Bending Water at Faron Spring (Open)

In the short time that Katara had been on the meatship, she'd found herself getting rather used to the environs. Sure, it was nothing like what home had been, but if Katara had clung on to that, she never would have adjusted to the meatship, and that would have been all kinds of bad. Besides, the people had been nothing but warm and friendly to her, with an obvious exception or two, and she had plenty of familiar faces around to keep her from feeling, well, lost and alone.

She was on her own today, though, exploring the ship, letting herself learn where everything was so that she didn't really have to rely on anyone else. It wouldn't be fair to them, nor would it be fair to her. Besides, if something crazy did happen on board, she'd only end up being a hindrance if she wasn't able to get from point A to point B on her own.

Katara had already discovered the freaky Art Hall, and the Tapestry room up on the fifth level. She'd also had her breath taken away by the spacewalk before she'd decided to descend into the city and get to know that place better as well.

Currently, she was down on the city level, at a place which the omnicomm called Faron Spring. She was kneeling by the water's edge, enjoying the relative peace and quiet that the area had to offer. She felt a sense of serenity as she waved her hands over the water, sending it rippling back and forth in little waves. No heavy waterbending here, just some nice, calm relaxation, which was how she liked it for now, given the serene feeling that she was getting from this area of the city.

"Hopefully we won't have to do things that require us being stuck on the ship," Kaya replied. "Although that will also be a bad thing if we're stuck on, say, a desert planet. I remember you telling me what happened the time you and the gang were lost in that desert. It's why I've trained myself to survive in the desert quite a few times in the Sensoriums."

Which she knew was crazy to someone from the water tribe, but also knew in the long term would be beneficial.

"When you're on the ship, trust me, you have a lot of time to think! But I always thought that at a time like that I would need to call upon all the training I've learned. We never do know what sort of world we'll be pulled into, so I figure be ready for anything. A desert is the worst case scenario: most other places I'm sure we could handle."

"They vary, actually," Kaya said honestly. "Once we were in a completely snowed in one, which was great, but usually we'll be in fairly temperate ones, where there'll be a little bit of water. Also, I haven't been on all the missions, sometimes it'll just be a chosen group of people. Mostly we talk to the people naive to the planet, and they'll have things for us to follow so we can be good guests. I already told you one of the worst ones though: the day we went to a planet for shopping and relaxation, and the Ohm attacked. It was pretty disastrous."

"Happily, its very rare," Kaya said. "I was there when we lost Brainy bot, and we did think we lost Cassie but she was brought back to us. So we've been lucky, Katara: but I want to continue that. It's why I'm taking my med bay duties so seriously."

Kaya grinned. "Well, we were taught nothing BUT healing until you came along," Kaya said. "That really inspired me to leave my Tribe, I don't know if you realized that. Many of us girls thought that when you went head to head with Master Pakku. The older woman definitely were disapproving, they were so used to the way things were, but we were all awestruck. It was because of you I sought out to leave my surroundings and see new things, but specifically, I wanted to help you guys with your goal."

She looked sheepish. "By the time I caught up with you though, you'd already beaten the fire nation. I thought I'd miss my chance, but little did I know: there was still plenty of work to be done after the war."
