I believe that eventually we'll get what we're after [Open]
Hana had, of course, been napping when he’d felt something that stirred him.
Slowly, he opened his eyes and yawned. Rubbing his face, he sat up and ran a hand through his untameable mane of hair.
He could have sworn—There! He’d felt it again. Suddenly wide awake, he pushed himself up off the sofa he’d been resting on and stood still, waiting for the feeling again.
It was faint. But it was there. A pull. A call. And he knew it. He’d been waiting for it. Hoping for it.
He looked around. He was alone aside from aside from Taro, who was napping up on one of the rafters. Clearly, he hadn’t felt anything.
Well, he wasn’t really alone, because he was at Ruffs place, so the ghosts were here. He watched them to see their reaction. Most of them were pretty set on their own business and a few were curious about what had suddenly woken Hana up (because he had a reputation of sleeping like one of them), but none gave an indication of sensing the same thing he had.
But he was certain- Yes! Definitely this time. A little clearer. More desperate.
This time, a few spirits stirred and looked about confused before turning to Hana for confirmation. He didn’t say anything, he could feel something stirring within him and he wasn’t sure if he should let it out.
Summoning his resolve, Hana broke into a run and burst out of the front door, making his way down the street like a shot. The spirits called after him, but he ignored them in favour of that weaker cry that tugged at his soul.
**********************************
It seemed like forever but he followed the calling, it growing stronger and stronger until he reached the Weapons and Possessions Lockers. Hana knew this place. He’d been a million times looking for…
Well, needless to say, he’d never found it. And he’d not been back since the robot battles.
But today, something was different. From within was a feeling that practically screamed for him to come closer. It was so familiar. It coiled around his soul and beckoned him.
As he went inside, he walked with purpose. His previous visits where often desperate, disorganized searches and always fruitless, but this time, he knew exactly where to go.
Hana didn’t know how long he walked in the locker, or how far in, the place was huge, but he did know he never felt lost, the call told him exactly where to go.
Finally, there. On one of the lower shelves. Breath catching in his chest, he crouched. This was it. The moment of truth. He didn’t realize he was shaking until he raised his hand to gently push aside some kind of sword and see what lay behind it.
There it stood there. So bold and clear some far part of couldn’t believe he’d ever missed it.
A mortuary tablet.
Hana suddenly became aware of something wet trailing down his cheeks and he didn’t know he’d been holding his breath until he let out a sob. The feeling was now pulling him with such desperation he felt part of him might tear off.
His fingers reached out and wrapped around black, deceptively simple looking object. From within the smooth, black carving a wave of emotions washed over his soul.
It was so happy to see him. And he was so happy to see it. And so sorry he’d not found it sooner. So sorry that he’d ever given up. How could have been so cruel and thoughtless?
The tablet wrapped his guilt up in understanding and forgiveness.
Hana pulled it to his chest and wept openly for what seemed like hours as the soul from within embraced his.
Once his face was completely tear stained and droplets of salty water had coated the top of the tablet, Hana opened his swollen, red eyes and looked at the object he’d pressed against his heart. A grin of pure joy broke out across his face.
“Hey, buddy.”
“I missed you.”

Hana was laid on one of the patches of grass in Ruffnut’s garden, grinning madly up at the sky. He’s completely immersed with chatting the ghosts around him, which obviously means to a lot of people he appears to be laughing and joking with himself, but it seems Hana couldn’t care less, because his face holds a look of total happiness.

Feet churning up soil she was watching him intently excited for the opportunity.

"Pretty good. Don't beat up Ruff too bad!" She called out.

She jerked back and tried to duck around it looking for an opening.

As it was turning out, training with Morgan was actually making her watch her opponents much more carefully.

