Screw the height restrictions

Allenby hated the Sensoriums, a fact she was willing to make known to all and sundry whenever the topic came up. They gave her the absolute creeps... one of the benefits of being ejected from Starfighter Command was that she didn't have to show up for PT in the hated chambers every morning. If she had to go in there for any reason, she could yell at Stacy for as long as she wanted before getting on with it.

Besides, why did anyone need Sensoriums for training on foot when there were so many great places in the City for it? Hell, there was everything from the Great Wall of China to a whole amusement park! And it was easy to get around the little helmeted robots that ran the place to shut down the rides. The roller coaster, for instance, made a great running track, and was damn fun to ride when she wanted a break.

So for much of the 'day' Allenby could be found either running along the rollercoaster track and doing various martial arts moves in mid-air, actually riding a ride, or sitting on one of the benches glowering (because she always made sure to spend at least half an hour a day thinking hostile thoughts at Stacy).

"YOU'RE KIDDING RIGHT?" she yelled out from her position. "YOU KNOW YOU'RE SUPPOSED TO USE A CART TO GO AROUND?"

"WHAT'S THE POINT WHEN I'M FASTER ON MY OWN?" Allenby yelled back, giving Lash a thumbs-up. Okay, that one might be an exaggeration but who cares, really? Not anyone named Allenby Beardsley, that's for sure!

"THAT'S WHAT DUMB PEOPLE SAY!" she replied back, turning her head in a 'oh gosh lady you don't know what you're talking about' way.

"YEAH?" Allenby leaped off of the roller coaster to land on top of a ride closer to Lash. "And you know a lot about dumb people, is that it?"

"Well I did work with a large gorilla by the name of Flak for most of my childhood, so yes." A ha! Take that. "There's a certain creativity to be taken before it just becomes super dumb."

"And exactly what is dumb about usin' a roller coaster as a running track?" Allenby crouched down, one arm slung over her knee as she looked down at Lash. "The robots turn everything off as soon as someone jumps outta the cars. It's completely safe!"

"Why not just use a normal running track?" Lash shot back, crossing her arms. She'd make a joke about hamster wheels here if, well, she knew what they were.

"It's not a question of if it's safe or not. It's a question of why would you even do it? There's mountain and lots of normal terrain around the city, must you stop anyone's fun from using the roller coaster?"

"Oh, I train on the Great Wall sometime," Allenby said with a shrug. "But come on, this is way more interesting to use as training equipment! Besides, it's not like there's a lot of people here all the time. I'll just go on a different thing if someone wants a ride."

She grinned. "And it's real handy for relaxin' once I'm done. It's the perfect training spot!"

"Perfect training spot if you're an idiot, sure," Lash answered with all of the tact if a 10 year old.

"Yeah? I bet you're just jealous 'cause you couldn't even try something like that," said Allenby, with all the maturity of one.

"Yeah I do much better than that," she answered back. "Not to mention I don't need anything to be able to climb that thing properly. Also..." she pointed to a triple loop twist on another nearby roller coaster. "I could do that one without falling off."
