A Housewarming Party for a Castle

Celestia's new home was a grand residence indeed: the citadel of Camelot, a place which featured heavily in the myths and legends of Earth. Not that Celestia was familiar with these myths, of course.

Guests were free to wonder around the castle at will, but Celestia had decided that today, the courtyard would be a lovely place for everypony to get together. There were a few tables set up, with the treats Hoshi and Applejack had so generously made, and Rarity's beautiful decorations. And later, Celestia planned to invite her guests to ride on the Ferris wheel that happened to be located just outside the castle.

The crewmembers had suffered a great loss recently, but she hoped that this would bring them some small amount of joy, and the comfort of friendship in this time.

[[ooc: Sorry this is a day late guys, uni ended up being much more hectic yesterday than I expected. Anyways, I've put up a subthread for Celestia greeting visitors and rides on the London Eye. Those that ICly helped out this party can also set up sub-threads for the food tables/games/whatever as well, if you guys want to. (Edit: The sub-thread for Hoshi & Applejack's nibbles is up here!)

But other than that, feel free to start your own threads and tag each other. People can also wonder around and explore the castle - it's the BBC Merlin version of Camelot, but only the citadel itself (as opposed to the whole city).]]

Morgan didn't teleport to Applejack's table. That was impossible. He simply appeared so fast that he almost seemed to have. That wasn't a supernatural power, that was just Morgan being a great lover of food in general combining with Morgan being a great lover of Applejack's food in specific.

"Showing up here was worth it no matter what happens!" he all but cheered.

"It's that pretty, is it?" Applejack asks him, gently prodding one of the displays with her nose to place it back in the center. "They'll be mighty pleased to hear it."
morganknight: (smirking sort of)

"I meant the food, Applejack," he said, rolling his eyes but with a smile. "Not that it doesn't all look lovely, because it does, but..."

The hardest part would be restraining himself. Although maybe he could make up for it... "Hey, do you have any seeds here?"
appletastic: (So. Cute.)

"Right, o'course!" Applejack laughed it off. She headbutted the pies just a little closer, then lifted a leg to shift her saddlepack. The contents made the soft noise of rolling seeds.

"I sure do. I always carry 'em with me. Can't trust that something won't happen to them these days.:

"May I see one? Something'll happen to it," he said playfully, "but it'll be a good something."
appletastic: (Sad eyes)

[personal profile] appletastic 2011-09-04 11:01 pm (UTC)(link)
"You're sure about that?" Applejack hesitated for a second. Seeds were a precious resource that she guarded fiercely, never knowing when she'd be able to round up more. But she also knew that Morgan hadn't led her wrong so far. A moment's gaze into his eyes confirmed that, even if she had to strain her neck.

"Well...okay, if you're sure." And she turned to offer the pouch to him.

"I wouldn't have said anything if I didn't," Morgan said, as he carefully dipped his fingers into the pouch for one. Just one.

He cupped it in his hands, shut his eyes, and concentrated, gently guiding and nurturing its energy with his own as he let a minute fraction of his chi pour into it.

"That's all there was to it," he said, lifting his hand up to reveal the essentially-unchanged seed in his palm. "But when you plant it, it will grow fast, strong, and well as a promise."
appletastic: (Up and at 'em!)

[personal profile] appletastic 2011-09-04 11:45 pm (UTC)(link)
Applejack couldn't help but trust him, and so she believed with everything she had that it was true. With a little smile, she bumped her head against him in thanks.

"I'll see right to it," she promised. "I'll even...well, back home we give our best trees names. I'll have to think of one."
morganknight: (oh really?)

[personal profile] morganknight 2011-09-04 11:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"What sort of names?" The idea didn't sound crazy to him. Trees were living things too!

"Well my favorite was Bloomberg," Applejack grinned, remembering the little tree. "He was a gift to my family in Appleloosa. Then we've got Little Mac, Appleseed, and Gala next to the barn. They're sweet."
morganknight: (nervous?)

[personal profile] morganknight 2011-09-05 10:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Hmmm. How about Rose?" Morgan said, a little hesitantly. "Would that work?"
appletastic: (Default)

[personal profile] appletastic 2011-09-05 10:45 pm (UTC)(link)
"Rose. Huh. Well...we've never had too many roses. But I can see it. They'll be juicy red ones." Applejack stomped a hoof against the ground. This was going to be exciting---fastest tree-raising ever!

"Now how many times a day should I be watering? Any different from any other tree?"
morganknight: (amused)

[personal profile] morganknight 2011-09-06 12:04 am (UTC)(link)
It would give him some small comfort to have a proud, strong tree named after his unofficially adopted sister.

"You could probably judge that better than I could. It will still need all the nutrients and water a growing tree needs, it'll just need them faster!"
appletastic: (So. Cute.)

[personal profile] appletastic 2011-09-06 02:08 pm (UTC)(link)
"Right. So I'll come by every few hours, then," Applejack nodded to herself. "I'll start the growin' tomorrow. Gotta give it my full attention! You can come on by, of course."
morganknight: (hee!)

[personal profile] morganknight 2011-09-06 11:27 pm (UTC)(link)
"I will! I want to watch and see how it turns out!"

Not that he didn't think it would be magnificent, but details! Details mattered!
appletastic: (Let's roll)

[personal profile] appletastic 2011-09-07 01:25 am (UTC)(link)
"I'll call you whenever I see somethin' interesting, then. When it sprouts, first apple, first leaves..."

That sure sounded nice. And not necessarily in that order.
morganknight: (grin)

[personal profile] morganknight 2011-09-07 04:20 pm (UTC)(link)
"Good. Now I can eat pie without any guilt at all." And to prove the point, he grabbed a piece with a grin.
appletastic: (Or maybe not)

[personal profile] appletastic 2011-09-07 11:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"Why would you be worryin' in the first place?" Applejack wondered. "It's not there to look fancy, it's there to get eaten."

People were being so strangely reserved about the food. Sure, there was only a little of it, but that's all the more reason to eat what you can! In her mind, anyway.
morganknight: (grin)

[personal profile] morganknight 2011-09-08 05:14 pm (UTC)(link)
"Because I've already had a pie all to myself already, and I want to make sure everyone gets a taste. It's worth it." He was making a point of eating slow and savoring, too. "Trust me, there won't be any left no matter what happens."
appletastic: (Ain't that sweet)

[personal profile] appletastic 2011-09-08 11:38 pm (UTC)(link)
"Then I'll just have to bring more 'round when your little magic tree grows," Applejack promised, looking excited by the prospect. "Maybe we'll even have enough for apple cupcakes!"
morganknight: (grin)

[personal profile] morganknight 2011-09-09 05:47 pm (UTC)(link)
"I hope so! I'd like nothing more than to get enough apples for everyone to be able to eat better than slop at least semi-regularly." As nutritious as the stuff might be, man, it just wasn't food.
