He had fed and cared for the animals. He had spent some time on the machine -- there were still pieces missing; he would have to talk to engineering.
Now the Chancellor was back in the basilica and surrounding 'Vatican' areas, cleaning and repairing. At the moment, he was fixing the wall near the statue of St. Michael. He had his bed ready in one of the peripheral buildings near the basilica, but he was not tired yet. He could get a great deal done today.

Heavy thoughts for a heavy heart. And if Daimon was hoping for solace he would not get it, nor even a distraction.
"What are you doing here?!" He demanded the moment he laid eyes on the Chancellor. "Get away from there!"

"I see..." Pause. Blink. "And you are attempting to mitigate various instincts by remaining in a house of God and.... putting one of your souls in a statue?" He suppose it made a bizarre sort of sense, for something that didn't actually make sense at all. The church was so /sensible/ in the Avalon Empire.

And now we fall victim to the fact that Dragons don't introduce themselves. The Chancellor's just going to walk over and start fixing something else.
