cityship: (Meanwhile...)

Gently, but with undeniable will divesting myself of the holds that would hold me. (Pt. 5: Chances)

The plan was...well, it wasn't simple, but it sort of was.

While the CLF attacked multiple Clone Processing centers to distract the government, the group with the CLF would target one particular one in the region that'd once been New Jersey. The group with the government would offer their services in putting down their own people.

In the center, they'd split up into several groups. One would fight a fake fight, create a massive diversion, and blow up the room where the samples their DNA were being kept in the process. Another group would secure a teleporter pad. That team would teleport out other teams to steal a ship, steal some med tech to teleport to said ship, and steal a medical database. Another team would go to the main command center and hack into the government mainframe to down the sensornet around the planet so they could escape. And Nightwing himself would accompany the clones to upload the harvested memories to the Mother Brains, left unguarded because of the diversionary fighting, and make sure that was all they did.

Meanwhile, there'd be a standing order for all teams to avoid killing other crewmates, and avoid killing guards unless absolutely necessary.

It was a complicated plan. If a single part fouled up, they might find themselves dead, trapped, or worse. But if it worked, it'd work pretty spectacularly and leave them with medtech, a medical database, the clones helped, and possibly a grateful Council depending on how the fight went, because of the ones seemingly aiding the government.

In some worlds, things that were a million-to-one-chance (exactly a million-to-one) by their nature had to work. Let's hope this world is one of them, eh, mission crew?

"CO Powers?" What on Earth was Lash on about?

He took one of the clones out with a single shot; easy, if you had enhanced shooting accuracy. If the existence of Lash's clones was dangerous in the way a clone of his was dangerous, they needed to be destroyed, the quicker the better.

"I didn't want a government like this to be able to clone an army of individuals with my abilities. Even only a portion of them. It would be disastrous."

"Same," she answered. "They might not be as smart as me, but leaving copies of me here is not something I intend to happen. It's too dangerous."

She fired again, using her own guns instead of the ranger's arsenal. Somehow using those almost seemed wrong, in a strange way.

Zouichi took out a couple more. Quickly, face expressionless. Just like pulling off a band-aid. "So, you didn't seem too terribly into helping the CLF at first. Something make you change your mind?"
thewunderkind: (Movement - OBJECTION!)

[personal profile] thewunderkind 2011-07-27 01:43 am (UTC)(link)
Actually Lash wasn't completely sure why she had changed her mind. Maybe when Zetta suddenly switched his?

"Idunno" she said shrugging, breaking the neck of one of the girls nearby, talking as if this conversation was perfectly normal to have in the middle of murdering clones. "It just happened. But the point was..." She fired a shot at another, "that this would definitely the most interesting out of all the possible solutions." And something about Zetta making her changing her mind.

Zouichi paused briefly in between headshots. "That's a weird reason."

He started up again, drawing a bead on another clone, not bothering to get into actual physical altercations now that the objective was to kill Lash's clones rather than to disable them. This was business; efficiency was key.

In fact, this place was actually starting to remind him a little of home.

"You going to have someone incinerate your clones when you're done? Lot of genetic material lying around."
thewunderkind: (Explosions!)

[personal profile] thewunderkind 2011-07-27 03:15 am (UTC)(link)
"Don't worry, I've already thought about that."

A little bit behind them, a firebomb blew into the sky, incarcerating a few of the clone bodies. The fountain moved forward by the heat, knocking a few of the soldiers out cold.

"Of course I only have a limited supply of these. Maybe I'll get Zetta to punch the rest into the moon or destroy them with his lasers, tee hee hee!"

"Now you're thinking with firebombs," Zouichi said under his breath.

"Glad you're thinking ahead. Now, you got a plan for beating those Councilors? Because if they have shielding like the kind they used to protect Kanner, well. They might be a littler tougher than your average superpowered jerk politicians."
thewunderkind: (You've got to be kidding me two-eyes!)

[personal profile] thewunderkind 2011-07-27 03:35 am (UTC)(link)
"Well uh..." truthfully she had never thought about taking down the entire ruling office, more concerned with the revolution and killing her own clones. Most leaders would stay hidden away and not come in full force. "Maybe if we shoot various weapons at them, we could see what causes reactions in their shield system and move from there."

Logically, this actually made some sense!

Yeah. And yet somehow, they had...

"So basically, shoot at them until something sticks. Guess it's as good a plan as any."

Oh, Zouichi was planning to shoot things at them, all right. ALL THE THINGS. "You think the no-kill order is still on for them?"

Well, technically, it should apply to their clones, but for aforementioned reasons, Zouichi was going to treat that part as an exception. Dangerous clones are dangerous.
thewunderkind: (Thinking - Very hard)

[personal profile] thewunderkind 2011-07-27 07:52 pm (UTC)(link)
"Yeah probably." She had a feeling Dick wouldn't be too happy about Lash killing her own clones, but if there was no evidence of them being there, it wouldn't be as bad, right? Totally logical in a wunderkind's twisted mind. "But let's be honest, the way they've been programmed means there's not much we can to to help them out except kill them."

[identity profile] zouichi.livejournal.com 2011-07-27 09:49 pm (UTC)(link)
He looked at her for an instant, than shrugged. "The order was not to kill unless necessary, right? If we left our clones alive, they could have destroyed far more lives than your average human clone. They might have changed the military makeup of the planet's security forces, stamped out the CLF and any other dissident clones altogether. And they could only have been manufactured because we were here. I'd say that sounds pretty necessary."

"...besides," he said a little more quietly, "I wouldn't wish that kind of life on anyone."
thewunderkind: (Sad - Thinking emoly)

[personal profile] thewunderkind 2011-07-27 11:17 pm (UTC)(link)
Lash, on the other hand was less 'not wishing this life on anyone' and more 'not wanting my life to be copied' type of gal. Z made a good argument, however. She had a feeling if her clones found out how to use her CO powers and be under the control of the leaders, it could be dangerous for everyone on this planet.

She nodded silently and continued to fire.
