STOP! Hangar time!

So the captain and Trudy and... okay a lot of people had started yelling not to do this on the comm. People had also started talking calmly and reasonably, which was worse. Well, they could protest all they want--until they started doing something, Allenby was going to go ahead with her plan.

Admittedly? She was having some real second thoughts about this. But anything was better than sitting uselessly in orbit while god-knew-what was happening to her friends down on Galilee. Zouichi, Jr., Sakura, Zetta... not to mention everyone else down there! It was a big group of people! That would make getting them out complicated, but if the Galileeans had such great technology, they were sure to have some kind of spacecraft able to hold that many people.

She also had a feeling that this was the sort of plan Domon would come up with if he was around. There were enough people who'd replied that could help her out, and she was sure the crew on the surface was smart enough that they could make contact once things started getting hairy. Allenby wasn't going to let herself doubt. She just focused on her tools and looked up repeatedly to see if anyone was coming as she continued modifying the X-Wing into a platform.

[ooc: So there will be two subthreads: one for people helping out and one for the subsequent intervention and yelling-at. Feel free to tag Allenby separately or join in on a conversation!]

<< Alright, but I'm kinda finding it odd that you guys are being so strict over this. >> Spider-Man replied, heading for the transport tubes. << Not even Captain America has the stick wedged up that high. Now, U.S. Agent I could probably argue for, but not Cap. >>

Granted, if Spidey acted this way when he was Allenby's age, he was pretty sure Cap would, at the very least, give him a stern talking to. At this rate, Allenby and whoever went to help her is getting some jail time.

...this doesn't make a lick of sense.

<<She's going to get her fool self killed if she goes down there with one ship. It's not the principle I'm objecting to.>>

Though that took a hell of a lot to admit.

<<There's also this little thing called the chain of command that my pilots are supposed to be following.>>

<< Okay, I get that bit. Did it also occur that it could have helped a bit more if it was more "Allenby, do you realize you're gonna get killed" and less "I have a better rank, fear me"? >>

Why, yes, Peter's gonna enjoy doing this as he's making his way down. It's no wonder people dislike the chain of command here!

<<I take it you've never been a military commander,>> Trudy said. Her legs devoured the hallway in long, purposeful strides. She twitched the jacket of her uniform into place, smoothing out the patches. <<They listen to me or they die. That's how it works in the field, that's how it works. They don't like it, they shouldn't have joined a military. It's not like I didn't tell them what they were signing up for.>>
