I don't know what you're going to do, but I have work to do.
People dealt with things in different ways. In Mindy's case, she had continued severing people in the cafe. The hours were rough, her sleep patterns shifted, and she had told herself to take it easy after the ejecting from the Sensoriums by Overlord Zetta. Much like a bartender though, working in the kitchens meant hearing people's conversations, and that led to the topic most people were talking about: the Daligig, the former crew and the inevitable fight for the ship. This wasn't just gossip: it was legit information, and while she could skim over Howard's really long summary, it was Allenby's that hit home. Sure, she had that dumb phobia about tech that was irritating, but she was truthful.
And that meant training time had to happen. NOW.
She didn't waste any time either. Quick to the Sensoriums, Hit Girl costume on and the simulation began ten minutes after intense push ups, stretching and a little running.
She learned something in the past few weeks: the only way to really train yourself was to push, and that push had to keep going and going and make you better. So now she was back again against the Daleks, testing her ability to dodge and run and make things fall on them. Then came that duel with Aqua, where she got much, MUCH better with a blade. Then she was back to attacking SAINTS and the hark robots, making sure there were twice as many.
But the grand finale? Shadow Zetta, unstoppable, merciless, and constantly coming at her. Even in the aftermath of broken robots and a beaten Aqua, she couldn't come close to landing a hit on shadow Zetta that mattered. Yet here she was, going at it again and again, and somehow, the audience were smug looking members of the Daligig, looking like Ceasars at a lion feeding.

Not that she would ever tell Ruff she knew. That would probably embarrass her.

She looked thoughtful. "Wait, how old are you again?"
no subject
"Thirteen." But Hana was tall and well built for his age, easily passing as a 15 or 16 year old. "You?" He patted the shorter girl on the head.
no subject
That. Was such. A LIE.
"Dude, I will bite your hand off," she said, grinning. "I'm the same age as you! It's 's Ruff who's a bit older. I never really asked though."
no subject
"Seriously? But you're so tiny!" Now he deliberately patted her some more, as if pushing her towards the ground.
"You don't know how old your girlfriend is but you let her see you naked?" Hana looked so amused right now.
no subject
"I'm getting bigger," she muttered, and didn't seem all too happy about it. "It's the other reason I gotta keep training. Anyway, it wasn't about letting her see me be anything. I had more important things on my mind at the time."

"I didn't mean that. I was just--"
He didn't finished his eplanation, instead he just looked at the floor, feeling stupid, worried he'd overstepped somewhere he shouldn't.
It seemed like he was walking on eggshells around Hit Girl, he tried hard to make her like him, but when things started relaxing and going natural, she seemed to get mad at him.
"Sorry." He managed to mumble, glad his hair fell far enough over his face to mask how pathetically dumb he felt.
no subject
That was actually most accurate.
"And you know, that was exactly why I got my ass kicked by the Overlord the other day: stumbling in on his date."
no subject
He gave a small smile. "Threatening I can live with, even if you are scary."
"It's the thinking you're mad at me I don't like." He pouted and looked away, embarrassed. "I want you to like me."
no subject
Oh, he didn't want Mindy and him to greet the same way. Mindy had a tendency to be pretty hard all over.

Quick reflexes or not, Hana had suddenly wrapped his arms around the smaller girl to give her what could only be called 'a bear hug', lifting her off the ground. "Haha! Awesome!"
no subject
The bear hug was unexpected, but of course it didn't hurt her in the slightest. "Yeah, its pretty awesome."

Hana's fierce loyalty to his friends often manifested itself in him being quick to defend them and being very happy to praise and please them. Hit Girl was no exception.
no subject
All Hana needed to do was be in trouble a little bit, and Mindy would have been there in a moment. And if you pissed off Hit Girl, you better be a demon or something, or you would have your ass handed to you.

While Hana could certainly admit Ruff's good qualities and even mark her as good dating material for others, he'd never view her as such himself. They just... Didn't look at each other like that.
"Besides, it was obvious she liked you, she talked about you all the time when we hung out."
no subject
She shrugged, smiling a little to herself. "Heh. I should have known."
