The Return of Time

As the Clock was destroyed, all of the stolen time rushed back to it's original owners, causing them to rapidly age back to normal. But as the crew would soon notice, it seemed that the stolen time didn't always go back to exactly the right place...

[[ooc: Time to get back to normal guys! This is basically a case of very rapid ageing - they'll basically speed through the years through about a couple of minutes or so. Of course, everyone won't get back to exactly the right time - most will only be out by a pretty insignificant amount of time (such as a few minutes, or hours, or days, etc - depends how close significant events are to the point they're from.) For those who are using this to change canon point, they're going to end up at a different point, obviously]]

"H-hey! Stop reading things into it! Feelings have nothing to do with any of this. Lash just has a refined appreciation for Prinny explosions."

He'll keep repeating the no-feelings thing as many times as necessary till he she believes it, damn it!

"Then enjoy it together! You will have a wonderful time."

Oh, she won't argue this time. She'll just smile a little too knowingly.

"Hey! Stop smilingly knowingly! I'm a demon!" the Overlord practically squawked. "Evil, remember? I don't do those happy funtimes emotions!"

[starbolts]

"I disagree," Starfire said loftily, "but Lash's opinion is the one that matters."

Yes, that's a hint. Talk to her when you see her!

"Lash doesn't do happy funtime emotions EITHER," Zetta countered. "That's why I like her. None of this love and flowers crap from her!"

[starbolts]

"Then you are suited for each other! You will have fun!"

She's not telling you how to have a relationship. Just have it! (Really it's silly, considering her own situation, but who's counting?)

"...are you just trying to hook me up so I don't flirt with you any more?" Zetta peered at her suspiciously. It was a demonic thought, of course. And it wouldn't work.

[starbolts]

Starfire shook her head roughly. "No! I am encouraging you to try something that would be 'fun' for you! I know it is not pleasant to be a book once more, so you should have other pleasant experiences."

That's all, honest! His jokes didn't bother her at all.

That comment made Zetta stare at her for a moment... then snicker, then chortle, then outright laugh.

"Hyaaa ha ha ha ha! The pleasant experience I'd prefer aren't exactly possible as a book!"

[starbolts]

"I know," she sighed sadly, remembering their wonderful time. Not that he meant just that, but those were a few of many things a person with a body under their control could do. "But they will be possible someday. And you are still free to speak and make plans!"

"Yeah, and there's always the sensorium, but..."

The book exhaled, looking down at the ground.

"Does a millennia-old demon lord really have any business hooking up with a teenage human girl? Even if she's all right with it, would anyone else on the ship be?"

[starbolts]

"Her opinion is the one that matters," Starfire said once more, resting a hand on the sad-looking book. That frowning face just wouldn't do.

"Lash is permitted to make decisions for herself. Most of us will respect that. You are a Councilman, yes? We respect you."

"...Actually, just because you respect me doesn't mean anyone else does," Zetta said. "Aside from one person already ditching the Council because of me, I'm pretty sure there's a lot of people that'd like my head -- such as it is -- for the Azula decision. Besides, don't tell me people won't interfere with things out of the so-called kindness of their heart, looking out for poor, innocent, manipulated Lash for her own good."

[starbolts]

"I do not believe anyone sees Lash that way," she responded, tilting her head in thought. Lash? A damsel n distress that needed to be rescued from that old meanie Zetta? Nah, didn't fit.

"I still do not believe you should reject the idea until you talk to her."

"And if they thought I'd taken advantage of her de-aging?" Zetta said. She HAD been younger, after all.

[starbolts]

"She will know her own feelings better than I do. Lash can be...very persuasive. I have personal experience with this. If she wants to be with you, she will make sure everyone understands."

It was true! Lash had powered right through her own work on Peter's car.

Zetta burst into such furious laughter that he actually fell over.

That put a pretty quick stop to the laughter, admittedly.

That alarmed Starfire, who was quick to prop the book back up. "Zetta? Are you all right?"

Zetta spent a minute or so spewing invective. Then, when he finally calmed down, he managed to smile again.

"Yeah. Aside from the obvious? I'm good."

Starfire nodded. "Wonderful! Then you will be ready to see her!"

Right?

"I suppose I will be," Zetta said. He didn't think it would be nearly as easy as Starfire implied, but... hey, easy was for chumps and lesser Overlords.
