"Listening to others, considering well what they say" (Part 3: Maingate Hotel)

The Maingate Hotel was pretty extravagant, and an entire section of it had been eked out for the crew's use during their stay. They had several suites, three communal areas, a conference room, their own kitchen with a chef on call if they required her.

They were all teleported from the main teleport pad of the hotel into the conference room, which was a large enough room to be able to hold a group their size and had plenty of chairs arranged in a circular pattern so they could mostly all face each other or whoever was in the middle of the room.

Everyone had to settle down so they were all able to talk, and the meeting itself would have to be carefully controlled so they wouldn't all talk over each other. But they were up for the task, right?

[ooc: Guardian Setup, General Mingling, Clone Checkup, Newbie Briefing, General Briefing, More Mingling, Back to the Meeting, and The Idea Guy sections are open. "I'd lose a hell of a lot of faith in them if they didn't." Jr. sighed. "And up until now, I've more or less had faith in this crew doing the right things."

He walked up, hands resting on the rails of the balcony to look over and beyond the city. His eyes narrowed slightly in thought. "I'm sure we're gonna look into the other side of this. But honestly..." Up went a hand, fingers stopping barely an inch away from the brand on his forehead. "That might not be the best idea for us. We don't know what these things are. If they can track us with this, and we end up leading them straight to the resistance..." He didn't want to be responsible for that.

"Sakura started looking into mine, to see if we can find out anything more about'em. Hopefully they're not trackers to that extent. But then again, if they are..." he looked up to Kon. "The guys standing against it are apparently doing a good job at not being detected, given the council's need for us to help. I'm sure we can find out how to mess with them too."

"I think if there's risk of us being tracked, we need to stay out of it. There's also other ways to track us that our crew might be able to figure out. If they go full on the offensive against the resistance, there's a million ways they could use us to find and hurt them, and we can't let them do that. The only way to be sure is to sit it out and stay as far away from the resistance as we can. Refuse to participate in the mission and not go looking for them ourselves. Hopefully they'll be smart enough not to trust any of our crew that's trying to stop them, and hopefully...if they are hurting people they shouldn't, they'll learn to stop. Hopefully, this world will sort itself out."

Kon joined Jr. at the balcony, leaning against it.

"I think the best thing we can do for this world is leave it alone. Hope the balance tilts on its own. Prime Directive kinda thing, you know?"

Jr. hated the thought of that. Above everything, it was an honest to goodness concern, and sympathy for those who were fighting. But it reminded him of other things. Saving those who were created as tools ... something he had failed to do as a child. All of his brothers and sisters falling victim to their 'enemy's' waves as well as the device that slowly drove everybody in the area mad. And then there had been the desperation in his voice when they figured out that his ship had been taken over, not very long before he had been pulled onto Stacy. 'I can't abandon them!' - the utter crush in his spirit when they had finally arrived only to be greeted by a massacre - one so profound he couldn't even react properly.

Kon's words did make Jr. think of something, though, so he spoke in response. Or at least, attempted to though his feelings. Both of his fists were unconsciously clenched, forearms resting on the balcony's edge as he leaned over slightly. "I guess if this happened after such a long time of ... not. Then they've got a chance. But just leaving, and having no chance of even trying to find them because of these stupid things...!"

"Not our world. I'd say it's not our problem, but that's a lie. Us clones gotta stick together, and that's what stings the most. Just...knowing how they feel. Knowing exactly how they feel."

It wasn't just the branding. They'd all led lives where they were occasionally smacked in the face by people who had beefs with their origins.

"Still, it's not our world. Chances are, if we tried to help, we'd just hurt things even more."

Jr. couldn't help but focus his eyes on a group of trees not too far away, rustling gently in the breeze. Anything to hold back the yelling he wanted to do, though his voice was still pressed, obviously controlled and trying not to do so.

"Is that really how it is? Not our world ... is it just because we're not from this universe? Or just because this place hasn't been attacked, yet? Would we be singing a different tune if we left, and this place got destroyed tomorrow, and half the population woke up on Stacy? Cause I sure as hell think we would. So many people keep saying it's not our problem, that we should only worry about ourselves. But only caring about yourselves ... only looking out for 'your own' ... that's what these people are doing."

His voice had cracked into a more angry tone at the end. Jr. tensed slightly, letting out a small breath. "... Sorry. I know what you mean, but I..."
