Reliving your past through innocent eyes. [Open]

Now that everything was over, and people regained their memories and appropriate ages, Ronnae found herself staring at the sketchpad her younger self was carrying around. She was somehow scared of opening it. Fearful that the memories would be too painful. She had, after all, done her best to not think about things while on the ship. She knew it would only bring her heartache knowing that they might or might not be in the pods and even then, would they be the same?

She sighed as she settled under the large tree that made up Nokosi's house, slumping down till she sat on the grassy floor, relaxing against the smooth bark of the tree. Placing the sketchpad on her lap, she looked at it with hesitation, maybe she'll take a peak.

"Oh, there are. But if just any old corpse would do, they'd be using just any old corpse, instead of burying Southshore and invading Gilneas, I'd think," he said. "And even so... even if only three people died, doesn't that mean you need to bring more than three people back, to be strong enough to handle the threats?"

Still perfectly calm. He's treating this as an academic discussion, really.

"The Tauren are pretty good about not razing villages, except as pare of a greater Horde action," Mar countered. "So there's a question to pose: Southshore. Did it fall for the Horde... or for the Forsaken?"

"Whoa now," he said, lifting a finger. "There's a difference between denying someone the chance to exist and believing that the addition of further undead to Azeroth is a bad thing. Those two views are not contradictory. And while I do think it was a choice between Tarren Mill or Southshore, eventually, I do believe that if anyone else had taken one of those cities, they wouldn't have buried it under a few feet of smile."

He finally sat up again, to look at Ronnae. "I figured out a test for Horde members long ago, to provide moral guidance to our members in uncertain times. I call it the Saurfang Test. It's simple enough... just ask, 'Would High Overlord Varok Saurfang approve of this'? And it's a measure of how powerful the test is that even Garrosh Hellscream follows it.

"And I don't think the High Overlord would approve of the Forsaken's actions," he said, simply.

"Now, be fair, the Sin'dorei have always had a pretty good relationship with the Forsaken. They helped us join the Horde, remember?" He suspected it was more for their own reasons than for any sense of altruism, but the help had been there when it was needed. That's what mattered. "That doesn't make them natural, though. Birth is the other half of death, and they don't do that -- not naturally, anyway. Maybe you're on to something with volunteers for immortality, but right now, they've got a very good reason to keep the war going, and that's bad for everyone."

He lay back down. "We both know the High Overlord wouldn't have accepted. Poor man has been through too much. He's earned his rest if anyone has."

Mar, of all thinks, chuckled. "You have a lot of passion. I like that."

"That's a good thing. We need people who'll speak up more than we need more mindless soldiers of the Horde doing whatever they're told."

Though the latter applied to him, and he knew it.

"Of course it did! Leaders don't want people who can question, they want people who'll do what they say! And the only leaders worth following are the ones who answer the questions to your satisfaction, so long as you know when your questions are reasonable." High standards much, Mar?

"Don't take this the wrong way, now," he said, because half-elven heritage or not she still seemed to have the most in common with orcs, "but you ever think the Warchief of the Horde maybe shouldn't also be the leader of the orcs?"
