The Hidden Villiage

Several hours after Cargn's message to the command staff, the crew was summoned to the Obs Deck in Stacy's usual fashion. Upon arrival, they would find a mission briefing much like the ones that came before it.

The hologram next to it would show a rather unusual looking planet, with a single, massive ocean taking up the majority of the surface, and a single, perfectly circular continent taking up the rest. It appeared rather unnatural at first glance.

Planet Designation: Unknown. No records of a system existing at this location can be found. All information is based on preliminary scans.
Status: Terrestrial, H-class.
Non-sentient life: Extensive flora and fauna.
Semi-Sentient Life: Unknown.
Sentient Life: Unknown.
Water: 74.8% of the planet's surface.
Climate: Temperate.
Landscape: Mountainous.
Air: Normoxic concentration. Slightly elevated levels of carbon dioxide.
Air Pressure: 101.3 kPa (kilopascals) = 14.7 psi (pounds per square inch)
Sky: Blue. Occasional cloud cover.
Sun: A class G2V, yellow star.
Warnings: No records of this planet exist. Suggest taking extreme caution while planet-side, as dangers that have not shown up on preliminary scans could exist.
Mission: Scout planet's surface and locate artifact known as the Tapestry.

Well. It certainly wasn't much to go on. But the Tapestry seemed to be important enough to the crew, so it might be worth the risk.

The idea of a mission put Aqua a little on edge, given her last "simple" mission turned from "Find Master Xehanort" to "stop the x-blade from summoning Kingdom Hearts" to "save a possessed Terra from the darkness."

Given that track record, the young master fiddled with her Wayfinder. She'd already made sure her armor pieces were secured and ready should she need to summon her full armor. Now, it was just a matter of waiting and praying everything didn't fall apart.

"Aqua-neesan?"

Right behind Aqua was Sasami, surprised to see her on this mission. Admittedly, she was surprised to be here as well. Thankfully, Rein Zwei had finished her outfit and was wearing it just in case. Probably the only obvious difference is that Sasami had her hair up in a single ponytail than the usual pigtails, in her hand was a staff that was usually one of her hair ties.

If Sasami was surprised, Aqua was even more so.

"Sasami? What are you doing here?"

She couldn't help but worry now. Terra had gone off on his own. Ven had gone off on his own. But even though Sasami wouldn't be alone, that Aqua would be here and so would everyone else, just the thought of the danger they'd faced being anything close to what might happen here was chilling.

"They called me for this... did they do the same to you?" Sasami asked.

She knew for a fact Aqua was worried, and rightfully so. Despite her training, she wasn't a fighter at all. And that would mean extra work for her.

For a moment, Aqua couldn't speak. All she could manage was a voiceless nod. Sasami didn't belong on a battlefield--she was supposed to still be a kid!

"N-Neesan?" Sasami asked, worried. Sasami could probably see the worry on Aqua's face and it worried her, too.

The fear wasn't helping Aqua, and it definitely wasn't helping Sasami. Forcing a smile onto her face, Aqua said, "I guess we'll just have to stick by each other then, right?"

"Mmn. Right!" Sasami said, nodding and smiling. As if as a sign of reassurance, Sasami moved to give Aqua a hug. "I'll make sure not to go anywhere you don't."

"It's a promise, then," Aqua agreed. "Do you have your Wayfinder?"

"Uh-huh!"

Unclipping the nice of the outfit she's wearing, she pulled out the Wayfinder hidden underneath. "I make sure to keep it by my side all the time."

"I'm just going to use a little magic..." Aqua said, putting a hand on the Wayfinder. There was a white glow of magic for a moment before she pulled back, smiling genuinely.

"There. That's called a Dimension Link. If we're ever separated and need each other's help, we can borrow each other's powers through our Wayfinders. It only lasts a little bit, but it should be enough to help just in case."

Hikari blinked, Tailmon following after her as they noticed a blue haired woman looking a bit upset. "Is everything alright?" she asked, walking over to the older woman.

Tailmon sighed. "I'm sure she's fine."

Aqua turned at the sound of Hikari's voice. Another kid. Not as young as Sasami, but closer to Ven's age, and somehow that hurt more.

"Just a little nervous," she insisted with a smile.

Hikari looked over at Aqua for a moment, before shaking her head. She could tell that the older woman was bugged a bit by something, but well, she really couldn't make it her issue. It wasn't like she knew this woman, after all.

"If you say so," Hikari said. "Anyway, my name's Hikari and this is Tailmon. What's yours?"

"I'm Aqua," she answered. "It's nice meeting you."

Looking over the gathering, she said, "It's a lot of people for an exploratory mission. I hope things aren't as bad as it looks."

"It's nice to meet you too Aqua!" Hikari said.

"Same here," Tailmon also said, before frowning. "Hopefully there won't be too much of a fight or anything."

"I guess we'll just have to be ready for anything," Aqua said.

Hikari nodded. "I'm sure we'll be fine! Especially since there seems like there's a decent number of us going on this mission."

"Very true," she agreed. And it looked like a few of them had been on missions before, so they knew what kind of surprises to expect. They weren't completely helpless.

"So, is this the first mission that you've gone on since you came out of the pods?"

"...Aqua? Didn't expect to see you here," Hoshi stated, wondering if the entire Masaki house was selected to go on this mission. So far, she saw Sasami and now Aqua... Well, it wouldn't be too left field.

"Is this your first mission or nah?"

"It looks like we're all going to be looking out for each other, since Sasami's here too," Aqua said.

She nodded. "I guess I'm a little nervous. Not really sure what to expect."

"The Masaki Home Fighting Squad?" Hoshi lightly joked, trying to remain optimistic about the fact that Sasami was chosen for this mission.

"Well, that's one of the things I can't really give much advice on. I guess all that I can say about these things is just keep on your toes and watch your back. You never know when something's or someone's gonna pop up behind you."

"It seems like it," Aqua said with a laugh.

She nodded. "Thanks. I guess it's just like any other battle, then."

"I'll be sure to make posters or something," Hoshi replied, chuckling a bit.

"And, you're welcome. I guess it really is just like another battle."
