Holes and Patches [OPEN FREE FOR ALL]
After the battle, the warriors' task was over. Their job, for now, was to rest and recover for the time being.
The healers' job, on the other hand, was far from over. Some exhausted from the battle, others rotating in, they took to their bay and continued the process of treating the wounded. Some patients were free to leave in a few minutes, while others would have some time (or quite some time) on the cots. Their mission: relax. Stay as still as possible.
Unfortunately, the temptation of so many familiar faces alive and about would ultimately prove to be too great. Keeping track of this group was going to be a third task all its own.
[this is a free for all for all your injured! Have them socialize, be thorns in the medics' side, try to escape, or bring the medics together for some action. Just note in your post if you'd like a medic to visit your character---if not, it's time for a chat!]

He visibly brightens at the mention of Earth, a smile appearing on his face. "You're from Earth as well? I'm from Scotland, myself." There's a pause, then he adds, "I'm from a wee bit earlier than Alex, though."
'Wee bit' is a rather large exaggeration, in this case, but he doesn't volunteer that part of things yet. Instead, he shifts his position in his chair ever-so-slightly, grimacing as he does so. "Sorry. Where was I? Oh, aye. Ye mean Tavros? Or maybe Luna...although I don't think it was the Doctor. He was awake again by the time everyone was getting married."
His mouth pulls off to one side in a slightly rueful manner, as he remembers that particular part of things. "But, aye, I'd not be surprised if he was. He'd gotten upset before when his friends went back to the pods. It's not an easy thing to find out about."
no subject
"I was around for Tavros' repodding, but I was mostly talking about Luna. He seemed like he was really bothered by the way she disappeared. But I can't really blame him. He mentioned he might want to follow her back to her world once this was all done with... and I hope he gets that chance." Zouichi sort of doubted their worlds could, in fact, be restored, but if they did, Alex deserved to return to a world where he'd be able to at least try and forget what had been haunting him.
He paused. "There are five, uh, Zords, aren't there? I don't think I've met all the Rangers."
no subject
"Aye, I hope he does as well. If ye can actually go back to someone else's world. There's not too many ways I can think of that you'd be able to manage that."
At the question, however, he shakes his head. "There's more than five, if ye count the others who had their own Zords before waking up here. But only Billy's can be added to the formation." He purses his lips together thoughtfully for a moment, then holds up a finger in a 'wait a moment' gesture. "At least, I think so. There might be some other way to bring them all together if someone sat down and worked it out, though. Who have ye met out of us, though?"
no subject
Zouichi frowned a little; Ranger organization sounded confusing. Also, what was the point of combining like that, anyway?
"Let's see. Billy and Lash... I suppose I've met a fair amount of other people, but I couldn't really tell you if they were Rangers or not. And I've apparently met a Kamen Rider, but I guess that's not quite the same thing."
no subject
It would be nice if he could figure it out, he thinks. If there was some way to get the other Zords to work together somehow, they might be able to make another Mega Thunderzord to bring into battle. With a small grunt of pain, he shifts in his seat again, trying to find a more comfortable position. Maybe he should get up in a bit, if someone doesn't come over to take a look. Sitting's getting a bit painful.
"I'm afraid I don't know anything about the Riders, other than what I saw in the last battle. Hoshi might know, if ye know her. She's working with them now, I guess." He shakes his head again. "I don't know if I'll ever get used to the idea of lassies being in battle, but I've found you'll not be able to talk them out of something if that's what they want to do."
no subject
He raised an eyebrow at Jamie's last comment. What century did he come from? "Don't let Lash hear you saying that. Anyway, the most dangerous person on my Earth was a woman. I doubt anyone would have been able to talk her out of what she wanted, either."
no subject
Having met Lash, he figures Zouichi may be able to tell how those went. He flicks his eyes over towards the beds in the Medbay, a faintly worried expression creeping onto his face. Part of his issues with women fighting may stem from that 18th century upbringing of his, but Lash is also a friend, and he cares for her. The fact that she was hurt while fighting with him doesn't help matters much.
"Wish I knew how she was doing," he says softly to himself. Nothing he can do about it, right now, however, and he turns his attention back to Zouichi. "Was this woman in your world some sort of ruler, then?"
no subject
"I'm sure she's fine," said Zouichi, frowning slightly. "We're talking about Lash, after all." And if Lash was seriously hurt, who would she lord her superiority over? No one, that's who!
