Hit Girl. “So, what should I do now?”
no subject
Probably. And you know what? Maybe that wasn't such a bad thing.
"When in doubt?" Hit Girl shrugged, and then a REAL gun, Overlord Zetta's waylaying killing gun, was in her hand. "Go big."
And now Drake was going to get a blast akin to a rocket launcher.
no subject
"He'll get back up." Diana muttered with a scowl, but she did seem relieved. He wouldn't be back up for awhile, first the flames would have to extinguish, then he'd have to recover. Which in a real situation would give Diana plenty of time to run. And that was the best she was hoping for.
Soon enough though she was back to being Diana, smiling at Hit Girl. "Thanks again. I think you see why I'd not perform so well in hand-to-hand stuff now." She waved towards the burning flesh that was Drake. "So, how do I make him vanish? Will him away?"
no subject
Their world was FUCKED UP.
"The moment you see HIM on the ship, let me know. I think we have enough psychos without one targeting my only waitress."
no subject
She kept her smile, teasing and mocking made the entire thing easier and helped her concentrate on having Drake vanish from the Sensorium.
"So, how often do you want to meet up like this?" Diana gave a wink to keep the conversation playful.
no subject
Of course she'd say that. Luckily, this was exactly the right time to tease Hit Girl. "Depends on how often you think you can handle it. You know some of what occupies my time, so figure out when you want to come here and we make it a regular thing."
no subject
"Well, you know me, I'm free most of the time but I'll have to see if my slave driver boss will give me a little time off." She brushed Hit Girl's fringe in an almost affectionate sort of way. "She can be a little demanding of me. I think you'd get along."
no subject
Diana especially, if she had to deal with guys like Drake all the time.
At this she snickered. "Yeah well, I guess she'll just have to be one waitress short sometime, huh?" The fringe brush was unexpected though. "Yoiur health comes first."