As Ruffnut came around for another attack, suddenly Hana’s weapon seemed to move by itself, shifting his arm into a position so it could block her. In fact, Hana turned his head to look at Ruffnut just after making the block as if he’d just realized where she was.
For a moment, two eyes appeared on the skull of his weapon and looked at Ruffnut before vanishing again. Hana used this moment to try and bash Ruffnut with his spikey shield.
no subject
In the split second before impact she'd at least put them up to defend her vitals.
Shaking off the pain she grinned manically apparently thrilled by this and began running in an arc around Hana, circling him faster and faster in an attempt to find an opening. It was another one of her experimental techniques that could go horribly wrong.
When she thought she saw her moment she lashed out once again this time with her left, trying to throw him off before she'd hammer it home with her right.
no subject
Well, she recovered pretty quickly. That was good.
"Don't wear yourself out Ruff!" She called out.
no subject
When she came in for the attack, he threw up his shield then widened his eyes when he saw it was a bluff and had to move his head to narrowly avoid her right fist. It just grazed his cheek and he felt the zap of her power travel painfully across his face.
Quickly, he threw himself backwards to avoid anymore hits and took a different stance. No more defending. Time to attack.
With sudden agility, Hana ran at her, ducking at the last moment to vanish from sight and reappear just underneath her less than a few steps away, coming up with a powerful vertical slash.
no subject
In this case she barely lunged out of the way of the vertical slash in what looked to be a clumsy dodge. Then again fifty percent of Ruffnut's moves looked clumsy even if they were practiced. It was just part of how she moved.

The match would be over soon if the viking didn't use her head.

Next came a series of lightening quick attacks, one after the other, the onslaught was endless. And fast. It seemed the weapon wasn’t the only improvement in Hana. His speed, his endurance, even his form and physical strength seemed to have increased.
And his skill. No longer was he wildly swinging his sword around and hoping for a hit. Years of experience seemed to have taken place over one night.
There was still that flash of playfulness in his eyes though.
no subject
She was just as amazed as she was thrilled. Hana's new weapon was several levels of cool and with how confident he was while using it, he seemed like a whole new man.
Seeing another opportunity she jammed her helmet up and into one of the strikes rushing forward hoping to land a solid strike on him while he was focused on the helmet which was now stuck on his sword. It was just a seconds worth of distraction though and who knew if it would even work.
no subject
Granted, Hana was no Overlord, but for Ruffnut, who was aspiring to be one, it was a start.
No point in cheering though. She was too busy watching how both of them moved.
no subject
With a flash in his eyes, as soon as he felt the hit and saw the lightening dance across the surface of the spiritual shield he retaliated with a massive slash of his sword.
Hana’s close combat skills were certainly something else now.
no subject
Slowly she rose to her feet again winded, catching her breath and trying to stand up straight again, she was impressed! And determined to keep going till he was satisfied as well. A cut in her shirt displayed where she would have been sliced if Hana hadn't blunted the edge for the spar and she was definitely gonna have a new bruise there.
no subject
But she was paying careful attention to what happened next. What Ruffnut decided to do next depended on how she used her own instincts. If she didn't use them wisely, teh battle would be over pretty soon.
no subject
Hana grinned at Ruffnut from over his weapon and began chuckling, dropping his whole stance and defense. Totally relaxed despite the threatening blade still attached to his arm.
"Well, what do ya think?"
no subject
"Totally awesome!!!!" And she felt pride in having helped him show off. "Dude you are gonna be so bad ass!"
no subject
She shook her head. "It was pretty awesome if you like all that flash and skulls and shit, very anime. Can't complain though."
no subject
Hana blinked confused at Hit Girl's comment and looked at his weapon before casting Hit Girl a wary glance. "Oh... Um... Thanks? I think..."
He just couldn't catch a break with her it seemed.
"It's not supposed to be flashy it's just... What it is."

But there was a smile creeping on her lips, and she walked over, punching him in the arm. "Congratulations, man. I'm glad you have your strength back."
no subject
When Mindy came over though his smile grew into his naturally large grin and he gave a sigh of relief. “Heh, thanks.”
He turned his head to speak to his weapon. “See? Told you they’d like it.” And suddenly the thing had eyes again.
