Lirath - Ground Battle

After dropping off some of the crew at Balisair, it was time for the crew to set course for Lirath. The situation greeting them wasn't the most promising.

The cracked surface of the moon called Lirath was one of its most unmistakeable features. One of the three moons of the planet Kehoe, it had been terraformed and served as a settlement for a hundreds of different species, some humanoid, some not. Despite occasional class struggles, environmental issues, and speciesism blocking their way, the darker parts of Lirath's past were largely left behind, and an era of peace and tolerance had reigned for quite some time. The only problems they'd had recently were with a terrorist group whose cause for their actions had been a mystery, but they weren't tied to any particular species or social group and had been likened to a cult and had largely gone quiet in recent years.

Now the peace on the moon of Lirath had been shattered by the invasion of the Ohm.

The capital city had been destroyed. Now, all that was left of the peoples of Lirath was evacuating from one of its smaller cities, one known as Smyteval. A desert city, existing in a valley in between a rocky range of canyons and mountains, even though it was in the low ground, the natural channels of rock served as bottlenecks for any Ohm attacking from the ground.

GIA squadrons patrolled in space, locked in explosive warfare, protecting the Bleed-gate that had been activated to see the evacuated ships to the refugee world, and a shield created by massively-powerful shield generators extended around the city and up into the atmosphere, creating a shielded tunnel so ships could escape.

Word had come that there was a vital weapon to be deployed on Lirath, one that needed to be destroyed, hence why the Transmigration 9 had been called in. Given the diverse crew, and the ships that were in its hangar, there was at least someone or something on board that could blow the weapon up if it did show.

There was no sign of it yet. Right now, there was just chaos, streams of evacuees boarding ships, armies of Ohm engaged with GIA soldiers outside the shields, and forcefields that everyone hoped would hold out just a little bit longer.

The crew would be following Leon's orders but finding themselves fighting side-by-side with GIA platoons, full of various species that were currently all getting their asses kicked severely.

Without even looking back towards Pram, Maridian cast Righteous Defense (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=31789) on her, binding holy magic around her and the Assassins to draw them towards him instead of her -- then he spun in a neat circle, hurling the shield into the midst with the same three ricochets as before.

Whatever their priorities had been, the mantle of Righteous Fury (http://www.wowhead.com/spell=25780) that sheathed him ought to force them to reassess just which foe is the one they ought to be targeting.

Please. Dealing with adds like this is kid stuff.

Pram definitely didn't notice the Assassin creeping up on her until a spell was cast on her. When she saw the Assassin being forced to change its target to the Paladin who had a whole swarm of enemies at him.

What was he, an idiot??? Overlords didn't need any protection!! Pram, A+ team player.

With a frustrated growl, she started unleashing a series of beams before blasting a huge gust of ice at the Grunts' way, creating a large ice prison for a moment before shattering to pieces. That should take care of a good portion of the army...

All of the magic stuff-- from either of the two she was fighting with-- was more than a little beyond Rachel, frankly, but she was okay with that. She could do 'smash that' without worrying too much about what they did. And she could protect her fellow crew, too, even if they didn't seem to need it much (good on them). Other than the fact that the one guy was being swarmed a lot now.

< These things just love you, don't they? > Rachel joked, though she was smart enough to figure it was a magic related thing. Rachel's bear stood on it's back legs, slamming paws into Ohm right and left, teeth ripping and tearing at any of the Ohm they could reach.

"Hey, it's my job to take the hits while you guys deal the damage!" he proclaimed proudly as he swatted at the Ohm. A brilliant bubble of energy formed around him as he did so, blunting the Ohm's blows against him as he caught them on his shield or parried them with his mace. "Though on Azeroth that would also be the bear's job... our druids preferred turning into great cats to do damage. But either way, I'd be derelict if I let these guys get their claws into either of you! The caster isn't wearing armor, and you're..."
Wait for it.

"...completely bear."

Pram couldn't help but let a giggle out at the last bit she heard from the other.

"That is true... you are very... beary." She replied before going back to being her obnoxious self as she froze a bunch more of the Ohm with her ice spells. "But don't underestimate me! I can protect myself just fine!"

< How very original of you both, > Rachel replied flatly, and you could almost hear the eye roll in her 'voice'. Bear puns. Great.

< Whatever, > she said after a moment. < I can take hits myself. > She could just morph the worst of the damage away, after all-- provided she had the time and space, but she could worry about that later. < But suit yourself, I guess. > She didn't have any overwhelming concern for who took the hits if they could handle it-- she was just fine tearing a new one into the Ohm regardless.

"Well, if you all really want to get hurt when I'm offering to take the blows on my shield and plate armor!" If they did... he wouldn't let them anyway. Sorry!