He crossed his arms. "A self-styled one, maybe. She was the head of the organization that declared martial law on the entire human population. They subjugated any national governments that resisted them and razed any rival corporations that might mount substantial armed resistance."
no subject
Zouichi does have a point though. It's Lash, so how can she be anything oher than fine? The Neoneotank exploding flashes before his eyes again, but Jamie shoves the thought aside, taking the turn in the conversation and using it as a distraction.
"Martial law on the humans? Oh, are ye from one of those Earths where there's mutants or something like that?"
d'oh, I missed this tag
Zouichi was a little confused by Jamie's question; on his Earth, there was no solid distinction drawn between baseline humans and humans who, through genetic accident or scientific manipulation, had gained greater powers. All were human, but some were psychic or enhanced through a virus that rewrote their genetic code.
"Mutants? I suppose you could call some of them that. The DRF believed they could bring about a new world by rewriting their genetic code, making themselves stronger and faster, capable of living longer. In my opinion, that was a misguided belief."
Hey, no worries!
"Oh, I see. Aye, well, they'd not be the first group that would be wrong about trying to change the world order. I've met the type before." He rubs at the back of his neck for a moment, trying to loosen it up before he stiffens up completely. "Although I hope ye don't mind my saying that it still doesn't sound like it was a good situation for your world to be in."
Re: Hey, no worries!
In general, most of the crew on the ship seem to come from slightly less distressing circumstances. And Jamie seems like a more or relaxed fellow, so...

Well, as fine as things were going to be knowing he was going back to Scotland and likely finding himself still sought after by the Redcoats, but that's more along the lines of a personal state of crisis - and then only if he actually got caught. Oddly, he doesn't really find himself too worried about what would have happened.
"I suppose I'll never know how things would have turned out. Maybe that's for the best."
no subject
"And how was it that you weren't on Earth at the time?" In his timeline, it was only in the later half of the 20th century that humans began exploring space, and those individuals were rather sparsely distributed. Somehow, Jamie didn't seem like an astronaut. Or cosmonaut.
no subject
"Aye, well. When I had left Scotland, it was right after a battle that we had lost. I was to go back to the same place. I can tell ye for certain there would've still been Redcoats there, looking for any survivors."
While he knew he had a chance to stay free long enough to elude capture and maybe make it to a boat to France, it was no means a certain thing. He hesitates a moment at the last question, realizing he's let things slip again. And while the Doctor seems a lot more open to admitting some things now - or at least showing off the TARDIS, until recently - he hedges a little in his reply.
"Er...I had met up with a man who had a spaceship and had traveled with him for a time."
no subject
"I'm... sorry to hear that. I was in the middle of a battle myself. At least, that's the last thing I remember before I ended up here."
Too late, Jamie; the Doctor had already blabbed about exploring moons or tasting the rainbow or something. Zouichi didn't really connect 'a man with a spaceship' to 'that strange fellow who calls himself a Doctor', though. There were plenty of people with spaceships here. He did raise an eyebrow at Jamie's words, though. Didn't anyone respect timelines or the Prime Directive or... whatever?
"Was it fun?"
no subject
There was quite a lot of excitement and adventure, and yes, even fun once in awhile. He misses it terribly sometimes, but not quite as much as he did before the Doctor woke up again. After all, with him around, there's bound to be some sort of trouble that the Time Lord will get into - and the rest of that does tend to follow.
Even so, there's a hint of something wistful in the smile that crosses his face then. "Maybe once we've defeated the Ohm, I'll have a chance to do it again."
no subject
"I hope you do. It sounds like you enjoyed it a lot... even if it was a little dangerous." He brushed at a bit of debris on his shoulder. "Anyway, I should probably stop taking up your time before one of the medics takes issue with me. It was nice to meet you, though."
no subject
"Aye, ye as well. Perhaps I'll run into ye again once I'm out of here." He half turns to take a look and see if he can find one of those medics when he realizes he still has the small gaming console in his hand. "Oh, your game!"
He turns back and holds the small device out for Zouichi to take if he likes before he man heads off.
