Restoration (open, but esp. Daimon)

He had fed and cared for the animals. He had spent some time on the machine -- there were still pieces missing; he would have to talk to engineering.

Now the Chancellor was back in the basilica and surrounding 'Vatican' areas, cleaning and repairing. At the moment, he was fixing the wall near the statue of St. Michael. He had his bed ready in one of the peripheral buildings near the basilica, but he was not tired yet. He could get a great deal done today.

The Chancellor listens, and tries to process this as best he can.

"I... see. I can understand your concern, then. There are no other areas here in need of repair with such.. unusual circumstances, are there?"

Daimon shook his head. "No, there are none. At least not to my knowledge, and I am intimately familiar with the Vatican."

"Then I shall keep my attention on those other sections."

"Thank you." He paused. "And thank you for your help. I truly do appreciate it. I fear my own efforts to repair the structure have been unsatisfactory. There is always more to do."

"You are welcome. There is simply too much ground for one man to cover. I am told regular Mass is not held, but perhaps eventually it will be possible."

"I... do not hold services often. I am not a priest and so it feels wrong to act as one." Daimon confessed.

"I understand the sentiment. I have heard it before. But if you have any appropriate training, then for the moment, you may be all we have. I do not intend to pressure, but I know well what the familiarity of the liturgy can do for people trapped on a ship like this."

Daimon admired the floor for a moment. "I will consider it."

And now we fall victim to the fact that Dragons don't introduce themselves. The Chancellor's just going to walk over and start fixing something else.
