On your broomsticks! [OPEN]
Following the instructions given to him by crew members here and there, Cedric stepped through a green archway tucked on a corner of the fifth floor and entered a grey void. He closed his eyes, concentrating on the sort of place that would be perfect for a day of flying. He imagined a bright grassy plain, a large lake, and a forest off to the side. Vague memories turned into vivid images surrounding him, so thoroughly convincing that he really believed he'd been taken from the ship and placed on a field back on Earth. It was quite a convincing illusion
.
All it needed now was the key piece: a group of brooms. He thought for a moment on which brooms to provide them with. Firebolts were the world standard, but he'd never known one well enough to be able to picture it accurately. The school brooms, Shooting Stars, were nice and safe for new riders but not quite reliable. In the end, he knew his own broom best: a sleek Nimbus 2001, gifted by his father. As long as he instructed the fliers to go slowly, they should be safe on those brooms.
Visitors would find Cedric side-mounted on a broom in his black and yellow Quidditch robes, gliding just slightly over the grass. As soon as he spotted them, he'd greet them enthusiastically and move to touch down. "Hi!"
((ooc: wide open for everyone to join in! We'll be doing some group exercises too, so thread around! Fly as a group when you're ready!))

"I just don't know how I could help you in return. You seem to have already mastered everything."

Excited at the prospect of having a usable broom again, Cedric looked up and kept asking questions. "What did you do after you graduated?"
no subject
"Ah, well I'm a teacher actually, a Professor at Mahora Academy in Japan. It's actually kind of like a mundane-magical school, as there's teachers of all kinds, both magical and non-magical." explained Negi. "I'm in charge of 3-A, a class in the girls school."

Cedric took that information in, less surprised than before but still impressed. "You teach them magic? Is it spells, or do you learn other tricks?"
no subject
He chuckled at that. "Actually I'm officially their English Professor. But I do some magical combat training on the side."

He hadn't practiced dueling in a while, just preparation for the tournament. Playful challenges were marks of the old days.

"It's not like the Wizarding Dueling that I was shown by the Professor, because of the way fights are done up. But we do have tournaments for fighting in both the old world and the magic world."

Come to think of it, he should probably learn as well. "Have you been teaching here at all? Are there even lessons? Not everyone's of age..."

He nodded. "I do some basic magical training from my own world, as well as martial arts. I do regular classes for the kids who want it, but most of them know that I'm just a professor back home. I can give you a basic rundown of the Chinese art that I use."

"I'd like that, thank you. No sense in not learning what I can." Even if it would be new to have such a young person as his professor.

"So...give it a few days?"
no subject
"And you probably want to be well rested and fed for it. It's fairly intensive."

But he was managing! Somehow.

It did sound like a nice place to live, but he wouldn't want to intrude.

"So I can simply walk there tonight and ask to sleep?"
no subject
He tossed Cedric a rainbow embossed keycard. "That's your key. Just hold it up and the door will unlock."
no subject
"Thank you. So...will I find work to do around the house? Earning my keep?"

He had quite a bit of practice with food spells. What better way to practise in the morning before class? They all had to eat sometime.
