Galileo's Burden, Phase Beta: In Avani's Name

(Plot Post!)

The sun was starting to sink towards the horizon as the emergency pod landed down on the surface of Orya, deep in the thicket of a jungle a few miles north of the village.

It was all unknown and uncharted territory... but if Stacy's crew ever wanted to see a good half of their doctors and scientists again, there was no other choice but to stage a rescue mission.

(ooc: SUBTHREADS ARE FIIIINE. Have at!)

"Ah--!" Allenby didn't have time to realize what was going on, toppling over as the shot rang out. She looked up just in time to see Zouichi whirl and take out the sniper that had almost put a bullet through her. Might have been better for the sniper to go out that way--otherwise he'd be dealing with a hundred pounds of very, very angry Gundam Fighter by now.

She jumped back to her feet and yanked off her vest. [[Hey, do any of you guys know first aid?!]] she yelled into her comm. Although he wasn't bleeding as much as she'd have expected. "Zouichi, you okay?! Hold still a second!" She pressed the vest against the wound carefully, trying to remember the first-aid training she hadn't paid enough attention to.

<<Belay that, no need,>> Zouichi said.

As much as he appreciated the concern, there were more important things for them to be doing right now. "It's alright; I can't feel it that much. The bleeding'll stop in a minute, so let's just take out as many of them as we can."

He could guess she'd probably been trying to knock out as many enemies as possible before someone put a few not-so-unlethal bullets into them.

Hoshi stared at the DoubleDriver she had, pursing her lips in thought. Well, she didn't know if it worked unless if she tried, so she placed the Driver in front of her midsection, wrapping around instantly. "Phillip," she called out, hoping to get some sort of response back.

"Ah," said Phillip, shutting his book as the connection kicked in. "They'll need cover fire, so let's give it to them. LunaTrigger should suffice." He clicked his Memory. "!"

She nodded her head and held out the Trigger Memory in her hand, clicking it. "!"

The two of them said "HENSHIN" at the same time and Hoshi pressed down lightly on the Memories as they connected, then she pushed the ends of the Driver to the side, holding her arms out. Pieces scattered about before they covered her body up, turning her into LunaTrigger.

The Kamen Rider jumped off of the HardBoiler with the Trigger Magnum ready to go, standing right in front of Allenby and Zouichi. Her finger squeezed the trigger, sending curved shots at the snipers to disable them. There was no reason to actually kill the poor guys, right?

"You guys okay?" spoke the left side of LunaTrigger, the eye blinking to signify that it was, indeed, Hoshi.

"We'll provide cover fire. Sorry we're late," replied the left side in a male voice, signifying Phillip.

"Still, don't push yourself," Jr. spoke quickly to Zouichi. "Here, Allenby, go back to focusing on getting the rest of these guys down so nobody else gets hit." And for good measure, he casted a quick, weak healing ether to hold Zouichi over until he could get himself looked at properly. "That should help for the time being."

And with that, Jr. straightened back up immediately to return his focus on the group's attackers.

"He knows his limits," Hit Girl commented, cracking her neck a little, stretching her fingers. "Wish I had some way to heal, but I haven't learned that much magic yet."

But there was something magical that she could do. She grabbed her Pactio card, brought it to her head and chanted Adeat!.

Now her guns were replaced by her artifact guns, which looked far grander and much more dangerous. She hadn't gotten to use these as much as she liked, but now was the best time, right?

"Let's go kick some ass."

"But ya just got shot!" Further argument was cut off, however, by the arrival of Hoshi and her--wait--okay, Hoshi and Phillip. No problem. "I'm fine, he ain't."

She knew that it made military sense to leave it and get back to the fight right away, but military sense could piss off for another second. He'd just got himself shot for her! She wasn't going to just run off without some visible reassurance that he wouldn't bleed out from that.

But when Jr. used his healing magic, she nodded sharply. "Thanks guys. You be careful, got it?" she said to Zouichi and turned to Hit Girl. "Sounds like a plan! Yaaaaaaa!" Allenby plunged back in, moving fast as she could--pretty fast--so that any more of those sniper bastards would have a hard time getting a clear shot on her.

"Hey, stop taking all the good stuff!" Spidey cried out, watching those in the middle of the fight dropping their attackers. He wasn't liking this at all. It seemed like the only one not trying to kill was Allenby. And that kid she looked no older than the others on board and yet here she was, acting like Frank Castle.

More weblines shot out, stopping another sniper in its tracks.

Well, well -- Jr. was apparently a man of many talents.

"Thanks," Zouichi said, then nodded briefly at Hit Girl. He did know his limits, and a single bullet? Wasn't going to slow him down much. It was more important that Allenby was all right.

He raised his pistol once more, slipping quickly back into the jungle -- places to go, people to punch.

"Hm, guess they don't need much in terms of cover fire," spoke the left side of Double, still keeping a vigilant eye on what was still out there. Just how many snipers were there in this forest? Furthermore, would they be able to defeat them before their fellow crewmates would be sacrificed?

Hoshi quickly snapped out of her thoughts on the matter, confident in the team they had so far. "What form do you suggest we take on next, Phillip?" she asked, the eye blinking as she spoke.

"We'll need to move quickly, so let's change from Luna to Cyclone," said Phillip, the right hand making the motion for the swap already, clicking the Cyclone Memory. "The added radius of the shots can knock the snipers from their positions easier than pinpoint accurate hits."

"Very well. If it also helps, before we became Double, I slipped the Denden Sensor on in order to help out when I wasn't aware if the DoubleDriver worked," Hoshi stated as her left hand swapped out the Luna Memory, ready for him to slide in the Cyclone Memory.

"Good thinking. As a note, we should send the BatShot and the Stag out to relay information as well." added Phillip, slotting in the Cyclone Memory.

"Thank you, partner," Hoshi said with a bit of pep in her voice before nodding. Both of her hands moved to activate the form change, turning the yellow half of Double into green, giving the Kamen Rider a scarf behind them, as well as a bit of music (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HCJLMO-ZAe8) added in. Then, she inserted the Bat Memory into the BatShot, hearing the word "" announced. After that was done, she slid in the Stag Memory into the StagPhone, listening as a voice said "." When that was done, she sent both devices out to help them gain more information about their terrain, Seraphiel following them.

"Let's go," she said, running into the jungle to find more snipers to disable. "We don't have to kill them, just disable them so that they don't interrupt us," she said next, obviously not okay with the idea of taking someone else's life, even if they were technically an enemy. Killing didn't solve anything.

"Oh, we're not killing anyone. Our shots destroyed their weapons," added Phillip casually.
