Holes and Patches [OPEN FREE FOR ALL]

After the battle, the warriors' task was over. Their job, for now, was to rest and recover for the time being.

The healers' job, on the other hand, was far from over. Some exhausted from the battle, others rotating in, they took to their bay and continued the process of treating the wounded. Some patients were free to leave in a few minutes, while others would have some time (or quite some time) on the cots. Their mission: relax. Stay as still as possible.

Unfortunately, the temptation of so many familiar faces alive and about would ultimately prove to be too great. Keeping track of this group was going to be a third task all its own.

[this is a free for all for all your injured! Have them socialize, be thorns in the medics' side, try to escape, or bring the medics together for some action. Just note in your post if you'd like a medic to visit your character---if not, it's time for a chat!]

Hoshi nodded back, grinning just a bit. "I'm glad for that," she said. Like him, though, she was used to much worse treatment from beybattles and other things and was also worried about how her friends fared after such a fight.

"A pleasure to meet you, Red Robin! I think I've seen you around, too!" Then, at his comment, she chuckled. "I believe you can make them happen if you just try hard enough."

"Likewise," Tim said. Then he managed a quiet, half laugh at her more optimistic statement, and nodded. "I suppose you can," he said. "Some of us are better at it than others, though." Himself, with mostly focusing on work? We was in the latter category.

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-09-04 04:02 am (UTC)(link)
At times, Hoshi wasn't sure if her optimism was accepted at times, but when it was, it just made her feel happier. "Yeah, I can get that."

While she liked to focus mainly on her team and other assorted things like that, she always made room to be cheerful.

Tim nodded to that, and finally allowed himself to move slightly closer to Hoshi. Not so much a sign of trust, but a sign of acceptance, now that they had spoken for a while.

"I can't say that optimism is a bad thing, in our situation."

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-09-05 07:17 pm (UTC)(link)
The motion of moving closer to her made her feel a bit more relaxed than she did. She decided to let this show with a bigger smile on her face.

"It really isn't. Yeah, we're pitted against odds unimaginable, but if you let all the negative things affect you... Well, you're not gonna get your world back any time sooner."

Tim noted the growth of smile, but his own expression remained relatively flat. He nodded to her, however, and said, "I suppose so. It's bleak, but not hopeless." Of course, he was also a much more negative person these days. It was harder to look at it like that.

The way that Hoshi tried to be on the ship was kind to everyone, no matter what they may or may not have done to her. Sure, she was worried about her family, friends, and her team, but that was no reason to not be in good spirits.

"Yeah. You've gotta have hope."

Tim actually managed a small smile at that. Mostly genuine, and a little bit nostalgic. "I guess so," he said. "I imagine you do well for the crew's morale."

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-09-05 10:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"You know, I've been wanting to do a little workshop about raising the crew's morale. I know that some of us have had hard knocks in life, but to have someone there that would willingly listen to their problems would mean a lot to someone," Hoshi commented with a smile of her own.

Tim nodded to that, expression back to normal pretty quickly. "Of course. For a lot of people that can make a difference," he conceded. For his own part, it had helped him in his worst moments. To talk to the Titans and to Dick about what was going on in his life. But for someone like him, that was more about trust. "I imagine it could help a lot of the crew, especially after a mission like this."

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-09-05 10:58 pm (UTC)(link)
For Hoshi, her normal expression was a smile, so it didn't change much. Although, it did grow a bit more when he approved of her idea. "Then, consider it done! I'll see about holding an open session to try to boost the crew's morale."

She paused, thinking about how she'd go about it. "Maybe I could bake a few things, too. Because, really, how can you be sad when eating a homemade cookie?"

Tim nodded. "I can't imagine you'll get turned down. It'll help some members of the crew, and that's an improvement."

His laughed quietly, dryly, at that, and said, "And I suppose that could help as well." She was almost too cheerful, but Tim didn't mind that much.

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-09-06 06:25 am (UTC)(link)
"Yep, pretty much!"

Hoshi chuckled, still remaining to be cheerful. "It's settled, then. When I get out of here, I'll do some planning to get it in motion."

Tim nodded to that. "Right. Sounds like you have a plan of action then," he said, voice a bit lighter.

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-09-08 05:28 am (UTC)(link)
Hoshi noticed his voice becoming a bit lighter, noting that was a good thing. "Do you have anything planned after this?"

Tim frowned. "Repairs," he said idly. "Taking care of whatever damage I can-- for myself and for the ship." As a member of Engineering as well as keeping his own supplies in shape.

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-09-09 04:14 am (UTC)(link)
"I probably have a few things that need fixing, too," Hoshi replied. She had to make sure that her bike was in tip top shape as well as her Driver. Did her Twin Maximum Drive cause it to malfunction or was it something else?

"Did you need any help with your share of repair?"
battorch: ([red robin] thinkthink)

[personal profile] battorch 2011-09-09 05:26 pm (UTC)(link)
Tim nodded to her own thoughts of repair. They likely all had a lot of work to do, all things considered. There was nothing to do about that other than to simply work on it, for the time being.

"Hn. I'll be fine. But thank you."

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-09-09 05:44 pm (UTC)(link)
"All right, then." Hoshi nodded to him and she felt a little sleepy all of a sudden. That was no reason to not try to think of other topics for the conversation at hand, right?

But, the problem was that she couldn't think of anything more to say. Maybe the pain medications she was placed under were finally taking their effect on her.

Tim watched the change in body language quietly, at first, before he let out a sound not unlike a clipped laugh. He shifted, ready to step back again, and said "I should leave you to recuperate."

[identity profile] radiantcourage.livejournal.com 2011-09-09 07:56 pm (UTC)(link)
Hoshi blinked for a moment before nodding a bit. "All right. I'll see you around the ship, Red Robin."

With that, she fell asleep, the toll of the battle visible on her already.
