cityship: (Meanwhile...)

Gently, but with undeniable will divesting myself of the holds that would hold me. (Pt. 5: Chances)

The plan was...well, it wasn't simple, but it sort of was.

While the CLF attacked multiple Clone Processing centers to distract the government, the group with the CLF would target one particular one in the region that'd once been New Jersey. The group with the government would offer their services in putting down their own people.

In the center, they'd split up into several groups. One would fight a fake fight, create a massive diversion, and blow up the room where the samples their DNA were being kept in the process. Another group would secure a teleporter pad. That team would teleport out other teams to steal a ship, steal some med tech to teleport to said ship, and steal a medical database. Another team would go to the main command center and hack into the government mainframe to down the sensornet around the planet so they could escape. And Nightwing himself would accompany the clones to upload the harvested memories to the Mother Brains, left unguarded because of the diversionary fighting, and make sure that was all they did.

Meanwhile, there'd be a standing order for all teams to avoid killing other crewmates, and avoid killing guards unless absolutely necessary.

It was a complicated plan. If a single part fouled up, they might find themselves dead, trapped, or worse. But if it worked, it'd work pretty spectacularly and leave them with medtech, a medical database, the clones helped, and possibly a grateful Council depending on how the fight went, because of the ones seemingly aiding the government.

In some worlds, things that were a million-to-one-chance (exactly a million-to-one) by their nature had to work. Let's hope this world is one of them, eh, mission crew?

Any higher, and they must ask permission of the plot-runners, just to make sure everyone isn't immobilized without enough people to help move them.]

Sakura was silent, caught turning around and seeing Kang's action with Kanner as she did so. It was fast, efficient; she wondered where it fit in to everything they'd done. Nightwing wasn't the only one unable to look away, still staring at Kanner when the teleport activated, a familiar (by now) sensation of being stretched and ripped away to somewhere else.

Where had that fit in? Why? What had made that necessary? But the realistic part of herself, counting the note she'd found, thinking of their traversing of the hospital, of Kanner being there at all at any point, kept her silent.

She knew what this world could do, but war was war. The fighting that had gone on in leaving had been against people personally motivated to anger; and she guessed, maybe, the Ohm had something like that too. She was tired and fed up of their four day excursion into yet another wargrounds, with only more to come.

She didn't look away because his wasn't the only death today, and wouldn't be the only death tomorrow, or the day after, or the day after that. Each one of them was blessedly lucky, but that luck would run out. Like at home, when comrades (from her village, or from another) had fallen under the brutality of beings operated as an extension of a far-off puppet master's whims, people she knew would die. Maybe she would. Despite the idea of the Chosen, she wasn't anything special.

Sick at heart, she told herself to grow up. Galilee wasn't their problem. If she dreamed about this place afterward, it'd be another dream to add to the stock of them that kept sleep from being restful. She'd just have to work that much harder to pass out into dreamless sleep at night.

Welcome to War. This is your life, reclaimed, sold, and packaged. Thanks for the reminder.

Once the teleport was over, she was moving. "Anyone injured? Let's get to restraints! Anyone who needs help moving say so now. Anything that needs to be secured will need to be secured. We've worked too hard to let it break down now."

We've stolen so well we better not having nothing to show for it in the end.

"Good to see you're okay."

Jr. gave Sakura a weary smile, one hand pressed against the nearest wall to take some of the weight off of his leg. He looked back to the others who had begin teleporting back. "I hope the rest of them follow suit. And fast."

She smiled back, reflex, while looking him over. "You too. What's the damage?" Sakura stepped toward him, much more serous. Her injuries didn't register in her mind if the burn on her thigh really should have. (At the very least.) Too much adrenaline and too used to ignoring pain thresholds for the sake of the mission and training.

"Here? Not much. ... thankfully." If anything, mental condition could be argued to be worse than physical, after all that. The strange surreal feeling was still there - that they were standing there with a safe calm around them right after leaving what they left. "Just had a fall thanks to someone tackling me."

"Feel anything tear? Sprain something?" Busy questions, but she was looking for a definite clear enough.

Then back around to the rest. "We need a headcount, but frankly, we can do that while moving things around." What kinds of restraints did they have to work with?

"Might just be a bad sprain, but I'm not positive."

He wondered how many of the others would arrive worse-off. He remembered seeing Kon... "But don't worry about me if the others come back and need more attention. I'm good at toughing it out in the meantime."

"Let me take a look. We've got Henderson, McNinja, Rory, and Howard in addition to me. We'll see to everyone." There was a reassurance in her tone as she flashed him a smile, paired with an underlying confidence in the people she'd just named. Even Howard.

No mention of Kon. The brief glimpses she'd had... well, if Kon and Rory needed her, she was here. Though with the medkits, Rory should be able to handle whatever might come up on his own. he was more than skilled enough to.

"Alright."

He found his way to the nearest object to sit on, more flopping onto it than settling himself down slowly. Shifting himself, Jr. winced before he extended his leg out, pulling the fabric up slowly to not irritate it more. It was in fact a tear, but not close to the worse one there ever was. And Jr. was pretty good at healing, to boot. Genetic modifications were good for at least that perk.

Sakura kneeled down, wincing as she did so. No real need to think before her hands were lighting up with a soft green glow. A tear she could handle, if in repairing it she pointed out, "I'm not able to do anything for the pain right now. Take it easy and don't strain it anymore, and you should be fine before long. Come by medical if it doesn't get better."

Another small smile before she was standing, this time ignoring the wince of pain that went through her system. She needed to move, see everyone, get things situated.

Just... time to get back.
