Suddenly, Princess Celestia! [Open]
Celestia had lived a long life, but the past few days were the strangest she had ever experienced. She had awoken from a pod in a strange chamber, only to find herself whisked away to a strange maze soon after.
This maze had had her most concerned - as Princess of all Equestria, she had duties and responsibilities, after all. She could only hope that her sister Luna was managing on her own, and do her best to escape this maze and return to her beloved subjects.
Escape came unexpectedly though, when Celestia found herself suddenly dropped from the mess hall ceiling, where she landed on top of one of the tables with a thud, her hooves sending plates and trays and cutlery flying in all directions. Have a rather elegant pony - or perhaps a horse? - with a long horn on her forehead, graceful wings adorning her back, and a mane and tail that was a multicolour and gravity-defying sight standing on your table, diners, looking rather bewildered.
"Oh! I'm sorry. I hope I didn't ruin your meal," she said, with a chuckle. Then she looked around at her surroundings, her expression turning concerned. "Now this doesn't look at all like Equestria..."

"To judge by its taste it comes ruined, so you may have actually improved my day."

"I am afraid this is going to take quite a bit of explanation. It will all be difficult to believe and hard to hear, but what I am about to tell you is the truth."
He again directed his wand, this time at himself, with an incantation of "Tergeo" to siphon away the slop.

She took a step closer, watching gravely. She could tell that whatever he had to say, it was serious new. "I will listen attentively, my fellow creature."

Clean now, and with something resembling his dignity back, Lupin rose from his seat, replacing his wand as he did so. It seemed best to stand.
"I'm sorry to have to tell you this news," he began, quite somberly. "You are on a ship traveling between the stars, with many people from many different worlds. We are aboard this ship because the worlds we are from have been destroyed."
no subject
Worlds that were destroyed?
"Equestria is gone?" she said quietly. "But my subjects - what of all my ponies?"
no subject
Left unspoken, but unfortunately implied, was that 'many' did not mean 'all'.

"But you say some were saved?" she said finally, her voice steely with resolve. "Some of my subjects are alive. They will need me."

Her sister? Her student? How many of her ponies would have been saved?

"Well. Normally you would use the many keys on it to type letters into it, and thus words, but that may not be the easiest way..."

Now, if these devices had been sensible magical artifacts, they could all have used them easily. But, Muggles did seem to love complicating things...

If they were anything like ponies, then the ability to have magic would be accompanied by certain physical characteristics as well.

Classifications which, as Remus may note, did not in fact describe Celestia herself.

"And they are all intelligent and verbal? Forgive my asking, but on the world I am from, neither unicorn, nor winged horse, nor pony is any of these things, though the unicorn is known to be quite magical."

The idea of her own ponies, unintellectual and not even able to communicate, was distinctly unsettling. Celestia could not help but feel a pang of sympathy for her poor equine brethren who did not possess such gifts.
