Karen was still a little nervous around Kang, and quiet, even after spending a couple of days with him, and he couldn't really blame her. At least she wasn't terrified of him anymore, and she wasn't all that difficult to watch over. He'd even managed to find a few things to help keep her entertained in Possessions (the Fairplay memories were definitely coming in handy in this case; he wouldn't have known what type of things human children typically liked to do otherwise).

He had duties at the tavern, though, and decided to bring her along with him. She'd offered to help him out, but there really wasn't anything a child as young as her could do, so he'd handed her some paper and crayons and set her up at a table next to the bar, asking her to draw some pictures for the tavern. That way, she was occupied and out of the way, and still felt that she was doing something to help.

He made sure to keep an eye on her as he went about his usual business, checking up on her every now and then to make sure she wasn't bored.

She didn't look too comfortable when he sat next to her; she ducked her head down and focused on her current drawing, of some trees and animals from Hydroponics. "I'm, um, I'm okay." Far be it from Karen to make Kang angry.

"I promised you before that I'm not going to hurt you, and I keep my promises," Kang reassured her, leaning on his elbows. "What do you want to do?"

"Um..." She put down her brown crayon and picked up a green one. "I... I dunno. I want to go back to my room." Aftran had explained it might be dangerous, but did they even know where it was? They might not be able to find her... "Um, thanks for the stuff to draw with, though."

Kang frowned slightly, "I can't take you there, but only for a few more days, hopefully. I'm sorry, Karen."

He picked up one of the finished ones, taking a closer look at it, "This is pretty good. You think I should put it on the wall right behind the bar?" He planned on taking them down as soon as she didn't need looking after anymore; he wasn't going to throw them away, though. That would just be mean, and he kind of liked her. She reminded him a bit of Kali with her shyness.

He really liked it? She looked up when he picked the drawing up. "Um... s-sure!"

"Um, is there anything else I can do besides draw pictures? I have a bunch already..." There was the one of the tavern, which she'd drawn. There was this one she was working on now. There was one of a cat, and one of herself and Aftran.

"I'll put all the others right next to it, too." Kang smiled.

He paused, thinking. "...actually, there's a few people that are drinking water or fruit juice. You can go help them, if you want."

"Like a waitress? Ah-- okay!" She was getting pretty tired of just sitting here. Drawing was more fun with friends. And if she got to walk around, maybe she'd get to meet some normal people, not just a bunch of weird-looking aliens...

"Like a waitress," Kang nodded, pointing to the ones not drinking alcohol. "Or a barmaid, where I'm from. I think that person is almost done with their drink. While you go help them, I'll put your pictures up on the wall."

"Yes sir, Mr. Kang!" She stood up; he'd handled the one picture delicately enough despite his rather frightening size, so... well, all she could do was hope they'd be okay. At the very least, she hoped the one with Aftran in it stayed all right. Karen wanted to show it to her later.

"I'll, um, I'll do my best."

Kang laughed, picking up the finished pictures and standing up as well, "Just call me Kang, Karen." He wasn't sure how to put up the pictures without damaging them, but he was certain he could find a way.
