Inventing a new spell; a most tricky and daunting proposition. Beyond most wizards. Lupin flattered himself by thinking he had a chance, but if pressed, well, he had helped with the Marauder's Map, had he not? He knew a thing or two about Defense Against the Dark Arts, and this was not dissimilar.
Besides, what did it hurt to try? (Besides the very real chance of an injurious backfire.)
Lupin came to the City, seeking out a place by the river where he (probably wrongly) thought no one would venture close enough to be harmed by his experimentation. Once there, he sat down on the grass without much regards for his dignity, and began writing on the book he had liberated for such a purpose.
"Protego Minutiae," he began, writing the words down as he spoke them.

He'd come down to the river - really, there was a river on the ship, that was amazing - to have some time to think. He figured it would be better to clear his head here, were there would likely be less people then the city.
Turned out he was half-way right, as there was only one other person, an older man, writing something in a book. Also speaking to himself in a language Terry didn't understand. But that made no sense, wouldn't the ship's translators take care of it?
"What is that, Latin?" Terry said to himself - or, he thought he had. He hadn't realized he'd said it out loud, and not exactly quietly.

It was Bronx, with his advanced night vision, that spotted Lupin first.
"Bronx!" she exclaimed, in a belated attempt to stop him from disturbing the wizard. She didn't realise that Lupin had already met the ship's gargoyle residents. "I'm sorry. He won't hurt you."
Not unless he had a good reason.

So, seeing someone else here and doing what he was doing was a bit confusing, to say the least. "Umm... what are you doing?"

"A diary?" he asked, voice half-joking to catch his attention.

Hope its not too late to throw him in here?
Observing the human and his actions for a moment before he spoke, "A wizard at work I would assume?" He commented to draw attention to his presence as his gaze went to the other's notebook.
Of course not!
