Team Alpha: Awesome or Awesome? [Locked to Team Alpha]
Worf paced in the dining hall, waiting (with some impatience) for the team under his command to arrive. He was aggravated by the disrespect shown earlier by one Ron Stoppable and was concerned that the same flippant attitude would permeate the team. He would have to ensure that such a thing did not happen. A glance towards the entrance and a firm nod is the only greeting the first arrivals receive.

< It is very good to meet you too. >

Skidding to a halt, or trying to, the young Starfleet Ensign all but blushed a bright shade of red. "Ah.. I am sorry if I am late. Zhere vas much to do in zhe lab.."
Poor excuse, Pavel. Poor excuse.

"Be quiet...please. This is a meeting in order to determine our team's capabilities and how we can best serve the crew with those. If you wish to talk, do so on your own time, not on team time." Yeah, he might be a bit grumpy. He nods to the ensign. At least there was one person he could rely on to listen to him, right?
"Ensign Chekov, I assume? Welcome. Please join the rest of the team. I am Lieutenant-Commander Worf of Starfleet. I will be in command of Team Alpha." This last remark is directed at the assembled team in general. He examines his omnicomm with a frown.
"We seem to be missing Tobias Fangor. Has anybody seen him?"

Muttering something in Russian he pointed a finger at Worf trying to hide the fact that he was still a youth and not a Starfleet Ensign. "I vas not avare zhat zhere vas Klingons board zhis wessel."
And he was pretty darn sure the Captain didn't either! And he was their team leader? Pavel could become adjusted to it if he had to but right now he had a whole lot more questions than he thought he would.

"Hey calm down, he's not a Klingon." Chekov, wasn't he from...
Oh this was weird.
"Uh, are you?" Loren asked Worf.
no subject
"I am indeed a Klingon. And Ensign Chekov, I am a lieutenant-commander in Starfleet. I currently serve aboard Deep Space Nine." Chekov was from the past, he recalled. This made things even more complicated.
"I will answer any questions once we have gotten down to business."

Setting his jaw a little the Ensign gave Worf a little studying gaze. "Understood, Lieuzenant-Commander Vorf." My what an interesting future Starfleet seemed to have.

"Have you seen Tobias?" Loren asked Ax. "And am I the only person here who hasn't been in the military?"

"As I was saying...we will continue without Mister Fangor for now. If he is late, he is late. I, as I said, am Lieutenant-Commander Worf of Starfleet. I will be your commanding officer on this team and I expect everyone..." A significant glance at Loren and Ron.
"To do what is required of them and to obey orders when needed. We are in a dangerous situation and a delayed response or lack of response could result in your injury or death. Or that of your teammates. Do you all understand?"

"Ah. Miss Loren, I believe? Congratulations. You have volunteered to introduce yourself first. Please, tell the team your name and what abilities and skills you bring to the team."
no subject
"I'm Loren. I don't really have any skills but I can hold my own in a fight if I have back up, just ask Aximili's brother."

< My name is Aximili-Esgarrouth-Isthill, although I also answer to Ax, > he said, one stalk-eye swiveling sheepishly in Loren's direction. < I am capable of copying the DNA of any living creature I touch and taking their form for up to two Earth hours. I have a wide variety of morphs currently available, and I am also adept at tail-fighting, piloting space ships, and guerrilla warfare. >

< Just don't let him near a cinnamon bun. > he joked. < Anyway, I'm Tobias Fangor...sorry I'm late. I bascially have the same ability he does, although with a little less tail fighting and space ship piloting. I'm good at aerial coverage though. And my talons leave a pretty mean gash when I use them right. >

"Billy Cranston. I work primarily in the engineering department. Medical equipment, communications devices, weapons, and collection equipment are among the things we've built." Good so far.
"You'd probably never believe it, but I served my hometown as a part-time superhero. Stacy currently possesses the device storing my powers and only allows me to carry it when she wills it, so I operate under the assumption that I'll be dealing with dangerous situations without access to my powers."
He sucked in a quick breath and continued. "I compensate by training in my few spare hours, though scientific pursuits remain my forte---which isn't to say that I always succeed. My insatiable curiosity has been a fatal flaw at times; therefore I strive to utilize caution in our missions."
He could've just said 'I'm sorry I almost killed us by getting too friendly with the hallucinogenic plants, Commander, and I won't make similar stupid mistakes here if I can help it', but that would be the easy road.

"At zee Academy," he continued trying not to shift on his feet, "I vas top of my class in stellar cartography and zransporter zheory." Doing the work and explaining things was so much more simple than introducing ones self! "I am also quite skilled in advanced zheoretical physics. Um.. aside from zhat I know basic combat, first aid, and other skills required of all members of Starfleet."
no subject
"Finally, as I said, I am Lieutenant-Commander Worf. I am adept at piloting various spacecraft, am able to operate virtually any weapons system on board Federation or Klingon craft, I am an experienced command and security officer, I am adept at hand-to-hand combat and a good shot with a phaser."
A pause.
"Very good. I only have a few more things before you'll be allowed to mingle a bit a get to know each other. We must, after all, establish trust in order to function appropriately as a team." He pauses again, looking over everyone again for a moment.
"Given our disparity of skills, it seems we are a rather multipurpose team and I will suggest as much to the captain. We will undoubtedly serve best in taking on problems that are not designed for specialists. I hope that you will all do your best to get to know each other. Expect a training exercise of some type in the near future in order to test your skills and to help bring anyone who lags to the level of the rest of the team. Remember, we are only as strong as our weakest member. Are there any questions before I release you to meet each other and mingle?"

It was easy for Ax to slip back into military behavior. Of course, that was technically where he belonged. He was an aristh, he had "signed up for drill camp".
Maybe the structure would help remind him of that.
