Lirath - Ground Battle
After dropping off some of the crew at Balisair, it was time for the crew to set course for Lirath. The situation greeting them wasn't the most promising.
The cracked surface of the moon called Lirath was one of its most unmistakeable features. One of the three moons of the planet Kehoe, it had been terraformed and served as a settlement for a hundreds of different species, some humanoid, some not. Despite occasional class struggles, environmental issues, and speciesism blocking their way, the darker parts of Lirath's past were largely left behind, and an era of peace and tolerance had reigned for quite some time. The only problems they'd had recently were with a terrorist group whose cause for their actions had been a mystery, but they weren't tied to any particular species or social group and had been likened to a cult and had largely gone quiet in recent years.
Now the peace on the moon of Lirath had been shattered by the invasion of the Ohm.
The capital city had been destroyed. Now, all that was left of the peoples of Lirath was evacuating from one of its smaller cities, one known as Smyteval. A desert city, existing in a valley in between a rocky range of canyons and mountains, even though it was in the low ground, the natural channels of rock served as bottlenecks for any Ohm attacking from the ground.
GIA squadrons patrolled in space, locked in explosive warfare, protecting the Bleed-gate that had been activated to see the evacuated ships to the refugee world, and a shield created by massively-powerful shield generators extended around the city and up into the atmosphere, creating a shielded tunnel so ships could escape.
Word had come that there was a vital weapon to be deployed on Lirath, one that needed to be destroyed, hence why the Transmigration 9 had been called in. Given the diverse crew, and the ships that were in its hangar, there was at least someone or something on board that could blow the weapon up if it did show.
There was no sign of it yet. Right now, there was just chaos, streams of evacuees boarding ships, armies of Ohm engaged with GIA soldiers outside the shields, and forcefields that everyone hoped would hold out just a little bit longer.
The crew would be following Leon's orders but finding themselves fighting side-by-side with GIA platoons, full of various species that were currently all getting their asses kicked severely.

What happened next was difficult to track. There was pain, a terrible yell---but strangely, it didn't inspire fear. Somehow his confidence and energy returned in full force, allowing him to dodge out of the way just before his opponents were done in.
Before he could react, he was hauled up by---hands, not claws, he forcefully reminded his panicked mind, taking a look to identify what had saved him. He saw wonderfully familiar eyes, and his heart soared. If he had to be honest with himself, he'd guess that Ronnae's kiss invigorated him more than her battle cry did.
"I think I have an idea," Billy answered breathlessly, unable to stop smiling. "Because I feel it too."
As he spoke, he reached an arm around her and fired a warning shot at something behind them. More Ohm. It was still going to be difficult to pass the larger creatures now speeding their way toward the Zords. Billy recognized them with a chill running down his spine. Tanks, deployed to tear his friends apart.
Listen, Billy used the comm ring to talk as he leapt back into action, his playful acrobatics returning with his renewed strength. It felt so much easier to twist and leap and slice now, much to his grim pleasure. I need to get back to my team. That tank is in our way and going to attack them. Can we block it?

With that, she was off in a dash. Speed clearly inhuman for someone donning such heavy armor and wielding two very large weapons with ease. How about we make them pay extra for all they've done sweetheart? her voice playful as she bit her lip, the thrill of combat rushing through her very being.
Smashing her two weapons hard enough into the ground to send a small shockwave that stunned a few grunts in front of her, she used the momentum to take a heroic leap up and over them, landing with a massive crash atop the tank closes to the Zords. Her weapons dug right through the thick shell on its head. She held on to them steadily as the Tank flailed left and right, trying to get her off it's back and thrashing foe and ally alike in it's wake, dangerously tearing into the things closest to it.
Your turn love! Show this overgrown bug that it chose the wrong planet to mess with! Of course she was confident in her lover's abilities! She wholeheartedly believed in him!

Billy sounded more confident than he felt. He had power, sure, but his lance, as sharp as it was, was a fairly short weapon. The blaster was powerful, but any shots he made would be deflected by the armor---
---yes, by the armor. That was it.
He started his own charge forward, flicking some of the blood and residue off his weapon as he ran. Three, two one, and he threw himself into the air, power boosting him far higher than an ordinary human could jump. In seconds, he'd twisted around to come at the Tank lance-first.
Billy collided with the target toward its back with a crack, quickly hopping up and dragging a line down. The beast roared and bucked, trying to throw them off, but he dropped down. He only needed a few more seconds---
"I think it's time you come out of your shell," he suggested lightly, firing and dragging a concentrated beam down the slices he and Ronnae had made in the armor. This was going to end in pain.

