Galileo's Burden, Phase Beta: In Avani's Name
(Plot Post!)
The sun was starting to sink towards the horizon as the emergency pod landed down on the surface of Orya, deep in the thicket of a jungle a few miles north of the village.
It was all unknown and uncharted territory... but if Stacy's crew ever wanted to see a good half of their doctors and scientists again, there was no other choice but to stage a rescue mission.
(ooc: SUBTHREADS ARE FIIIINE. Have at!)

Re: The Jungle
Specifically, said motorcycle was the HardBoiler, something that Hoshi had borrowed from Phillip for this mission. It was faster than walking through the jungle was, at any rate.
She positioned the motorcycle to jump over an overgrown root or two, already having a plan in mind of how to go about this -- DoubleDriver or not!
Re: The Jungle
When they landed, Jr. figured that he'd help prepare the rest of the crew in advance, just in case anything decided to meet them halfway. It was only slight, but with a couple of quick ether spells, the rescue team would be just a little bit faster, and able to take a hit slightly harder than their norms.
And then he started to move, not particularly wary of whether or not he lead or followed behind. He himself had pretty good hearing and reflexes thanks to the power of science and genetics, so if any dangers reared their heads he'd be one to quickly respond to it.
Every small distance traveled through the trees, however, Jr. would pause, looking around to make sure they were the only ones in the area. Of course, when Spidey passed by singing, Jr.'s gaze snapped upward, and he frowned a little.
"Don't you think the singing miiiight give us away?"
Of course, when Hikari's vehicle passed ... well Spidey's noise in comparison was close to nothing.
"Guess we're not going for the element of surprise, then!"
Re: The Jungle
She cracked a grin at Jr. when he commented on their decided lack of stealth. "We might as well take care of those guys by attracting 'em now--means we'll have less work to do on the way back, right?"
Re: The Jungle
With a smirk, he reached for his guns. Might as well get ready because whatever they were going to meet would be well aware that they were coming.
Re: The Jungle
Though, she was serious about this mission. After all, they had to rescue their fellow crew members!
Re: The Jungle
Despite the danger of the situation, she had to smile at the enthusiasm of her comrades. While she was in no way excited by the prospect of violence, she appreciated their determination and bravery.
Re: The Jungle
"What's a HardBoiler?" She asked, as the pistols in her hands, not here a moment ago appeared. "Ca you get multipe targets that way?"
Re: The Jungle
And Spider-Man, who may as well count as an undisciplined child at times.
Still, he at least had a few professionals with him, and he hit Jalith over the comms. «Jalith, scout ahead, see if you can find out where the prisoners are being held. And give me a heads up when the locals finally notice the kids.»
Leon quietly signaled to Trudy to flank the group on the opposite side from him. If these kids wanted to be loud and draw attention to themselves, then they got to be the bait.
Re: The Jungle
He moved silently through the jungle, idly listening to the chatter of Allenby and the others. It would have been hard to conceal the approach of a group this big anyway (a motorcycle in a jungle?), but they might very well be underestimating the villagers, who no doubt knew the ground cover here far better than the crew did.
Zouichi hung back a little behind the main group, using the advantage of the path already created by the others; it left him freer to scan the foliage for signs of an ambush. If any materialized, this would prove the ideal position for covering the rest of the group.
Re: The Jungle
Well, if it weren't for the occasional hoof-scrape or jingle of the Farseer's mail armor, she'd be rather hard to see. While she knew that it was because of her eloquence that she was here, Alastirra had worn her armor and brought her maces.
Just in case.
And there was always magical support to be provided as well, if the situation called for it.
Re: The Jungle
--It shall be done-- Was all the reply that Jalith gave. So be it for those who had no concept of stealth to be bait, approving of such even. His motions through the jungle all but silent as he picked up the pace and moved ahead of the main group with the aid the conditioning and augmentations his body had undergone during his training during his time as a Vindicare, aiming to recon the village ahead before the villagers were alerted to the noise that followed behind.
His senses constantly scanning for movement and tracking for signals, all the while keeping a sense on just where and how far the main group was behind him, not a hard task given their noise.
Re: The Jungle
Her shiny new sidearm was strapped to her hip, but the weapon in her hands was the GIA service rifle. It blew some beautiful holes in people and she was more than happy to use it. She pressed her comm. <<Captain, what's the word on use of lethal force? Are we still trying to make nice with the crazy natives, or can I shoot something?>>

Re: The Jungle
So, on that note, Hit girl didn't hesitate with the glocks and, being one of the younger kids here, she was just small enough to be a harder target to hit. She had to capitalize on that, and did so by splitting from the main foray of the group, making sure to cover, if necessary. She had a few shots here and there, but it wsa the land troops she was going to really let loose on.
