Bendytimed to after Vilgax plot [Open]

Everything hurt, which was why Devlin opened his eyes. Taking a breath was painful--his nose was broken, and when he tried to take a breath through his mouth, he felt the pain from his broken ribs and sternum. He tried not to, but he breathed shakily, as if he was going to cry.

Devlin tried to lean over, surprised.

"Like what?" he asked. "I always hear about you fighting him. You're a legend." And legends didn't wind up in the hospital for a month or so with broken ribs.

"First time we fought, I didn't notice till later but I bruised like three ribs. The second time I almost broke my wrist. The list goes on." said Ben. "Lots of pain."

"Believe it. Good thing your Grandpa Max is so good at patching people up. Never thought about it until he revealed he was a Plumber. Till then we just thought he was a guy who fixed sinks and clogged toilets."

"I knew he was a big deal," Devlin said. "But it was weird thinking of the great warrior when I saw the old man who kept a disco ball in his RV."

He paused. "Don't ask. At least, that's what Kenny told me."

Devlin laughed lightly, though he had to stop when his ribs hurt again and he had to try to breathe normally. It was nice knowing there were some things that stayed the same.
