Still got those mother nature's blues [Open]

Dean had switched off on tracking the Dalgig for the time being, and other Security were keeping an eye to the other visitors. Only stopped by the Brig for some prisoners to get their walking papers.

He stopped by the Observation Deck, but there was nobody there to see. Why would there be? Mom and Dad were long gone, couldn't save Adam. Cas wasn't around anymore either. Would have been good seeing Bobby, or maybe even Ellen or Jo, but of course, never get that lucky. Old Winchester luck again, screwed, blue and tattooed.

He decided to head down to the Sensoriums. Part of the reason he wanted to compile information on the all of the past threats to the Ship was to set up a training program to develop strategy, and best methods for taking them out. Right now, he got some details on the giant bugs that some of the oldest crew dealt with. Which meant busy pumping shotgun shells into one. His eyes were singularly focused, his expression hardened.

This was easier. Just focus on doing his job, don't bother with any of that other crap. Who needed it? Certainly not him.

Zouichi hadn't been expecting to run into the Ohm the instant he set foot in one of the Sensoriums. He drew his pistol in one smooth motion, using a single gravity shell to core out the thorax of a marauding insectoid about to dig its claws into him.

"Doing some light calisthenics?" he asked.

Zouichi considered this. "Dedicated of you. I thought everyone was down on the Obs Deck, getting reacquainted with their friends."

As the Ohm recovered and came after him again (distributed nervous system?) Zouichi caught its front leg, tearing the limb off and swinging it hard to knock the remainder of the creature's legs out from under it. It crashed to the ground, off balance.

He tossed the disabled Ohm into one of its fellows, bowling it over. "Well, that was the warning, after all. There was no one I knew, either."

"And endanger the crew in the process," Zouichi said, looking grim. "Not all of the people who were ejected from the pods were friendly. And I understand the 'good' version of the ship's AI has gone more or less silence since."

Couldn't it have spent its energy say, making sure there were not hordes of flesh-eating living zombie men in containment rooms somewhere?

A few short words brought Rhiow's personal shield up as she stepped into the Sensoriums. She was eager to avoid the ships' visitors, didn't want to get attached to anyone who might be leaving, and was especially disheartened that Iauhh or Urruah hadn't shown up.

"No-one woke up for you either, I take it," Rhiow said when she spotted Dean. The simulation was high-stress, high-danger, but Rhiow's shield kept her safe from stray shot and Ohm bits.

For the first time in a long while, Rhiow thought of her beloved Huahah and closed her eyes, ears tilting to the side. Even if they managed to put their world back together, she would still be gone. Some things there was no recovering.

"I'm sorry anyway," she said, her tail curled tight around her feet. "What do you make of our more conventional visitors?" she asked, changing the subject.

"I've been keeping an eye on that one," Rhiow said dryly. "You're right, he does very much like giving orders. But I also don't think they mean us any active harm." She paused. "I'm not sure if it's very comforting that I also don't think they'd try very hard to save us if we were in trouble, either."

Sam had hoped. He'd gone down to the Observation Deck and stood around for a bit, watching. Stayed until it was pretty obvious that nobody of theirs was coming. Which was harder than Sam wanted to admit it was. He loved Dean, but it would have been nice to know that somebody else from their world had been saved. Other than Castiel.

He was certain they were, but maybe Stacy just hadn't been able to find them in time.

Finding Dean wasn't that difficult, end of the day. He knew his brother as well as he knew himself and killing things sounded like a good idea. So he looked through the Sensoriums until he found the right one, staying outside the doorway. Nothing could actually hit him if he stood there and Dean was aiming the other direction.

"I didn't want to break your concentration." There were enough Ohm that Dean had to be concentrating pretty well.

Still, Sam stepped into the simulation, bringing up a weapon that was similar to the one Dean was using. It only took a moment for him to get to Dean's side, covering him as he started shooting the Ohm as well.

Sam's jaw tightened at the reminder, letting it help him focus for a moment before he shook his head. "No." Just putting it out there for them both. "But that's just about usual, isn't it?"

Sam turned, firing into an Ohm that got a little too close. But the thrill of it was good, even if it wasn't all that dangerous at the end of the day. "We should have a barbeque at the house," he finally said. "Maybe nobody from our world showed up, but we have people here that are important. It might be good to remind ourselves of that."

It wouldn't kill them. That was all Sam was worried about. "You know what I mean. They aren't Bobby or Cas, but we have people here. No reason to close ourselves off when it's not like we're going to have to leave."

"I meant right away." Like they always had to back home.

Sam tracked one fast Ohm, getting the speed down before he shot and took a moment to reload. "And...I'm not sure I want to go back, anyway."

Sam shook his head. "If what Cas says is true, there's...not really going to BE an after." Not for him. "There's not exactly a way to manage to get Lucifer back in his cage without somebody going down with him."

Which meant Sam. "And no, we don't have to hijack a ship. Just...there has to be a choice, right? They won't just shove us back, right?"

"That's what I'm saying. The best way to keep it from happening, to keep all those people safe, is for us to...just not be there."

There were plenty of hunters in their world. It wouldn't go undefended. And without Azazel to start things up again, it would be a long time before there would be another threat like this one to their world. "And I'm positive that Bobby and some of the others are in the pods. No reason they have to go back, either, once this is all over."

Everybody they loved could be safe.

"They're there." Fuck, Sam was NOT going to let himself start thinking that they weren't. "They're just as good about keeping under the radar as always, though." He managed a half smile. "We were never really good at that."

See the number of times they'd had the police after them.

Sam nodded, looking around. "Maybe the GIA will NOT be jerks, for once, and give us a planet or something to recolonize. The ones who can't or won't go home." If any of them actually could, that was. "It'd be interesting, that's for sure."

"Dude, Tattoine sucks for farming." Hello, desert planet. "I don't know what it would mean. Maybe we could just hitch a ride with someone else or something. I just know that...if I have a way out of it, I don't want to go home."

"They were moisture farmers. Basically condensed water out of the air and...that is so not the point." Sam was way too much of a nerd, apparently. "And...I don't know, man. It's not like it's something we need to decide on right away anyway."

"We have some. It's getting to the end point where it's safe to freeze it, so we should probably use it up." Which meant a lack of meat for a while, but there were people who were always working on raising animals that could be eaten.

Honestly, Dean's lack of willingness to celebrate was part of the reason Sam wanted to do it. Dean hadn't been the happiest guy back home, not for a while, but hoped to dig Dean out of his funk a little bit.

"Give it a week, maybe? I figured I'd make a post to the people we'll want around most. Set aside some of the meat for Rhiow." Since she probably wouldn't want anything cooked.
