Conspiracy
Ildraniath had found a small park that was out of the way of most of the main streets. It was quiet, shaded. Perfect for a little get together. If people had read her message on the comms, they ought to show up. And if they didn't, she would figure out another way to proceed. Even if she had only a handful of people she could rely on, she would press on. Better than inactivity and waiting for results that never came. She knew patience, but this? Was simply waiting for the sake of waiting.
She folded her hands into the sleeves of her robes and waited, stone still. Once they arrived, she'd have a few words to say to everyone. And then they could begin bandying ideas and organizing.

Arrivals
Re: Arrivals
There were also times that Kaya could definitely NOT sit and wait, and this was one of those times. She recalled having feeling similar to this when that Yeerk had been given the OK, and how she had worried about the potential harm of the crew. Looking back, there had been so little she knew about, and that had wound up blowing up in her face later.
Now though? With lies and mistrust and a person being tortured that was the very person that had stopped her that day? Kaya was done with playing nice. She wanted to see what rebellion had to offer again.

He shifted his newest purchase in its scabbard, still not quite used to the added bulk at his waist.
Re: Arrivals
Re: Arrivals
Anyway, it couldn't hurt to show up and see what was going on.
Re: Arrivals
This time, however, she wasn't sneaking on site so her cloak wasn't set to camouflage. Instead, it displayed the blue and gold colors of her own Craftworld as she approached. She wasn't prone to talking just yet, though.
Re: Arrivals
Re: Arrivals
He stood next to Jaime, absently drumming his fingers against his mechanical arm.
Re: Arrivals
Oh, he hates her, and will do so forever, but he hates the Daligig more. He wants to at least hear her out.

She had interest in what they had to say and she had little doubt there would be others that would as well. Thus she intended to commit every moment of the meeting to memory and record it to her knowledge crystal.
Re: Arrivals
It seemed he wasn't the only one that felt like this, and by the time he made it over there was already a small group gathered. He slipped into the back of the crowd, folding his arms over his chest and waiting for things to get started.
Re: Arrivals
Not that Jamie was detached or uncaring or anything. It was just a little hard to imagine someone fixing up a house and then being part of a rebellion. But that, he supposed, was what war did to people. "Is Victoria around?"
no subject
Not to mention it isn't exactly the first time he's gone from a quiet home life to fighting for a cause, but he can always mention that part of things later. He shook his head. "No. We're supposed to meet later to see what we can find for the house. She...doesn't know I'm here. Not yet."
no subject
"I see. So she's not part of this? Is that... all right?" After all, they could die in this attempt. And while he didn't know the precise relationship between the two of them, he imagined Victoria would be upset to learn that something had happened to Jamie.

"I don't know if she saw the message for this on the Omnicoms or not, to tell ye the truth. It...we'll need to talk about it, what to do, once I've an idea what's going on."

They still had more questions than answers about this war, even now. But he was going to get to the bottom of this, dammit.

Although she was in favour of rebellion for the most part, she was patient and she was practical. If it looked as if people were going to act recklessly or too quickly, she'd be there to caution them. Someone had to be the voice of reason.

