If You Need a Doctor, I'll Examine Every Inch of You [Phys Evals; Open]

Ever since the medical briefing on the comms, the medical bay staff has been preparing for an influx of appointments for physical evaluations, as well as a few walk-ins. After that, the hunt will be on for those who've been skipping such appointments.

A few of the staff members are going about their regular duties, expecting patients or simply biding time at the coffee machine until they're called on.

Soren frowned at him as he entered the information on his datapad, running through the questions one by one in rapid-fire succession. Clearly he just wanted to get this over with. "And what is the average lifespan of your species? Overage onset of puberty? Diet? Common ailments? Are you magical by nature, or allergic to magic in any way?"

Kais would be overwhelmed if he hadn't listened to this battery of questions plenty of times at various places on this ship. "Forty human years. We have no such stage in life. Our dietary requirements are similar to humans but need to be more concentrated. We are resistance to all diseases that has plagued our race in the past. We have no magic and are perhaps even resistant to it."

You know what, Soren wasn't even going to ask what 'we don't go through puberty' meant. Because he didn't want to know. "Very well. Stand up on that scale and we'll weigh you."

It looked like he might not even need the stool for this one, hooray!

It means all their hormones are intensively controlled so they don't deviate from the norm, Soren. Kais gets up and steps up on the scale. At a pitiful 5'6'', he looks like he might not weigh much but his muscles are fairly dense. Still doesn't weigh more than an average human though.

Soren dutifully recorded each piece of information. "Any unusual medical conditions or abilities we should know about? Vision, hearing, and smell all fine?"

This was where he had a problem. Maybe he should bring it now and he could get recommended to see someone else.

"....before coming here, I was hearing voices in my head telling me to kill."

He spat that out reluctantly, fearing that he was going to get thrown away in jail.

[facepunching]

That. Was the first thing Kais should have mentioned. Soren stopped in the middle of making his notations.

"And this isn't normal for your... species? Have you noticed any other disturbances? And have they continued while onboard the ship?"

Kais is a very nervous Tau. Do not blame him.

"It is not, no, and I have not noticed anything else. While onboard this ship, I have not been in a situation like...like the past."

[facepunching]

Soren totally blamed him.

"What situation are you speaking of?"

[greatergone]

"Being in the middle of a war." In the sense of being right there amidst the killing, obviously. Not cruising around on a ship waiting for the next inevitable fight.

"I hate to be the bearer of bad news," said Soren dryly, "But that's precisely the kind of conditions we're under now. We should look in this further to make sure you're stable for combat."

"I have never not completed my mission." It was a slight plea. All he knew how to do well was fighting and he didn't want that taken from him.

[facepunching]

"That's rather irrelevant, isn't it?" asked Soren. "The past is not an infallible indicator of future success. In any case, as long as you're stable, you have nothing to worry about."

Soren made a series of notes on his pad, then stared at Kais for a moment. "Any drugs, recreational or prescribed? Sexual activity?"

[greatergone]

He sure hoped he was stable. Kais didn't want to be taken away from any fighting...though what if that was one of the symptoms. NO time to start second guessing himself, at least.

"None to either of those."

[facepunching]

"Very well." Soren finished his notations. "I'll be notifying the doctors about your condition. Please submit a list of your past injuries to the department, as well as any conditions or events that may have contributed to these voices of yours. You may go."

"I understand. Please keep in touch." Expect a thorough write-up Soren. As if you wished to read it.
