50 ways to terrify your friends
Cassie Lang had done a lot of bad and stupid things in her life. This had to be perhaps the stupidest one of them all.
So it was creepy and fake and all kinda of not healthy but she didn't care about that. She just wanted to see her dad for just a few more moments. A few more moments that turned into hours until she'd fallen asleep on the sofa of her father's living room... in the Sensorium.
After waking, for those first few moments, everything felt right.
Then she remembered her father was dead.
And then she remembered that she was in the Sensorium and she'd been kidnapped by a living ship.
And really, who could blame her for wanting to get away from all that? Except for maybe everyone else on board.

Cassie yelped and sat up. "You shouldn't be here!" She snapped, which was of course not the best thing to say considering she shouldn't be there either, having previously said she wasn't going to stay in here. And considering that the Stacy probably had a good reason for unlocking the room, unless it was just automatic.

"Yeah it is. Hate to be rude but can you leave me alone for a bit?"

"Are you okay?" Dani asked, looking at Cassie with a bit of concern.

"I don't believe you," she said. Well, if she was wrong, she was just annoying the other girl. Ignoring a problem was a worse thing.

...On second thought, if the girl told people Cassie had been acting suspicious, people like Jonas or Kate, that would be very bad.
"O.K., I promised my friends I wouldn't be here. Can you keep this between the two of us?"

That was when a fair haired man bearing a strong resemblance to Cassie Lang walked in the room.
"Good morning princess, who's your friend?"
Cassie winced and put her face in her hands. Busted.

And then she wondered if this was some sort of twisted irony.
She beamed. "I'm Dani Phantom, mister! Do you think I could talk to her alone? Girl stuff, you know?"
She was pretty sure this guy was a program, but still, she's seen how life like a program could be and it seemed rude to talk like he wasn't there.

Cassie didn't look up until she heard her "father" leave.
"This is embarrassing."

She looked over at Cassie, looking sympathetic. "It's not. He's gone...for real, isn't he?"

"If it's one last time, then how do you know your friends wouldn't want you to be here? Unless you've done it before?" Dani asked.
no subject
"Well I didn't exactly get much time with him before they interrupted me."
