amateur photographer seeks unwitting subjects for technology study, apply within [open]

Ca-chick! Sure, maybe cameras weren't meant to make that noise. The ones she was used to had been more of a puff of air, a soft click, and then a bright flash of light when the bulb went off. This still had the flash, if it didn't always go, and some option that recorded video. Armed with a new toy she could actually sort-of almost work, Sakura was ready for action.

Which was turning into a day alternating between work and getting around the ship with her camera, taking snapshots of just about any- and everything. She was out by the Great Wall, in the Art Hall, slipping through various parts of the City, and even trying for some reason or another to document the Mess Hall and Medical Labs. Then there was the time she was sitting out by the railroad tracks, waiting for the train to come by, or pacing outside the Atori Teahouse looking for the best angle for a shot of the place.

Beware, crew members, should her path cross with yours, you may be next!

Ca-chick! Flash!

If it's not all that intimidating...

"Not again!"

... Considering she just half-blinded herself after accidentally setting a five second timer and turning the camera around to see why it wasn't taking the picture she was aiming for.

[ ooc: Excuse for photographic and/or video evidence of people running around as children? Say it ain't so, Jack, say it ain't so! I mean, there's lots of other things to photograph as well! ]

Sakura grinned, nodding her head. Ronnae's energy was so characteristic of kids, she'd almost forgotten. It made her sick at heart, concerned for what it meant when they couldn't even walk on their own anymore. Regressing that far... but no. They'd figure out destroying that clock before then. "Yes, you do. Just like I've been practicing with this camera. Do you think I'll ever get close to perfect with it?" she asked, looking from Ronnae to the camera in question.

Ronnae nodded excitedly, "Mhm! I'm shure you can! All it tates is prattice!"

She gave her a small reassuring smile and a little thumbs up.

"Practice," she said, as if mulling over the word. "Now how would I go about getting more of that?" Sakura tapped her chin, considering. It was more an act than any time she really needed to think, but it served a purpose in her mind.

Snapping her fingers, she looked back to Ronnae. "Hey, I've got an idea. Why don't you help me! After all, if I'm practicing, I need something or someone to practice with. Think you could help me with that?"

Ronnae's eyes shone brightly as she nodded excitedly, "I can help!"

Of course Ronnae was more enthusiastic about getting her picture taken when she was a little tyke than when she's older.

Looking around, down and up, she tried to think of a good spot to take them at.

"Where do you want to tate dem? Maybe the park?" With all the trees and flowers and the playground!

"Hmm, I think the park might just be the best place we could go." She mused, then nodded firmly. "Yes. I think it'll have to be the park. Though I've never gone to it from this part of the city..." she looked over to Ronnae again. "How about you?"

"Yup! I love going there!" she exclaimed eagerly, her small hand taking Sakura's in hers. "Okies~ Follow me~!"

And with that, the small girl started leading Sakura through the city, of course taking the scenic route so she could show her all the 'cool' stuff she had found while exploring!

Surprised as she might have been initially, Sakura lightly held on to Ronnae's hand as she led them through the city. She smiled and nodded as appropriate, oohing and aahing at some sights, asking brief questions or agreeing over Ronnae's estimate of others. Kids were rarely this interactive back home, largely because the ones she spent the most time with were either Academy students or recovering in the hospital. By the time they had this much energy, they were mostly moving out.

"You must really enjoy exploring," she said, amused (if approving). The more one knew about one's environment, the better. It was nice to be shown the same areas she had familiarity with from another's perspective, especially one this ready to enjoy what was there to be seen. "And it looks like you've found the park for us both!"

The enjoyment on her face at the way Sakura was enjoying herself was clear. She was loving every moment of it, any worries that she might have had earlier were whisked away.

She nodded at the comment and smiled, "I do~ I really like exploring new places and drawding them." And once she noticed the park, she bounced happily, clapping once and hurrying to the area.

Then the drawing had started at a young age. It wasn't so much surprising as consistent with what Ronnae had said before.

