Cassie Lang had done a lot of bad and stupid things in her life. This had to be perhaps the stupidest one of them all.

So it was creepy and fake and all kinda of not healthy but she didn't care about that. She just wanted to see her dad for just a few more moments. A few more moments that turned into hours until she'd fallen asleep on the sofa of her father's living room... in the Sensorium.

After waking, for those first few moments, everything felt right.

Then she remembered her father was dead.

And then she remembered that she was in the Sensorium and she'd been kidnapped by a living ship.

And really, who could blame her for wanting to get away from all that? Except for maybe everyone else on board.
