Manly Guys Doing Manly Things [closed]

It was a frigid cold even Hiccup wasn't used to when he entered the Sensorium where he was due to meet Sokka. The scene was set at what was clearly a vast land completely covered in snow and ice. The sun was bright, reflecting off it in a way that was slightly hard on the eyes. Even though the breeze was only slight, it crept in through the gaps in the very threads of his clothes, quickly chilling his body.

"Whoa. And I thought Berk winters were bad."

In only the brief moments it took for Hiccup to imagine up climate-appropriate furs, his teeth were already chattering. Fortunately, the warm clothes quickly made a dent on the cold.

Sokka was near by already, checking the supplies in the seal-wolf skin boat that rocked gently in the simulated waters of the rather familiar bay near home.

"Winter? This is summer." He grinned, nodding upwards. "The sun is out!" He was dressed appropriately in very cozy clothing that would be more than enough to keep out any of the chill. He once again sifted through the spears in the bottom of the boat, testing each point.

"Ready to go spear some fish?"

"South, actually. The South Pole is somewhere. . ." He shades his eyes and looks out over the snow and ice, then checks the sun and local landmarks, ". . .that way."

He points across the ice.

"I mean, we say we live at the South Pole but technically we're not quite that far south. Not many people go there, there's no animals or anything to eat when you get away from the ocean, so you have to pack your own food and it's really not worth it."

Unlike Hiccup who knew better than to trudge through the snow without proper clothes, Rapunzel appeared unfazed by while running at full speed through the snow. Her own curiosity to inspect the Sensorium again led to her finding something she had yet to experience first hand in her world. Snow! Even if it was currently in use, she didn't think the people inside would mind if she just played a little in it. Just a little.

"It’s so cold but I don’t caaaree!" She yelled out, rolling past Hiccup and Sokka wrapped in both her hair and coated with snow. She eventually came to a stop and sprawled her arms out to begin making a snow angel.

Sokka arched an eyebrow.

"Five."

Actually, after around three seconds, she finally begins to shiver vehemently in the snow, her teeth chattering just as loudly.

"O-okay... m-maybe i-it's just a l-little c-c-chilly..."

"Maybe even a parka. With a hood." Sokka is just as helpful.

"I-Imagine it? Y-you mean it can just a-appear?" The workings of the sensorium was still a mystery to her.

Sokka nodded in agreement. "Yeah. Just think up some warm clothes. Or even just think that you're warm. That'd probably work too, now that I think about it. . ." He scratched his chin.

"Weird. Literal mind over matter. Well, imaginary matter."

Slowly, Rapunzel rose to her feet, teeth chattering and arms patting themselves to circulate her blood and gain some warmth. As she closed her eyes, she thought of something warm and soft and was immediately covered in blankets. Since she wasn't familiar with the idea of coats, the only thing she could think of to keep her warm was the idea of being in bed.

So now she had blankets. A few of them. "Does this work?" She asked, wrapping them tightly around herself while the thought of being warm removed the feeling of biting cold.

"Try freeze-your-toes-off cold." Sokka quipped, breath condensing into puffs as he spoke.

"But yeah. You from somewhere it doesn't get like this?" His first thought was the Fire Nation. But they didn't have anyone with hair quite that rather radiant golden shade there, did they?

"Oh, it snows! I've just ... never been able to play in it." Rapunzel answered, conveniently leaving out 'at all' since she knew that would draw suspicion. "Besides, there's so much of it out here! I couldn't help but to—"

She paused, suddenly aware that she did sort of intrude on someone else's time in this place. "Oops..." She mumbled, flashing a sheepish grin while curling the blankets tighter around herself. "I guess I got a little ahead of myself. Were you guys doing something important here?"

Once upon a time he might have said no.

But that had been before his sister had become a Waterbending master befor he had met Suki, Yue, Toph. . .

So he just smiled and gave a nod.

"Sure, I mean, if you want. You'll need something to wear that's not blankets, though."

[identity profile] flowerglow.livejournal.com 2011-08-12 07:21 am (UTC)(link)
"Guy stuff?" She lifted a brow. There was stuff only exclusive to guys? This was new to her.

"Well, I don't want to intrude if it's really just for 'guys'."

Sokka smiled, charming as always.

"Good to meet you, Rapunzel." He tried not to stare at the massive mane of hair that trailed her. That was. . .interesting.

"And like Hiccup said, some company is always great!"

"It's nice to meet you, too!" She answered quickly, suddenly quite perky for someone who was wrapped in blankets. By now, Rapunzel was rather used to the looks given about her hair, so even if he did gander at it, she didn't appear at all insulted by it. It made a great conversation starter ... at least sometimes.

"So! What are we doing first?"

"Yeah, getting in the boat is a good start," Sokka quipped along with Hiccup.

"Then we'll get into the technical stuff."

[identity profile] flowerglow.livejournal.com 2011-08-28 12:58 am (UTC)(link)
The jumping in part was easy enough, and with a shrug she was already in the boat along with them. Hopefully it was capable of supporting both her ... and all the hair she brought within the boat with her.

"Done!"