And it was only a matter of time before he came up with a plan.
The Basic Gist
Re: The Basic Gist
"All of you are here today, because you realize that our current state of affairs is intolerable. That we cannot continue to place our trust in a people that have already proven they cannot be trusted. Our leaders have not communicated with us nor have they put forward any plan of action. This is unfortunate - and I would like to take this moment to say that I am not opposed to our current government and leadership so much as I am their inaction and refusal to effectively communicate with us. If they wish to begin communicating and planning, I welcome their aid and knowledge with open arms."
Ildraniath paused and let her gaze sweep over the small group.
"We all have our own... unique talents. We are all here because we were 'chosen'. So. Let us show the daligig why. But before we can take a step in that direction, we need a plan. We need information. we need an advantage. Leverage. I would like to begin pooling our information and begin organizing teams - people to examine neuropathy, the command deck, the city, the daligig themselves, anything which might give us an edge or provide us with key pieces of information. We need to know how they operate, when they are vulnerable and how we might be able to wrest control of the ship away from the daligig. Permanently. I would like to let you share your thoughts, ideas and any information you might have before we continue."
Re: The Basic Gist
He held out the small holographic sphere he'd been palming since he arrived. "And I've been mapping all known unrestricted areas of the ship as part of my regular patrols. I think I may now have a good a map as we'll ever have of that area of the ship. It includes escape routes, cutoff points, that kind of thing. Could be useful if we could get the Daligig out into the open."
"I can also do a little surveillance, if required -- it's not usually my area of expertise, but I do know how to stay hidden, and I've got a series of monitoring probes I can put into use. If we could sneak them into the restricted areas where the Daligig are, they might prove useful."
Re: The Basic Gist
"Explaining my abilities may take some time, so in brief: I can make people overlook information, or convince them that false information is the truth. The location of a strike force, for instance, or the true intent of an assassin.
"Given access to an individual, I can compel them to reveal the truth, regardless of their wishes. However, the process is generally... unpleasant for the subject involved." He smiled, as if at some private joke. "I can read the approach and intent of an enemy from the flow of power aboard the ship. Among other things."
Re: The Basic Gist
"I bounce around the med bay, since I'm not a licensed nurse, but I am a healer," she said. "I am also a waterbender, so any situation with just the smallest bit of water can be used by me, and even if there isn't any, I carry water of my own in a pouch. Besides that, I'm quick, agile and fast, able to use a sword and a gun up to a point."
Re: The Basic Gist
Allenby couldn't help but give Tarrant a suspicious look. She was a lot less inclined to give him the benefit of the doubt than that Raz kid. It sounded like it would give them a real edge, but she hoped like hell he'd never decide to use it on anyone in the crew.
"I'm a real good fighter," she said, raising a hand--for once, it wasn't boastful or even cocky, just a simple statement of fact. "I got a Gundam, but I'm just as effective on foot if my enemies are too. And I'm a decent mechanic too; I'm in the Engineerin' department and I can build stuff like beam weapons." She held up her beam ribbon as proof of that. She remembered her thoughts from a moment before. "Even if Command did wanna work with us, we can't count on them even being around to lead us. The Daligig shoved half of them back into the pods, and the captain was one of 'em. So we really don't got a choice except to get started ourselves."
Re: The Basic Gist
"If we all list our own accomplishments and skills we'll take all day. It'll be easier to collect a list or discuss this later. First we need to devise several plans of action. My idea is that when we are ready to act we should take over Stacy and assault the Daligig on board the ship at once. The chaos should make it easier to overpower them. Obviously, we need more information and for that we need recon. For now we should focus our energy there and then elaborate and change our plans from there." Although she started off annoyed, Kerrigan quickly settled into the business at hand. She spoke coolly, clearly, and from experience.
Re: The Basic Gist
Even if he didn't like fighting, it was becoming ever more clear to him that the Daligig were using everyone for their own purposes. And those purposes might not include everyone on the ship staying alive.
Re: The Basic Gist
"I talked to one of the locals. She couldn't say a lot since we were in public, but she did give me a note. Says we have a lot more to look out for than just the Ohm. There was one other thing too: Yavek is not to be trusted."

Wait a second... Allenby raised her fists slightly. "How is it that the other GIA guys didn't see anything wrong with the Ohm?" she said. Her thoughts moved quickly as she talked. "That story they fed us about our worlds bein' gone. Is that even true, or are the recordings of that just a bunch of fake memories to make us cooperate?"
Allenby knew that road led to a slippery slope--you started with what if this was fake and ended up at what if my entire life was written up by Stacy, but it was too strong a possibility in her mind to leave it unsaid.

He frowned, crossing his arms in thought. "As always, we need more information. I'll volunteer to join Neuropathy and investigate things from there. Maybe if I can get access to higher-level systems, I'll be able to uncover records like the one Sakura showed us. Or find some clues about what's really going on."
no subject
"What about those probes ye mentioned? Could other people use them if you're not around? If one of us were able to put them in one of those restricted areas while ye were working elsewhere, it seems to me we might be able to get some of that information faster."

"I'm Jaime Reyes. Not man of you know me, mostly because I keep to myself on board. But I recently managed to get in touch with the Ohm. Like, directly contact. I'm not going to say how, but communicating with them was. . .difficult. They don't really understand the same way we do. They communicate through emotions. They don't understand, at least in our way, that they're fighting a war. Or even who the Daligig are. But when I asked why they destroy I got hit by this wave of sorrow and anger. It's all I know so far, but maybe it'll help."

"Is it possible, then, that this whole war we're fighting was manufactured by something else? Why?"
Open Floor
Re: Open Floor
"As a councilmember, I have no military power -- but what I can offer is my skills and strengths as an individual. And I absolutely believe it is necessary to do so. Our would-be masters put down our predecessors without remorse; there is no reason to believe they won't do the same to us. Together, I believe we can forge a plan to cut ourselves loose from their influence."
He smiled, a touch of gallows humor in his expression. "And obviously, I'm willing to stake my life on that belief."
Re: The Basic Gist
She was at least glad a council member was HERE, but he was also new. How much would that matter to the other members?
"I wish we could consult the other members, but with the shake up recently with our captains and some heads of our departments gone, ship morale is at a low. If anything, this is the perfect opportunity to gather information about the Daligig and muster some support and allies against them. We need go take advantage of this window now. The question is, what exactly do we do?"
Re: The Basic Gist
"We have some sort of oracular device aboard the ship, don't we? That Tapestry. I don't know how useful it's been so far, but it could bear some additional examining. Surely an object that's supposed to help us claim our destinies may have a thing or two to reveal about how to best go about it." Not that Tarrant was predisposed to believe some kind of alien wall hanging could reveal the future to them. But he'd seen some strange things on the ship and besides, it was another avenue to pursue.
Re: Open Floor
"This comes from a restaurant owner I've met here, and it might give us a future if we do this. We have a radio frequency from another GIA planet that's likely to ally with us, and I was told we'd be able to get information from their signal. We should work on tapping in."
