After the battle, the warriors' task was over. Their job, for now, was to rest and recover for the time being.

The healers' job, on the other hand, was far from over. Some exhausted from the battle, others rotating in, they took to their bay and continued the process of treating the wounded. Some patients were free to leave in a few minutes, while others would have some time (or quite some time) on the cots. Their mission: relax. Stay as still as possible.

Unfortunately, the temptation of so many familiar faces alive and about would ultimately prove to be too great. Keeping track of this group was going to be a third task all its own.

[this is a free for all for all your injured! Have them socialize, be thorns in the medics' side, try to escape, or bring the medics together for some action. Just note in your post if you'd like a medic to visit your character---if not, it's time for a chat!]

"Yeah. We've only dealt with one so far..." Shoutarou shakes his head. "Not something I want to repeat anytime soon."

Zouichi looked thoughtful. "I can imagine it might be a little difficult, fighting one of your own."

Although in his book, pretty much any enemy was fair game.

"Well, he seemed to be evil from the get-go, not a former good Rider. Just out there for his own devices and dragging the term 'Kamen Rider' through the mud. Rider or not, though, he put the people of our city at risk, so he needed to be stopped."

"Ah. I assumed there was some sort of... screening process. To make sure those that became Riders would use their powers judiciously. So he gave all of you a bad name?"

"...a screening process would be useful, but... I don't know how it would be implemented. Philip and myself kind of just happened upon the gear thanks to some coincidence. Or fate. I never really thought much about questioning it." Not every universe can have sapient henshin devices who pick their owners. "Just those of us in Fuuto City, though not for very long."

"...People on your world gain their powers by random chance?"

Well, Shoutarou doesn't know the lengths that someone went to to get revenge, so as far as he knows... "Well. It seems to all go back to those people making the devices that give people power. I don't know where my previous boss got our gear for certain, but it seemed like a chance of fate that we encountered Philip, then he and I were able to become a Rider..."

"Sounds a little haphazard. What do you mean, a Rider? You're not telling me you fuse together or something, are you?"

"Most of the time, Philip just transfers his consciousness over, but there are times when we actually do merge into one being, yes."

Apparently, being a rider was intolerably weird. "How does that work? Do you still retain both consciousnesses? Or is that... combined, too?"

At least it wasn't Den-O, where crazy time-traveling demons possess you.

"I'm not really sure how, but Philip being a being made of data has something to do with it. Our minds stay separate, though."

"Phillip is a being made of data? ...is he an artificial intelligence of kind?" Wow, the things you learn.

"Er... how does that even work? Magic?" Why didn't any of the things on this ship make any scientific sense?

"...I think all the answers to those questions are 'it's complicated', at least coming from me. Philip's a person, though, not an AI." Definitely gotta make that clear.
