Hanger - TARDIS
[Takes place right after clone plot and arriving back on Stacy. After there]
“First sharks and now explosions!” The Doctor held up his ruined sonic screwdriver and turned it in the light. “I’ll have to proof against both, I suppose.”
He crossed the Hanger in long strides, expecting Otter Soother Daniel Jackson to keep up. Daniel had held himself rather well during the whole clone thing and what was more, he even saved his sonic for him! The Doctor found himself feeling rather fond of the human right this moment. Good man! Resourceful! But also being annoyingly close-mouthed about what he might have picked up from that encounter with the Other Doctor, which was surprising because he thought he knew humans and if there was anything he learned from all his time amongst them, it was they loved talking almost as much as he did! Questions in particular were their favorite, no matter how obvious or rhetorical or downright silly. Big big fan of the obvious questions. Basically they were a chatty species.
Part of the reason why he’d asked Daniel to come with him to the TARDIS.
If he was lucky, Daniel would tell him what he’d seen from that clone on his own, given enough time and company.
The Doctor was tucking the sonic back into his pocket when they came into sight of the TARDIS. He only paused for the briefest of beats as he took in the fact the old girl’s doors were wide open, positively gaping open! This wasn’t looking very looked out after and he wondered if maybe Jamie’s memory retention was failing thanks to him being an ex-dead man. Clearly the human needed a talking to! He approached cautiously, poking his head inside.
Everything in the console room looked in order, if you ignored the suspicious trail of foam cups leading away from the door and a few minute scratches on the glass which he knew for a fact hadn’t been there since he last checked. The Doctor’s lips pursed as he peered about, head weaving as he checked under the control console and then straightened. Where was Jamie? In fact, where were the rest of his friends?
“Better have a look around,” the Doctor lied, perhaps too cheerfully. “Long time away from home and I’m afraid River’s gone and organized things. I’m very specific on my organization system, I’ll have you know.”
He made a vague shooing motion at Daniel.
((So basically this is thread two, with the Doctor/Daniel/Rory jumping into a TARDIS taken over by the Master. Since the Master can switch up rooms (up to the players in the threads for what's wrong with the rooms) and trap people/shift people around, I guess assume timey-wimey things to allow different characters to stumble into each other? But yeah, I guess do subthreads for characters stumbling and we can subthread different people running into them.
I think we're looking at people in the TARDIS as: Victoria, Martha, The Master, River, Jamie, Doctor, Daniel, Rory, Amy, Eva. If I missed anyone, poke me!))

LOL
He didn't have time to get another word out before Martha was waving her finger at him. The Doctor gaped at her.
"This? What? This?" He still clung to his stinging cheek with one hand, offended, and began patting down his bowtie. Then the tweed. Then his quite frankly impressive chin, nevermind the sheer amount of hair and there you had it: the new Doctor and his...Doctorness. "So you don't like it, then! Was the slap necessary?"
He rubbed at his cheek. Martha had a very good arm there, almost Rory Williams levels of good! Ouch! Probably would have it turn red in a few minutes, it was just that impressive, and really, he probably should've told Martha about his regeneration but somehow it slipped his mind and then Things kept coming up. From his experience, humans didn't always take to the whole showing up on their doorstep with a new face and hair thing. Obviously this was going to be a lot for Martha to take in. The Doctor lowered his hand from his cheek and gave Martha a positively wounded look.
HELLO DOCTOR
With a huff she placed her hands on her hips, keeping herself from giving him yet another. She had never very good at containing her firey rage when it reared its ugly head, and this was certainly a moment for it.
"You can't tell me you just forgot to say something! What, is it so hard to pop around and say 'Oi, Martha, going to change now!' Time Lords, honestly ..."
She sighed as she rubbed the bridge of her nose, anger levels slowly lowering to manageable levels. Right, she was currently trapped in the TARDIS with the man who had saved her life. Multiple times, at that. As much as he deserved that, maybe there was another side to it. It had always been the same way before with every other aggravating thing he did.
"How did it ... happen?"
HELLO MARTHA
"It?" The Doctor repeated, on the verge of telling her that he was probably too busy trying very extremely hard to not die -- or at least put it off for a few minutes -- to throw in explanations for every single friend he visited. His expression softened as he took in the look on Martha's face. "Some trouble with radiation, that's all. Took on more than I could."
But he'd do it again, if he had to. It didn't matter to him if it was for little Amelia Pond, Amy the Kissogram or Wilf the Old Soldier. They were all dear to him and they were worth all the deadly radiation in the universe. So no, he wasn't too sorry about that lethal dose of radiation, only he was. He remembered being upset. He remembered not wanting to change. It was...complicated. Much more complicated than he wanted to admit to Martha. The Doctor fidgeted, twisting and twining his long skinny fingers together.
"The important thing is you're safe," the Doctor said, trying to brighten. Not his best subject change, but he hadn't ever liked to linger too much on his past lives. "Of course you were. Last I saw you, you were incredibly safe. You and Mickey!"
He had the sound of someone who hadn't quite seen that one coming.
no subject
The rage was gone now, replaced with a sadness and pity. Well, it's not like she needed to feel it. He was still alive, right? Just a regeneration, that's all. The same man. Sort of. Not really. It was like a death still, wasn't it. The death of the man she knew to ... the man that she still knew.
Yeah, it was complicated.
"Wait, Mickey who?"
The Timey-Wimey problem of Stacy's grabbing of people had suddenly made itself rather apparent.
/bses so much on this trap 8D
The Doctor opened his mouth and...
"Oh. Yes, well..." Awkward! The Doctor liked to think he was better keeping what River would say were blatant spoilers to himself. "Decent bloke, that's all. Right! So, we need to get you out of here. Bad place to be right now, as you may have noticed."
The Doctor stepped gingerly within Martha's slapping range and with a hand on her back, herded her toward that fashionable fountain. The fountain apparently liked Martha loads better than the Doctor - it tried to squirt a jet of boiling hot water at him, the Doctor having to dance backward. The water cooled as Martha approached. The Doctor eyed the steam hissing up from the floor. If there was a way out involving the fountain, Martha was probably their best bet.
