(no subject)

Inventing a new spell; a most tricky and daunting proposition. Beyond most wizards. Lupin flattered himself by thinking he had a chance, but if pressed, well, he had helped with the Marauder's Map, had he not? He knew a thing or two about Defense Against the Dark Arts, and this was not dissimilar.

Besides, what did it hurt to try? (Besides the very real chance of an injurious backfire.)

Lupin came to the City, seeking out a place by the river where he (probably wrongly) thought no one would venture close enough to be harmed by his experimentation. Once there, he sat down on the grass without much regards for his dignity, and began writing on the book he had liberated for such a purpose.

"Protego Minutiae," he began, writing the words down as he spoke them.

Crucible peered down on the man with idle interest, his fear and alarm clear to the dragon as he moved slowly out of the water a distance down the river from the wizard, "You need not worry, I mean you no harm,"

"Indeed? Interesting then," He commented in turn, giving the man time to recover from the initial shock of seeing such a large dragon as himself. From his reaction he gathered that either the dragon's of his own world were quite hostile, or he knew only tales of such things.

Crucible dipped his head in acknowledgement as the other further regained a measure of composure, "Such are the ways of different worlds it would seem. I myself have studied much of the nature magic upon Krynn in my time,"

The dragon dipped his head to the affirmative at the wizard's question before uttering a few short words in the draconic tongue, a sphere of light forming before them both by way of demonstration.

"Few wizards from Krynn require wands to perform their arts, no dragon would need such a tool however," That's not to say that some wouldn't make use of the spells stored within such wands in their other forms should they desire.
