Kung-Fu Human

Some people might assume that, by the way he still wore his coat like armor, and carried his sword slung across his back, that he was uncomfortable, paranoid, or simply overly concerned about being on this ship. The truth was, he wore those as a matter of course.

Free from the slime-filled cocoons where he had apparently been asleep for the Record knows how long, the Akashic had decided that, rather than harass or bother the people who had clearly been here for some time for a tour, he was going to make his own. With the help of the omnicomm in his hand and a general sense of adventure, Morgan was walking the length and breadth of the traversible areas of the ship, poking into corners and making curious noises at various things.

If it was all terribly unsettling to him, he had no intention of showing that.

[[OOC: Just let me know where you find him!]]

The City

As promised, Stephen was waiting by where the tentacles deposited people in the City. Once the Akashic was on his feet, the Etherite grabbed and hugged him, slapping Morgan soundly on the back.

"Tesla's violet rays, but it's good to see you. So, there are a couple things I can show you down here. The question is, where do you want to go first, really?"

So he might have been a little on the thin side compared to where Morgan remembered him, but the Akashic could probably feel that his shoulders weren't quite as thin as they had been. Stephen had just been doing the Son of Ether version of a workout--which meant building lots of things.

But no, not starving.

"Well?" Stephen asked, impatiently.

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2011-07-03 08:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Oh." Stephen blinked and then shook his head. "Well. We could go to my lab, but I mean, you saw the one back home. I don't think they're that different. I could just show you some of the sights around here. You asked where the bathroom was..."

He arched his brows and grinned. "Or we could just go straight to the place that surprised the hell out of me when I found it here."

It took a bit of riding the train, and then a bit of walking, as the place that Stephen had found was out of the way of most of the other places that had been discovered...

But he certainly felt that Doissetep was worth it, considering what it meant to the Traditions as a whole. He gestured to it grandly as they stood on the reddish soil surrounding it.

"I haven't been in there too far yet, for obvious reasons, but how cool is that?!"

"I don't know how it got here. I assume Stacy saved it. She saved a lot of other places, too--like the Vatican," citing that as a place they both knew.

"It's real enough, as far as I can tell," Stephen said. "Like I said, I haven't tried to go digging too far into it, because I figured it'd be my luck that something would fall on my head or something. I'd just get in trouble somehow, you know?"

Not that Stephen's intuition was amazing. It wasn't. Still.

"We could always take a quick look or two around. Now. Or at some point."

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 02:58 pm (UTC)(link)
"Did you get hit on the head when Stacy let you out of your pod?" It was a rhetorical question, really, but usually, Morgan was the one with more practical sense.

That's what happened when you stuck your nose in your lab for too long.

"Seriously, though, the City is a place where mostly, Stacy doesn't have sensors, so it can be pretty dangerous. I'd actually want to be prepared to go in there, which at the moment, I'm not. So...I'll just put it on the list."

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2011-07-07 03:57 pm (UTC)(link)
"Well, from what I understand that might have changed since Stacy doesn't hand out as many violations for fighting any more, but...she can't see down here, she can't give you a violation for fighting. That meant this was a great place to get the drop on someone you had a grudge against."

Stephen didn't know aaaaanything about that, right Morgan?

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2011-07-08 03:34 pm (UTC)(link)
You didn't think it was going to be that easy, did you, Morgan?

"What?" Stephen asked, giving the Akashic a blank look.

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2011-07-12 11:12 pm (UTC)(link)
"Only one so far, and the dick is a book. Besides, it's not like you never held a grudge." Because Stephen knew damn well that Morgan had.

"Besides, I'm already planning his comeuppance. And it's not going to hurt anyone, so you don't have to worry about it." Stephen said, scowling.

"Anyway, I'm sure it won't take any time for you to do what you do best--pick up a passel of lady followers."

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 02:32 am (UTC)(link)
"According to him he's a demon, not a book." Stephen won't break Morgan's brain by telling him about past events on the ship, but just gave him a wry look as Morgan tugged at his plantsuit.

"You know, there are places to get clothes on the ship, idiot. Or shore leave. I've picked up a few things from shore leaves before, so it's not like you have nothing."

Stephen rolled his eyes. Admittedly Morgan's ease at picking up ladies had always sort of annoyed him.

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 02:40 am (UTC)(link)
"Sucker bet, nobody even knows you here right now. I give it a month tops, that'll change." Stephen said with a snort.

"Yeah. There are a couple of places. Hell, we're in orbit around a planet right now, though there was a monkeywrench in the mission, from what I understand. We're not allowed down and right now our away team can't come back. I'm not sure why."

Then again, guess who didn't really pay attention to that sort of thing? You guessed it, Morgan. Your best friend.

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2011-07-13 02:50 am (UTC)(link)
Stephen let out a bark of laughter at that. "There's only one other guy on ship who reminds me of me. Met Billy Cranston, did you?"

He did grin at that, quite a bit. "He's a good guy. He's been a bit busy between Engineering and his new girl, but he was one of the ones who helped me keep my sanity when I first came here. Good people."

[identity profile] sonofether.livejournal.com 2011-07-16 05:35 pm (UTC)(link)
"Nooooo," Stephen said, but, well, Morgan knew him better than that. He'd had to do it enough in the past, after all.

"This way then." He beckoned Morgan on with a hand and led him off.

The lab was hardly as impressive as the one Stephen had had back home, but clearly the Etherite had been doing the best he could with what he had. Stephen gestured to the Tesla coils, dim now, as they entered.

"Those're new," he said. "Made those to goof around with. Kind of like a personal project, really. They have a MIDI guitar to go with them." So clearly he was still up to his old tricks.

He was really most proud of his recent acquisition, though. "I think you'll be most happy with this."

Stephen gestured at the vehicle shape that sat beneath the blue cloth before grabbing it and pulling it off to reveal the car.

That's right, Morgan. It's a Ferrari Infinity. Just like yours.

Stephen just smiled smugly.
