The future is a threat, not a promise [closed for now]

Well Loren had to admit, this place was a lot freakier than any spaceship she'd been in before, and she'd been in a few. But that wasn't what was bothering her, it was the future.

Elfangor was going to leave, going to die, even. Her son didn't know her until later in his life? Why? There were a lot of questions and she wasn't sure she wanted to know the answers. That didn't change the fact that she needed to know. There had to be some way to stop it from happening when she returned.

So after the introductions in the Obs Deck she kept close to Elfangor and as soon as she was alone with him she asked the questions that were burning in her mind.

"Elfangor, I have to know. What happens to me?"

Loren's smile widened. "I'm really glad you're here." Because as good as her survival instincts were, she never would have made it through the last adventure without Elfangor.... also she liked him.

Elfangor would have been smiling if he had a mouth, wrapping his arms around Loren. < And there is no greater joy for seeing you again, > He replied.

If anyone were to walk in at this moment they would see such a weird sight but it seemed perfectly normal to Loren.

She pressed a kiss to Elfangor's cheek. Because he didn't have any lips.

"You haven't seen me in how long? 15 years? I'd miss you too."

Loren's cheeks turned pink.

Oh yes, there was a reason she would marry this man, there was a reason indeed.

"What did you do? Fight the Yeerks?" She knew he'd given up on being a war hero but it seemed the Ellimist had other plans.

And there wasn't any less reason that Elfangor had married Loren. Not to mention she looked quite cute with a blush.

"You were always a hero to me. I'm glad everyone else can see you for what you are."

And her cheeks turned a little redder. "I wasn't thinking about that at the time. You knew exactly how bad things were and you still got us out of it. All I did was follow you."

< It's more terrifying when you don't know the situation. Instinct is still very important. More of my 'heroic' feats were more from instinct than actual thought. > Elfangor admitted.

"Fine, we can both be heroes to each other. I won't mind." Loren held him a little closer.

Loren was more than happy to stay like this for some time but she had to wonder.

"What does this make us? You're my husband from the future and when I'm from, we're dating. It's a little weird." Understatement. "I don't know what to call you."

Was a damn good question.

He thought for a moment on his answer. How should they address each other? Then again... < Whatever you're most comfortable with. As long as I get to be close to your heart, I'm fine with any title. >

Loren was pretty sure it wasn't possible for her cheeks to be any redder.

"Well," She began slowly, still thinking it over in her mind. "I care about you and you care about me, I don't think it really matters what we call each other. And unless you think your past self would mind if we were together..."

Loren wished she could say the same for her but seeing as she wouldn't remember him in the future... That was something she really needed to stop thinking about.

"I know I am."

He didn't have to worry about the tone because Loren laughed.

"That's the least of our problems." She said with a smile.
