Medieval World!

Medieval World was one of the largest year-round renaissance faires in the multiverse.

Minstrels and bards wandered the streets, vendors sold ridiculously overpriced period clothing, jewelry, weapons, and turkey legs as big as a human's head, and the royal court mingled with the commoners. There were events everywhere: falconers, magicians, belly dancing, hypnotists, weapons competitions including swords, axes, maces, and bows, camel rides, Washing Well Wenches, fake jousting on wooden 'horses' suspended on ropes, and real jousting.

As was typical of these sorts of events, anachronicity was everywhere, as were patrons in all sorts of fantasy costumes.

"Hey, baka Negi!" Asuna suddenly exclaimed, arms crossed while eyeing the child-teacher with a faux-annoyed look.

Asuna responded by ruffling the child-teacher's hair before starting forward. "You know I want a robe too, right? They're back in style now thanks to you."

"Yeah I realize that. You liked them a lot back in Magical World anyhow." chuckled Negi. "C'mon let's go find one that isn't peppered in stars."

"You're thinking of Konoka," Asuna muttered, her cheeks tinged with color while following after Negi. "We're getting you one that wasn't torn by a stake!"

"FFF was not!" protested Negi as they entered a store that was full of robes, both decorative and shiny, and plain ones.

"Oh hey, jackpot." and with that, Negi began to go through the robes, dismissing several off the bat for color, design or poor stitching.

"Maybe you should stick with your standard brown," Asuna suggested, going past the plain-looking robes and tried to find one that actually resembled her hair color.

"Think about it - one to wear during battles, one to wear when you're spending quality time with Sasami. 'Cause if you just get one, then that'll get torn up or ripped and then what'll you have? Total waste of yen and no way for us to come back here!"

"That's true, I wouldn't want to get one damaged," admitted Negi, checking his wallet with the standard issue currency that Stacy gave all of them. "And these are pretty pricy robes."

"Ex-actly!" Asuna agreed, grumbling at the price of a pretty green robe before putting it back. "We'll save the regular brown robes for whatever battle you throw yourself into, and the other one? Used when super-important people try overcrowding the bus during Orientation Day."

"That's true. Speaking of which, we should put out that we've got space on there again," remarked Negi. "Oh this is nice."

It was a nice deep crimson red with a intricate crest on the side with gold and silver trim.

"Sasami would like this for you," Asuna noted with a light grin. "Come to think of it, so would Konoka and over 1/2 the class."

After a few seconds, the girl came across a dark orange-like robe with a similar crest on the side, with a blue and green trim. "Now this is a robe!"

"H-hey, just cause I fill it out well," stammered Negi, rubbing his head.

"That one's nice! It matches your hair."

"Yeah, you fill it out well for a 10-year-old kid!" Asuna retorted with a broad grin, rubbing his head.

"...Thanks, Negi. Let's get those other brown robes, huh?"

"All right, let's find some of those plain ones then."

Asuna quickly turned around and pulled Negi with her to the front, where she distinctly recalled finding some plain brown robes.

"...Finding those shouldn't be a problem. What is would be you thinking it'll be a cakewalk advertising the bus like it's an apartment complex, and we're the landlords!"

"Well people are coming in less frequently, but I guess if we advertised it more, we'd be able to do something about it," admitted Negi. "We should put out another comm post after this."

"...We're not on the ship, baka Negi!" Asuna gave Negi a noogie mainly to resist sending him flying in the store.

"Everyone else who came down are doing what you should be doing - relaxing, having a good time with their friends and being themselves! We'll take care of the announcement or whatever when we're back on board and Stacy's resumed our trip-not before! Got it?"
