A Housewarming Party for a Castle
Celestia's new home was a grand residence indeed: the citadel of Camelot, a place which featured heavily in the myths and legends of Earth. Not that Celestia was familiar with these myths, of course.
Guests were free to wonder around the castle at will, but Celestia had decided that today, the courtyard would be a lovely place for everypony to get together. There were a few tables set up, with the treats Hoshi and Applejack had so generously made, and Rarity's beautiful decorations. And later, Celestia planned to invite her guests to ride on the Ferris wheel that happened to be located just outside the castle.
The crewmembers had suffered a great loss recently, but she hoped that this would bring them some small amount of joy, and the comfort of friendship in this time.
[[ooc: Sorry this is a day late guys, uni ended up being much more hectic yesterday than I expected. Anyways, I've put up a subthread for Celestia greeting visitors and rides on the London Eye. Those that ICly helped out this party can also set up sub-threads for the food tables/games/whatever as well, if you guys want to. (Edit: The sub-thread for Hoshi & Applejack's nibbles is up here!)
But other than that, feel free to start your own threads and tag each other. People can also wonder around and explore the castle - it's the BBC Merlin version of Camelot, but only the citadel itself (as opposed to the whole city).]]

"You might be right," he said in partial agreement. He playfully flicked her ear as he spoke and managed to straighten up his rumbled clothes in the meantime. "It's strange, I think. I was once told by a rather amorous man that a kiss was the dot on the 'i' of adoration. I did not know what he meant then, but I do now."
no subject
She giggled at the flick, and then blew gently into his ear. "He definitely hit that on the head. Those kisses of yours leave me out of breath, Nokosi!"
no subject
Nokosi slid an arm around her shoulder and pulled her into a hug. He nuzzled his cheek against hers, tickling her with the scruff on his chin that never seemed to grow past stubble. "As much as I enjoy the bit of praise regarding my skills at kissing, I feel compelled to know if you are feeling any better, Kaya?"
no subject
Even if they were definitely doing more than that.
She hugged back, her hands gently smoothing his scruff, then stroking his cheek with her closed hand. "Nokosi, being around you had never really ceased to make me feel better. I can honestly tell you that right now? I have to make myselfgo back because of how great you make me feel."
no subject
"Then I shall walk you back to Medbay and we can bask in that feeling a little bit longer, then."
no subject
Right now, no amount of suffering and/or death could kill that feeling.
no subject
"This almost reminds me of the Lunar Festival. If only there were fireworks!"
When the contraption churned to a stop, Nokosi helped her out of the seat and hopped off the platform to the ride. "When we have the free time, we should do something like this again, Kaya!"
no subject
She hopped off, into his arms. "This was great, really. Thank you, Nokosi."
no subject
"She did. We decided to hang them in the trees that make up our homes to represent our families, though there aren't any wisps here to light them up." And he wasn't really willing to put a candle in lanterns that small, either.
"So perhaps we will all celebrate when everyone has recovered from their injuries," he said, hugging the girl to him immediately after catching her. "And there is no need to thank me; it is not like I did it alone. You are responsible for your own happiness, too."
no subject
It was one of the things that made her happy to be on the ship, in fact. The hug alone made her happy that she really never felt alone on the ship, that she was aa part of it as the others were of her.
"I know that," she said, linking his hand again. "But I have you to thank, for giving that responsibility embedded in me. One of the worst faukts I have is seeing the best in others, but not so much in me."
no subject
"Perhaps I shall need to write a list, then."
no subject
She took his hand. "Besides, you're the one that needs the list: you're the most unlike others I've ever met."
no subject
"You think so? I admit I may be strange by conventional standards, but I do not mind."
no subject
Not that she minded him being strange: it actually attracted her more, not less.
no subject
He glanced at Kaya, a smile on his face. Even just a simple walk like this with her was refreshing. "As far as being a mystery...I am very open. If you want to know something, just ask me. I am very honest, I just am not very forthcoming with information about myself without being prompted."
no subject
She wasn't driven crazy by him as of YET, but then she was a bit biased, wasn't she?
"Well, I'll keep that in mind," she said, more than glad she had chosen her breath of fresh air from the medical bay here. "I'm very likely going to be very interested about things concerning you. Don't forget: you still owe me a rendevous at the Drunken Dragon."
no subject
"Ah, ask away. I have nothing to hide," he said with a laugh. "And I do remember. You are very interested in seeing me inebriated, right? It will be shameful, I will have you know." Not for him, but maybe for everyone else involved.
no subject
She laughed. "You know, maybe I want to see it by accident. I coudl ask and get the answers I want, but I feel like it would be spoiling something if I did, you know? But as for drinking, with all I've seen you do, I can't imagine why drinking would make you so different!"
no subject
Nokosi paused to consider her comment, his lips pushing up in thought. "Honestly, I prefer asking a question and receiving an answer. I think I am a bit impatient that way when it is concerning information. I think I may understand the thinking behind having such things be a 'surprise', but I wonder if that is such a good idea." After all, he'd seen plenty of things go horribly wrong in the city when one person found out some new information about another 'on accident'.
"But I am not so sure why I am different in those regards when it involves drinking. I suppose that the few things I am mindful around others about is brought out as well. Loss of inhibitions and all."
no subject
That did sounds just about how Nokosi would want things to be, so she figured she ought to ask him whatever she was she was thinking. "In that case, I should ask you something I've been thinking: how did you know how to romance someone, considering you only dated a few times? Or is that just your natural charm?"
She giggled. "So how do you think you are, minus inhibitions?"
no subject
"Ah...could you be more specific in your definition of 'romance'?"
She was talking about the way other people gave gifts to their lovers and took them to certain places. Said certain cute words and phrases, all in the pursuits of 'being romantic'? He could only assume, and if that were the case it made him all the more perplexed.
no subject
"Well, a lot of people have different versions of romance, don't get me wrong. They observe anniversaries and call each other names and all of that. I've seen it happen in my village. You have a way of surpassing it, like you take a direct route of being beyond convention. You just...you just feel your actions, and you just are amazing and sincere."
She smiled, showing him the note he had written to her: it was very worn, as if it had been unfolded and refolded many times.
no subject
Of course, being called 'amazing' brought a smile to his lips. Oh, how he loved praise, no matter what amount it came in.
Nokosi blinked in surprise when he glanced down at the note, then immediately laughed. "My strokes are very messy when I am attempting to write anything beyond symbols," he mentioned, as if that were the most important thing worth saying about the note. Suddenly he paused in mid-stride and leaned down to cover her mouth with his own.
It was a firm kiss with little of his earlier aggression. Instead, it was calm and focused, as if he were trying to convey something without using words. A gentle, barely-there kiss would have probably been far more appropriate for the situation, but practice made perfect.
"I was thinking about you," he said in reference to the note, closing her hand over the weathered paper as he spoke.
no subject
She giggled. "Your notes! All I cared about was-" but her words were stopped short when his lips met hers, when her feelings hit a pitch being around him, her hands wrapping around him for the moment, indulging in this kiss.
When they were apart, she turned pin at his words.
"I'll admit, I was in a bad moment before your note. I thought that the lovely things in the world were somehow dying, being around all of the pain and troubles of others. Then I read your note and was brought back to my safe space again. You reminded me life is never in a set pattern we would want, and when trouble came, to fight it, head on. You make me...want to be stronger than I am."
no subject
"I...am very glad to hear such a thing. Life is unpredictable but that is one of the joys in living it! Personally I would say you already are a very strong person, Kaya. And...that is one the things I like about you."
