STOP! Hangar time!

So the captain and Trudy and... okay a lot of people had started yelling not to do this on the comm. People had also started talking calmly and reasonably, which was worse. Well, they could protest all they want--until they started doing something, Allenby was going to go ahead with her plan.

Admittedly? She was having some real second thoughts about this. But anything was better than sitting uselessly in orbit while god-knew-what was happening to her friends down on Galilee. Zouichi, Jr., Sakura, Zetta... not to mention everyone else down there! It was a big group of people! That would make getting them out complicated, but if the Galileeans had such great technology, they were sure to have some kind of spacecraft able to hold that many people.

She also had a feeling that this was the sort of plan Domon would come up with if he was around. There were enough people who'd replied that could help her out, and she was sure the crew on the surface was smart enough that they could make contact once things started getting hairy. Allenby wasn't going to let herself doubt. She just focused on her tools and looked up repeatedly to see if anyone was coming as she continued modifying the X-Wing into a platform.

[ooc: So there will be two subthreads: one for people helping out and one for the subsequent intervention and yelling-at. Feel free to tag Allenby separately or join in on a conversation!]

Well, well. Midna wasn't sure if she'd ever seen Allenby around the ship (maybe, briefly), but that must be her, hard at work on that X-Wing. She hovered on over. "Need any help? I don't know much about engineering, of course, but I do have a couple of magic tricks up my sleeve."

"Eee hee! Are you sure you have time to be asking questions like that?" Midna dipped a little lower in the air. "I'm the one that can hide in shadows."

Well, she could change shape, too, but hey, one thing at a time.

Hurry? Really, Allenby asked him to hurry? For Sonic, telling him to hurry would be like telling him that he's needed, but not at that very second.

As it stood, the hedgehog was busy relaxing by one of the other vehicles, waiting for his part.

[identity profile] supersonicracer.livejournal.com 2011-07-09 02:46 am (UTC)(link)
Sonic couldn't help but laugh at what Allenby said, giving her the distinctive V-sign with his fingers.

"You bet!" he replied.

Alend appeared with the sound of crackling electricity and the feeling of something...wrong in the air. Those two things were caused by her appearing out of the Warp, effectively teleporting herself to the hangar. Through the red eye pieces on her armor, she peered around, locking onto the only person at work.

Since there was no danger, she rested her Death Spinner over her shoulder and quietly made her way over. Even if these were humans, there was no way she was getting left behind.

"That is what you asked for, is it not? I told you that you would not win without me." Alend said that as an identifier since deciphering who she was through text and while she was wearing her armor was nearly impossible unless one was an Eldar. Her voice faded in and out while speaking, a result of the connection to the Warp she had while in her armor.

"Always on my day off," Trudy growled, tossing her omnicomm aside. She grabbed her uniform jacket and ran out the door of her quarters, tugging it on as she ran. Someone had to head Allenby off at the pass, Trudy just wasn't sure she was going to make it in time.

So she did something that crawled under her skin and itched. <<Security, this is General Chacon - one of my pilots has gone rogue and is attempting to steal military property to get to the surface. Please converge on the hangar and stop her immediately.>>

One of my pilots has gone rogue. Fucking Christ. How embarrassing is that? Trudy rushed into a transport tube and said "The Hangar!" in a curt voice. Hopefully she'd get there first.

<< Alright, but I'm kinda finding it odd that you guys are being so strict over this. >> Spider-Man replied, heading for the transport tubes. << Not even Captain America has the stick wedged up that high. Now, U.S. Agent I could probably argue for, but not Cap. >>

Granted, if Spidey acted this way when he was Allenby's age, he was pretty sure Cap would, at the very least, give him a stern talking to. At this rate, Allenby and whoever went to help her is getting some jail time.

...this doesn't make a lick of sense.

<<She's going to get her fool self killed if she goes down there with one ship. It's not the principle I'm objecting to.>>

Though that took a hell of a lot to admit.

<<There's also this little thing called the chain of command that my pilots are supposed to be following.>>

//I'm...on my way.//

Shoutarou was in another transport tube, trying to work out just what to do here. He just got onto Security, but the case this girl presented - it played to his convictions. However, the last time he did something against a superior's orders, he wound up with a superior full of bullet holes.

He pulls out the Double Driver, staring at it and wondering what he should do...

It hadn't taken 'Vadum long to pick up on the situation over the communications. A pilot going rogue and attempting to draw others into her folly. While he understood Ensign Allenby's determination, her discipline was sorely lacking, she had all the eagerness of a Minor fresh from war college. Standing from his command chair, he gazed out over the Hanger bay from his position aboard the bridge of the Quarter.

Given the Quarter's station in the hanger and it's current load out of vehicles onboard it was logical to inform the General as to possibilies. Keying the comm direct he spoke with the air of an officer who had seen many trails, --General, this is Lt Commander 'Vadum, in light of the situation I have locked access to the Quarter's hangers. The Quarter itself is on standby if it is needed,--

<<Thank you for that,>> Trudy said. There was a weight off of her mind. Still, she had to get to them before that X-wing was modified past spaceworthy capacity. They had too few of them already.

And far too few pilots.

She hit the door to Stacy's main hangar and made a beeline for the Quarter. Locking it down would help, but Trudy didn't underestimate her pilots, especially not Allenby.

Nor was Trudy the only one on their way to the hangar - because no sooner had the message left her Omnicomm than another one came in:

Going to hangar. Remote-booting Freedom. Will intercept if we have to.

-Yamato.

The pilot himself was currently in another one of the transport tubes, making his way to the hangar as fast as he possibly could.

On the way to the Hangar

[identity profile] iaskednicely.livejournal.com 2011-07-09 03:17 am (UTC)(link)
Cypher did not have the layout of the ship memorized yet. But he was on his way as fast as he could get there without drawing too much attention. Which meant he was hurrying, but not all out running. He appeared to be speaking quietly to himself... the reality though, was that he was speaking to the communications ring, attempting to 'convince it' to do as he wanted. Others would call this hacking.

Well, if you were moving quickly but not running, then Hikari probably ended up passing by you at some point, Tailmon held up in her arms as she was heading toward the hanger.

"You sure you're going to be able to do this?" Tailmon asked from her rather uncomfortable seat in Hikari's arms.

Hikari nodded. "We don't have a choice. We can't let them do something so stupid."

[identity profile] twilit-midna.livejournal.com 2011-07-10 02:43 am (UTC)(link)
Midna grinned. Well, well. She hadn't been in a real fight for a while. Some of the people had some weird powers, too. So this could only be fun.

Too bad she couldn't use everything in her deck.

"Shoutarou, we should at least make certain that she understands what's at stake. Protecting her smile as well as everyone elses will be top priority." remarked Philip as the pair hurried along.

"Alright. Looks like she's gathered up some allies as well. This could get tricky, though I believe more Security is on their way." Shoutarou steps up toward Allenby, rather hopeful that there wouldn't be a need for Double's appearance, but knowing full well how emotions can run high in a situation like this, it was best to be prepared. "Hey, Allenby, was it?" Shoutarou held his hands open, palms up in front him as he spoke. "Look - I admire what you're trying to do here. Jumping at the chance to help your allies out is a great thing, but you need to consider your own life here."
