Medieval World!
Medieval World was one of the largest year-round renaissance faires in the multiverse.
Minstrels and bards wandered the streets, vendors sold ridiculously overpriced period clothing, jewelry, weapons, and turkey legs as big as a human's head, and the royal court mingled with the commoners. There were events everywhere: falconers, magicians, belly dancing, hypnotists, weapons competitions including swords, axes, maces, and bows, camel rides, Washing Well Wenches, fake jousting on wooden 'horses' suspended on ropes, and real jousting.
As was typical of these sorts of events, anachronicity was everywhere, as were patrons in all sorts of fantasy costumes.

Re: Sword fighting
When Aqua charged with the strike, Hit Girl was quick to brace against it, wincing a little. A short sword against a longer one meant blows definitely made more impact. So Hit Girl knew it was time to change things up. She zipped to the side of the girl and, using the wall as leverage, leapt high and came down on Aqua so quickly and forcefully it looked as if she had done it three times fast: in fact, she had.
She had gotten THAT fast.
Re: Sword fighting
"Very good," she said. "You made first blood."
Re: Sword fighting
"I train a lot," she said. "I think you're holding back a little though. I want to see more of what you can do."
Re: Sword fighting
"All right," she agreed.
She wasn't going to use much in the way of magically-assisted attacks, and she was going to try to hold back on throwing up barriers. But those limits didn't leave her completely out of options. She charged at Hit Girl, making a powerful strike to try to throw her up into the air.
Re: Sword fighting
Once the all right happened, Hit Girl thought she was ready, but suddenly there was a blow that knocked her hard in the air. There was a moment of being stunned (why not) but Hit Girl was not one for leaving herself open too much. She tucked herself into a ball save for the sword out, making sure she had a moment or two before she could right herself on the ground again.
Re: Sword fighting
BRING THE PAIN!
But she could recover, at least somewhat. The Short sword was tensed, but she was going to at least get out of this position. She hit the ground and rolled, and then brought the momentum back at Aqua, going for head shots now.

Re: BRING THE PAIN!
Hit Girl knew that the short sword could only take so much punishment. The impact of this particular attack actually knocked her on her butt pretty hard, though she scrambled back up, taking a breath a moment, then striking forward with a jump and coming down on Aqua hard.

Re: BRING THE PAIN!
She could pick it up, but she figured it would break if she used it any longer, and she really liked it. She sighed, giving the girl a bow.
"I'm done, you win," she said, shaking her head.
Re: BRING THE PAIN!
"You're good," she said. "I had to think hard to keep up."
Re: BRING THE PAIN!
"You're excellent at this stuff: even if I picked a decent sword, it wouldn't have made a difference: I would have been too awkward with it because of the size difference."
She shook her head. "But it was a good fight! My hands are still sore."
Re: BRING THE PAIN!
Re: BRING THE PAIN!
She grinned."Been doing this long?"
Re: BRING THE PAIN!
Re: BRING THE PAIN!
Re: BRING THE PAIN!
"That sounds like a good idea," she admitted.
Re: BRING THE PAIN!
And as if taking a note out of Morgan's book, she gave a bow, sort sword still in hand.