Ronnae had bounded off the behemoth, taking out a few grunts and Grenadiers that stood in her way as she hurried to look for Billy.
"Billy! Are you alright?!" she called out over the battlefield's sounds.

He managed to just barely jump, but he might as well have been thrown. The force of the fall left him winded when he crashed to the ground, but he was okay. Nothing was broken, as he'd kept his head safe. Rangers could fall from great fights without getting hurt too badly, it just stung.
"Y---yeah," he coughed from somewhere nearby as he jumped up, securing his grip on the lance and swinging at his next targets. "I've never been better." They were down before he could think about the pain too much. They were just in the way of his goal, the goal he was reminded of as he spotted a lost Tigerzord's massive head up ahead. He was still needed.
"Ronnie, I need to get to the Tigerzord. They're waiting for me," he explained, throwing himself right back into the battle in his way. Ronnae had cleared some, but there were always more grunts and their claws for him to hack off. You can come if you think it'd be best.

"Sure, anything you need love." she said as she walked over to him, wiping some of the blood that was caked on her goggles. She took them off for a moment to clean them off as she looked between Billy and the path to his Zord.
"It doesn't seem that far off, and I'm sure the others need you. You're their leader after all." even if it weren't true? In her mind he was. And it was something that she really admired about him and maybe it was one of the things that got her in a pleasant mood in more way than one. After all, a man in uniform and in command was a very pleasing sight!

"Jamie can handle them. I just need to bring more firepower," he answered, determined to show them exactly what he could do. A second later, his blaster was in his hand and he was running at them, shutting out everything but his task. "Out of the way!"
When they did not, of course, obey his command and get out of the way, he shot in all directions. That accuracy work had really helped. He used one as a footstool to hop up and shoot the next, flipped out of the way, and kept moving. Anything to keep moving. Stillness was an easy target.

very attractiverear with a pleased smile as she saw him take lead. She was almost a blur as she followed, charging at an opponent, cleaving them in two, intercepting another and repeating the action. If an enemy got too close to Billy, she'd intervene and smash into them at full speed, making short work of them.
"I can do this all day baby~!" her unrestrained drive was clear on her face, what hair wasn't flowing from the exertion of force was matted against her skin, her chest heaving up and down with each heavy breath as the fight continued. Sure she had gotten damaged, but she had been trained to ignore pain until the battle was over or she was dead. And dying was not in the plans this day!
With a mighty roar that bolstered her allies strength and vigor, she leapt right into a Tank that was attacking a group of GIA soldiers and tore into it like a banshee out of hell.

He sped across the field and moved in for short strikes, appearing as a blur of a muted and blood-stained color that had once been a shining royal blue. Well aware that he lacked Ronnae's raw power, he tried to outlast with speed and precision. The battlefield was no place to lose his logic because it was one of his greatest weapons. Observation of the battle helped him to find weak spots---
---like one Ronnae had seemed to uncover, slicing off the claws. He did his best to do the same, tearing into his enemies when the time was right and retreating when it wasn't. That approach minimized his injuries, even if it took longer.
"Almost there!" he yelled as he threw himself at an exposed back and struck, glancing up at the Zords overhead. They were waiting for him. "One more push?"

With that, she rushed ahead, taking the brunt of the damage and dishing out a flurry of blows that was shredding through the ranks. It was almost as she was dancing under a rainfall of gore, twisting back and forth, dodging, flipping, spinning and twirling into and out of attacks, performing her own graceful song as she sliced through the blockade.
"All yours sweetheart~" she mused in the midst of it, hoping she had cleared enough for Billy to have an easier job reaching the Zords and his friends.

When he wasn't tearing into his own enemies and shooting in at the right times, he sometimes caught sight of her in combat. She was a natural warrior, far beyond his abilities. Billy could feel awkward about that later, but for now he was grateful to be alive and still in the fight. There was so much more to do.
When the path was clear, he...could have run straight for the Zord. He probably should have. Instead, he eyed the Ohm in front of her, stabbed it twice, tossed it aside, and left a fleeting kiss on the first part of her he could reach in a hurry---it was likely to be her ear or temple.
"I'll be back to finish this, Ronnie," he promised. At last he was on his way.

It was that daring, brave and still affectionate act that made her blush and for a moment feel weak at the knees, mind racing with thought improper for the battlefield. His words shook her out of her daze and she blushed, moving one of her matted bangs from her face and looked at him as he headed to his friends.
She couldn't help but smile, almost forgetting she was on the field, biting her lower lip timidly before the aftershock of a grenade snapped her back into place. Woops better stay focused...
She glanced once more in the direction of the Zords and couldn't help but feel a sense of worry... She finished the enemies around her and made her way in that direction, if anything she could help, if they didn't need the help she'd assist the wounded then.
