Bending Water at Faron Spring (Open)
In the short time that Katara had been on the meatship, she'd found herself getting rather used to the environs. Sure, it was nothing like what home had been, but if Katara had clung on to that, she never would have adjusted to the meatship, and that would have been all kinds of bad. Besides, the people had been nothing but warm and friendly to her, with an obvious exception or two, and she had plenty of familiar faces around to keep her from feeling, well, lost and alone.
She was on her own today, though, exploring the ship, letting herself learn where everything was so that she didn't really have to rely on anyone else. It wouldn't be fair to them, nor would it be fair to her. Besides, if something crazy did happen on board, she'd only end up being a hindrance if she wasn't able to get from point A to point B on her own.
Katara had already discovered the freaky Art Hall, and the Tapestry room up on the fifth level. She'd also had her breath taken away by the spacewalk before she'd decided to descend into the city and get to know that place better as well.
Currently, she was down on the city level, at a place which the omnicomm called Faron Spring. She was kneeling by the water's edge, enjoying the relative peace and quiet that the area had to offer. She felt a sense of serenity as she waved her hands over the water, sending it rippling back and forth in little waves. No heavy waterbending here, just some nice, calm relaxation, which was how she liked it for now, given the serene feeling that she was getting from this area of the city.

"I wasn't aware there were other crew members capable of bending water here," he said, motioning toward the water.

She looked up and smiled welcomingly at him. "You're talking about Kaya? I'm her friend," she said. "Katara." She released her sway over the water and stood up to greet Zouichi. "Hello."
no subject
"Zouichi. And yeah, I guess so. I talked to her briefly once. Although I'm not sure how much closer I actually got to understanding how her powers worked. Other than it not being magic, that is."
He motioned toward the spring. "Is this training?"

"I guess I'll just have to take your word for it. I could be as spiritual as I wanted and I don't think I could move water around like that." Although he didn't really need to. It wasn't like there were huge bodies of convenient water lying around where he came from.
"There are a lot of things that exist here that don't exist where I come from. Dragons. Magic. Talking ponies."

Right now, for instance, Kaya was immersed in her nursing packet, taking to reading it in random strange parts on the ship: as it turned out, she found herself in the city, waking and reading at the same time, until she found herself at Faron Spring, a place she normally wouldn't have visited, but preferred the peace and quiet.
"Oh!" She exclaimed, waving at Katara. "I didn't know you'd be here! Hi! Making out ok?"

"I have to hand it to you, I haven't been here very often because of the bus and all. It's really nice! But I've been busy, hosting the Outsider's meeting, training...and this."
She showed her the packet. "I'm one of the healers in med bay, but I'm going to study to be an actual nurse, so I can help without water or my artifact."

She laughed lightly. "I'm just doing what I can. The healing is an amazing ability, but I want to be able to do it officially, you know? There are a lot of advancements people have made in medicine If I can help people that way, I want to, you know?"

As she wandered, she spotted Katara at the Faron Spring, relaxing. Curiosity got the better of her and she approached the other girl, smiling a bit.
"Hello! Enjoying yourself?"

Magic.
"I can do something like that, too...!" she said, stepping back, she reached underneath the shirt she wore and pulled out a small pendant and a few cards. One incantation later, the pendant expanded into the full length Star Wand. "I'm... well, what I've heard called a mage. I can use magic through these cards, like..." Holding out one of the cards, she let it hover as she brought the wand down on it. "WATERY!" A split second later, a water-like being appeared from the card, hovering beside Sakura.
"This is Watery. She can control water, too!"

The pretty spring drew her attention though more then most of the other areas when she spotted it. Flying closer, she circled above and watched the girl kneeling by the water making odd motions above the water. What was she doing?
She flew closer, not realizing that she was probably close enough now to draw the girl's attention, and noticed that the water seemed to be moving in ways that it shouldn't have done naturally. Was that the girl's doing? Interesting.

She saw something reflected in the ripples of the water though and looked up to see a bird of some sort circling in the air above her. She hadn't known that there was wildlife in the City, though she had discovered the wildlife in Hydroponics already. She stopped what she was doing and watched the bird...and realized it was watching her.
Slowly, she stood up and tilted her head, watching it watch her.

She flew a short distance away so that she could quickly demorph out of sight, returning a few moments later fully human. Smiling, she approached the girl, sticking her hand out. "Hi there."

Still, she was curious, even if asking the question that she had in mind would probably give away more then she really wanted. "May I ask what you were doing with the water? I assume that was you moving it."
