The Fox and the -------? [Open Post]

The last time she had been in the open fields had been during the snowy shoreleave and prior to that she had been assassinating other Champions int he Fields of Justice. Regardless of location, it was always incredibly pleasant to simply be out and about and enjoying the freedom of the open world. The ship certainly wasn't the worst location she could imagine, but it was certainly no magical forest.

The nine-tailed female made her way through the fields near the town they had been dropped off at, simply looking around. She had already bought whatever luxuries and supplies she wanted and now she just wanted to enjoy herself before they had to go back to the ship.

By some coincidence of timing, Tarrant was re-entering the gates of the town just as Ahri was. The ship was acceptable accommodations as far as it went, but offered few real opportunities for a decent meal.

He turned as he became aware of her presence, giving her a bow as they approached each other. "Mes Ahri, wasn't it?"
theprophet: (Tarrant: uh huh.)

"Why not?" Tarrant returned her smile. "There are members of the crew that prefer to stretch their wings, when possible."

"Seeing the sights, getting the lay of the land... and, I admit, a brief break from being under constant company and observation." Not to mention how much more difficult it was to get a good meal while everyone was watching.

He sighed. "I'm afraid I'm accustomed to solitude. This ship has been an adjustment."

He inclined his head slightly. "Just so."

Then he paused. "By the way, this may seem like a non sequitur, but... do you know anyone on the ship who's fond of fish?"
theprophet: (Tarrant: hmm)

"It's related to a bit of a civil service project I'm working on. Unfortunately, I'm not overly fond of it. Ideally, I'd like to find individuals who can tell me which species are the most desirable for foodstuffs."
theprophet: (Tarrant: oh yeah?)

Tarrant shook his head. "As helpful as the locals may be, they're not going to be the ones eating the stuff. I'd prefer to solicit opinions from the crew, really. Perhaps you know of a cook or two?"

"A lead to look into, nonetheless." So difficult to solicit an informed opinion when one didn't eat conventional food.

"How are you finding your new surroundings?"
theprophet: (Tarrant: uh huh.)

Tarrant smiled. "I've been elected as a member of the ship's Council. I'm looking forward to making a few new improvements to the ship, as time permits. Aside from that, I've found the Library to be quite enlightening."

"Believe it or not," said Tarrant, "I prefer to maintain a lower profile in these kinds of situations. I would have greatly preferred being able to keep to myself. But you can't always get what you want BUT WHEN YOU TRY SOMETIMES/YOU JUST MIGHT FIND/YOU GET WHAT YOU NEEEED."

"Yes. That and the provisions provided in the Mess Hall aren't particularly satisfying, somehow."