She had to smile again at all that energy, choosing to focus on the positives instead of the looming negative. "Hey! Don't go too fast!" A private joke, since it was unlikely Ronnae could currently go faster than Sakura. Still, she kept pace, or about a step behind, the entire way. "Where's your favorite place in the whole park?" she asked, looking around.

Before Sakura could finish that question, she was already climbing it. An old weeping willow in the center of the park. Wide branches that can house plenty of people in it's strong limbs.

She climbed until she reaches a nice comfy spot and looked down at Sakura with a happy smile. "Dis is it~ I luv this tree, it's pretty, and comfy and it looks so cool!"

Fast kid! Sakura looks up the tree, then nods once, as if it's passed some sort of approval in her ninja tree catalog. (It didn't matter that one didn't exist. It could have!)

"It's a beautiful trees," she said, reaching up to run her hands over some of the weeping branch's leaves. "Different from what you'd find in my home. Anything like those where you're from, Ronnae?"

She pulled the camera back out, hoping the strange cycling night and day generations in the City would continue to work with her, and not against her. Flash did funny things sometimes in taking pictures, she'd noticed. "Smile!"

Ronnae nodded happily, "Yup! But mostly in the more swampy places, or darker forests back home fow sum reason."

Once Sakura was getting ready, Ronnae took her spot and waited for the queue, and there it was! She smiled her best, cutest, kidlet smile. Tiny tusks visible, and her bright teal eyes alight with happiness.

"Hmm, I guess swamps and dark forests are just where these trees are happiest. Think that might be the reason why?"

Depressing the button, the familiar click and flash caught Ronnae in her full smile. "Got it!" she called out, like it was a necessary announcement. "Though wait -- mind one more?"

Ronnae smiled and nodded happily, "Maybe! Hey tree, are yew happy in a swamp?" She asked cheerily before turning in time for the photo!

And asking her for more was like asking if she wanted candy! She immediately got into another cutesy pose and smiled happily, posing for the camera.

"Did the tree have an answer for you?" she asked, bringing the camera back up. She waited until she had Ronnae properly lined up in the small viewfinder, then took another snapshot. Sakura looked over the top of her camera, letting it fall back down to chest level. "Anything else you think I should be trying to take pictures of?"

"It said it's happy when there's peoples around~" she said cheerily before staying still for the picture.

Once that was done, she looked down in thought, a finger to her chin as she tried to answer the question.

"Me!" she finally exclaimed with a giggle before she jumped down, landing softly on the ground. "Maybe more of the fun places in the ship? Yew can tate pittures of a lot of stuffs in the city too! Or diffewent aweas of the ship!"

Snorting, Sakura quirked up an eyebrow. "Oh, you, is it?" She pretended to think fairly hard on the options Ronnae had come up with. "You know, all of those sound like good ideas to me. Where will I even start?"

"Weeeellllllll..... I'm right here!" she said with a slight blush, she wasn't immune to her coy attitude!

"Ah! Looks like you'll get to be first!" She took another snapshot of Ronnae after winking, amused at how camera ready Ronnae really was. Naruto probably would have been the same, if for different reasons. "Now, how about we find our next location? I'll probably need someone to stand in frame again, for reference, you know. I wonder who I could ask to do that..."

"Oh oh!" she raised her hand dramatically, "I can help! I can I can!" jumping up and down excitedly. She ran over to Sakura, hugging onto her as she tugged on her hand with her two small ones as she looked up with bright teal eyes and a warm, excited smile.

Sakura laughed, not honestly used to this much extended contact with an individual child. At least not a healthy one away from their parents. "With an offer like that, how can I say no? Ready to get going?" Maybe subtly she could start getting Ronnae to lead her back toward her residence at the same time...

"Yup yup! Follow me~" she said in a sing-songy voice as she marched her way towards a direction that might or might not lead them to the right spot. She had a tendency to take the long route due to her wanderlust, after all, what's an explorer without it! Soon she'd pass by where Ronnae took residence as well... There needed to be a candy stop after all.
