System Shock - Fight the Power!
Gods could be too arrogant. Such was the case of SHODAN, who had turned the Pods into a nightmarish zone where she could freely amuse herself and torture those that had come here.
But arrogance breeds pride which breeds mistakes. Instead of killing everyone off, she had decided to do this more slowly – watch them suffer in a slow agony, and, therefore had not expected them to fight back.
It had been a lucky shot, really, one in a million, But one of the people present that day had accidentally shot a tiny, insignificant object. A tiny little drone, that, once it had been the source of the power damper, had fallen. The tables were turned, and the goddess had been forced to retreat from the pods.
Now she was on a panicked mode, not only because some of the other people on the ship had managed to work their way into her system files, using another AI to send pointless images and sounds to her, distracting her from her task, but they knew how they could defeat her and gain their powers back.
It didn't take long for the message to be sent out, as the word quickly spread. Find the tiny little creatures, and shoot them down. SHODAN couldn't work their shields properly and once they were found, it was only a short matter of time before the powers returned to an area.
It would take time, but, finally, the tide of the battle was turning on the side of the crewmen and women. In vain, she was throwing her all; even more strange robot creatures, attacking in packs, but with hope on their side, they could win this...
[OOC - OKay go for it! NPC players, feel free to NPC as many robots as you like. Players, once your powers return, feel free to make as much scrap metal as you like, no need to have people NPC for you if you just want to write tags of them kicking ass.]

"No idea. We're going with 'hopefully' and running with it from there," John grinned as he got himself as comfortable as he could get behind Zouichi. He could probably one arm the rifle but his accuracy wasn't going to be the best since he couldn't brace with both arms. "I'm good to go."
Some of the larger droids were climbing over whatever was left of the first wave, legs clanking, the red optical sensors glowing red. They had to be coming from somewhere, right?
Re: totally :|a
On the other hand, there were so many of them throughout the City that it was hard to avoid them. Zouichi took one hand off the handlebars to pick off two of several robots who had somehow gotten up to a nearby roof.
"By the way," he said to John, "If you see one of those power dampeners, let me know. They're kind of throwing off my game." You understood, right, John? So inconvenient :(
Re: totally :|a
He clung to Zouichi as the motorcycle roared through the City. John tried to keep his weight from pitching off to the side as Zouichi took some potshots at the robots on the roof that John hadn't even seen until they were already exploding. He guessed that was probably the whole superhuman thing Zouichi had going for him. Sixth sense for that or something.
John could barely hear Zouichi over his big gun and the helmet. He had to yell, "Sure. Got it, boss. You and the groove. I'm on it!" Zouichi made it sound like it was just inconvenient, like running your nice pair of dress shoes on sidewalk gum.
He took the opportunity now that Zouichi was (slightly) slowed down to heave up the rifle and take a few shots at some of the larger droids advancing on them. Some of the shots missed, the rifle recoiling against his shoulder as he tried to adjust to shooting around Zouichi and keeping from falling off the bike and not turning into an Earthling smear on the road. John managed to clear a path with the droids that he did actually nail, debris crunching under the tires.

At that point, two things happened. First: up ahead of them, several Terminator robots turned the corner, each brandishing their own laser weapon and apparently ready to fire. Second: Zouichi spotted a falling chunk of pillar, inclined off the ground. Thinking... thinking...
"Don't fall off, all right?"
He veered off to the side, using the pillar as a ramp to launch John and himself into the air and allowing them to sail easily over the Terminators (who by this time had begun opening fire). Somehow, without seeming to aim, Zouichi hit several of them with pistol shots as the bike began its arc downward. It was pretty epic, and maybe also terrifying.

Thanks, Zouichi, for that totally award-winning advice. Next Oprah here folks.
John by some stroke of luck didn't tumble off back of the motorcycle and splat on the ground below, something he'd wonder later if it was sheer animal instinct or he was just that good. Granted he wasn't superhuman like some people here, and he couldn't un-cling long enough from Zouichi's back to take some potshots at the Terminators, but hey, he didn't drop the rifle and he was still in one piece, which was already two for two there far as he was concerned. John could feel the impact rattle up to his teeth as the motorcycle landed on the other side, his hands white-knuckling around Zouichi.
Sorry, but he was more focused on "bikes aren't aerodynamic!" and less on the "this is so cool-looking" thing.
John recovered to try to cover Zouichi's back. The rifle flared blue as he aimed at one of the Terminators that was trying to run after them, the shot blowing off one of its legs and sending it teetering over on its side. The damn thing kept trying to crawl after them in jerky motions.
