cityship: (Meanwhile...)

Gently, but with undeniable will divesting myself of the holds that would hold me. (Pt. 5: Chances)

The plan was...well, it wasn't simple, but it sort of was.

While the CLF attacked multiple Clone Processing centers to distract the government, the group with the CLF would target one particular one in the region that'd once been New Jersey. The group with the government would offer their services in putting down their own people.

In the center, they'd split up into several groups. One would fight a fake fight, create a massive diversion, and blow up the room where the samples their DNA were being kept in the process. Another group would secure a teleporter pad. That team would teleport out other teams to steal a ship, steal some med tech to teleport to said ship, and steal a medical database. Another team would go to the main command center and hack into the government mainframe to down the sensornet around the planet so they could escape. And Nightwing himself would accompany the clones to upload the harvested memories to the Mother Brains, left unguarded because of the diversionary fighting, and make sure that was all they did.

Meanwhile, there'd be a standing order for all teams to avoid killing other crewmates, and avoid killing guards unless absolutely necessary.

It was a complicated plan. If a single part fouled up, they might find themselves dead, trapped, or worse. But if it worked, it'd work pretty spectacularly and leave them with medtech, a medical database, the clones helped, and possibly a grateful Council depending on how the fight went, because of the ones seemingly aiding the government.

In some worlds, things that were a million-to-one-chance (exactly a million-to-one) by their nature had to work. Let's hope this world is one of them, eh, mission crew?

This was depressing. Sakura had all her clones disabled in a manner of minutes (if there was even more than one).

"Sorry," she said to the last one (or the only one), knocking her out with a well placed hit to the neck. "Guess no one saw the point in the manual where it said shinobi skills aren't at a genetic level."

On the up side, she now had more guns than she started out with!

Zouichi had finally gotten to see Sakura in action! Exciting! He raised an eyebrow at her new gun collection -- did ninja even use those?

"I wasn't aware shinobi came with installation guides. Clearly an oversight on their part."

He sucker punched a random clone that came up to him from behind. "I didn't know the pink hair was genetic."

This ninja didn't, but maybe she was getting to the point where she'd need to. "Not the first they've made," she said pointedly, turning around to land a punch in someone else's stomach. They went flying back, breathless, and collapsed to the ground.

"You know, you're not the first one to think I do something like dye to get this color."

Considering her hair was currently black, it was a somewhat amusing statement.

Zouichi shrugged, reaching back behind him to casually break someone's arm. Said someone started screaming about his ulna for a brief moment before Zouichi delivered a crisp, calculated blow to the clone's solar plexus.

...non-fatally!

"Well, hair colors on my Earth are fairly limited by nature. I assume that must be the same for other worlds as well. They tend to be shades of blond, brown, or red."

Yes, he was discussing hair colors while beating the tar out of a clone army. What. "Is the strength also a learned trait?"

A regular two person tango for the non-fatal knockouts! Or at least incapacitations. Sakura knocks someone upside the head, then drops them to the ground to try and disorient them. It works well enough, and a final light touch is all she needs to ensure they stay out of the fight for some time.

"We go outside the standard spectrum." She looked around, seeing if she could spot any immediate place to be in and out of. "It's all training," she said simply. "All inherent for you?"

Zouichi shattered someone's wrist and femur just as they tried to pull a gun on him. The man fainted dead away from the pain; he grabbed the weapon and tossed it away without a thought. The next few clones he merely took out with a short chop to the back of the neck. Less satisfying, more efficient. Or at least it was assuming that they'd be getting off this planet within the next few hours or so; otherwise it was just asking for trouble to let this many militarized clones live to attack them again.

He shook his head at her question. "Someone with my genetic code will have increased strength and so on. But, as I'm sure you can appreciate, not the knowledge or experience required to use them effectively. It's no contest."

And there was also the additions he had, beyond the genetically enhanced attributes. "Maybe I should try some basic sparring with you sometime. You seem to know what you're doing."

Sakura was playing it safer, especially when dodging fire (the non-literal kind) was a hair-raising experience in and of itself. "Can't make up for personal experience," she agreed, moving out of the line of sight of one clone just barely in time to avoid being truly fried.

Oh, she didn't like guns.

"I can always use a decent sparring partner," she said, currently not facing Zouichi. Crud. She stepped forward, over a prone clone's body, and slammed her fist into the ground. Fissures rocketed forward, breaking up what ground could be broken for a good thirty feet out. She hoped it was just clones out there, in the instant warping and semi-rubble the impact had made.

"Same here," he said, grabbing the gun off one of the clones and firing into the manufactured army. Many of them went down with a single shot. Maybe he should start carrying around a conventional firearm or two, if this kind of operation was going to be a habit.

Zouichi blinked as Sakura ruptured the surface of the Earth, leaping lightly aside in case her control wasn't perfect.

Oh, that was interesting.

"Can anyone learn how to do that?" Zouichi asked of the fissures, still firing. He could shatter materials like concrete fairly easily, but he'd never really applied his strength in that sort of manner. He'd never had to; why bother destroying the ground beneath your enemies' feet? Best, in his world, to just kill them as quickly and efficiently as possible.
