PIRATELAND

An area built over a bay, there is no actual solid ground anywhere to be found in Pirateland. It's a land made entirely of wooden walkways, nets to climb, and of course, wooden pirate ships to explore. And then there are the rides: A pirate ship that swings nearly upside down; bumper boats; a ride that starts out as a Tunnel of Love but quickly transitions into a drunken pirate-themed It's a Small World.

And then, of course, there are the souvenirs to buy in the many assorted gift shops. Flimsy plastic swords, pirate hats, stuffed parrots. Or why not go get drunk down at the tavern?

((OOC: Like with Kittenland, feel free to come up with your own rides and attractions at Pirateland in addition to these ones!))

Ian kept up the confused and unable to read a map act until he saw Devlin sneak back out. "Did you find anything?" Ian asked, keeping his voice quiet as they walked. They could hardly look at the treasure while they could be seen and Ian looked around for a hidden corner somewhere.

The smug grin on Devlin's face said it all. Waiting until they'd gotten to a shaded walkway with little surveillance, he pulled some of the beads out of his pockets.

"There's more too," he said quietly, "but I want to wait before pulling that stuff out." But he did produce the two swirled lollipops he'd managed to snag, and he handed one to Ian.

Ian chuckled at the sight of the loot, but was careful to keep it quiet. "That's a good haul."

He took the lollipop. He wasn't especially keen on the things, but when Devlin had gone to the trouble to get two of them, he wasn't going to refuse one. He was sure none of the staff here would notice two lollipops going missing.

"What do you say to sneaking in to another ship and putting our loot in their hold?" he said between sucks on his lollipop.

Devlin thought about it for a moment before answering, "Some of it. I saw some of the kids coming back from a parade or something. Not all of them could get beads. They should get some."

He liked making trouble, but ultimately, he liked helping other kids, especially ones who seemed to have it tough like he had.

Ian smiled at Devlin, looking for a moment like a proud parent. "That's a great idea," he said, patting him on the shoulder. "Lead the way."

There was a group of kids on the side of one of the ships. The ones who hadn't been so lucky at getting the free handouts were obvious--they were staying back, hiding their lack of loot from their friends. Leaning over the side of the net, Devlin dropped a couple of beads down to them, along with some doubloons.

Ian leaned over to watch and smiled as he watched the kids excitedly pick up the fallen beads and dubloons. Unfortunately, his parrot wasn't securely attached enough on his shoulder to cope with being turned nearly upside down and it dropped off. Ian reached out a hand to catch it, but he was too slow. "Oops," he said, and pulled back. "The parrot didn't talk much anyway," he said, still smiling.

Devlin watched as the kids found the parrot and immediately started playing with it, their laughter rising up to the nets.

"I think it did just fine," he decided.

"I think the parrot will be happier with them," he agreed. "I think we've done well, and won't be walking the plank today."
